Chapter Thirty
(Can't Reveal It All)
Wednesday morning Ron sat at the Gryffindor table without his two best friends.
Lately, the pair has been acting strange and he wished they would tell him what’s going on.
He hated when they had secrets and he wasn’t part of it.
“Stop worrying so much, Ron. I’m sure Hermione is in the library studying for NEWTs and Harry’s with her.” Ginny lied easily as she scooped eggs onto her plate.
Actually, Hermione wasn’t in the library, but with Blaise probably making out somewhere secrete as for Harry…Draco stalking.
The Slytherin team had early morning practice.
Ron poked at his breakfast, sighing. “I can’t help it. I mean, we’re all best friends and we’re suppose to share stuff with each other.” He said, feeling betrayed.
Ginny rolled her eyes, but smiled sweetly to her brother. She wished she could tell him the truth. “Ron, when they are ready to tell you, whatever you believe they are hiding, I’m sure they will. Everyone is entitled to have secrets you know.”
“How would you feel if your best friends held something from you, Ginevra?”
Ginny shoved a mouthful of eggs and chewed abruptly. “I don’t think I want to know what secrets Luna has. That girl is crazy.”
The memory of detention and Luna freaking out is enough to leave her feeling miserable.
She didn’t reach her room until midnight thanks to the crazy blond.
Ron, still miserable pushed his plate away. He lost his appetite. “Not really speaking about Luna since all know she’s a loon, I meant Harry and Hermione since they are your best friends too.”
His sister shrugged. Ginny in all honest wouldn’t know how she would feel, but for her brother’s sake she had to keep playing this pointless game to keep him satisfied. “I probably wouldn’t be upset, but curious. However, some secrets are best left unknown.” Her tone of indifference didn’t help either.
Looking at his sister, Ron started thinking, out loud. “What are you hiding?”
Greenish-hazel eyes looked up. “What makes you think I’m hiding something?”
Unconvinced, he tried a different approach. “Do you think Hermione found someone?”
Ginny could feel her resolve slipping. When did her brother become so good at mind games? “Hermione isn’t seeing anyone. What’s with the interrogation, Ron?”
That didn’t stop the red head. “What about Harry, he’s been acting different lately.”
“Harry’s fine.” She said hotly.
That’s right…Harry’s fine…and gay…but nevertheless fine.
Ron knew she was lying. “Whatever you’re hiding, Ginevra Molly Weasley, I will find out.” He promised.
Losing her appetite now, she pushed her plate aside. Thanks Ron, she thought angrily. “Do what you must, Ronald. It’s not my problem.” Standing to leave, she decided to use the remaining time to find Neville.
They had some important things to discuss…while making out. Grabbing her satchel, she turned to leave when Ron called out to her.
“Since you’re leaving, why don’t you tell Neville hello for me.”
Ginny curse silently, throwing a look at her brother over her shoulder. How the hell did he know? “I don’t know what you are talking about, Ron. I’m going to the library to work on some last minute class work.” She lied coolly. She was so use to lying it made it hard for her to believe in the words she said most of the time.
Turning away from her brother, she missed the amusing look he aiming her way.
Ron knew about her and Neville.
After all, sex is a powerful magic.
They forgot to put a silencing charm on Neville’s bed one night.
