Chapter Twenty-Three

“You will remain silent while I speak.” Wyatt commanded, as his magic was trying to calm him. He watched as Aiden flinched at his words. Knowing that Aiden was drained and still held by Zion’s binding he decided to get his thoughts out quickly.

“This last day and a half has been pure Hell for me. The rumors that began because of Kai not withstanding. I had planned to have a conversation with you about them after I returned from the Ministry meeting. A meeting that you could not attend, due to other obligations. Of which I understood, however when I arrived in Avalon, you were gone and no one wanted to tell me why.” Wyatt stated coldly his emotionless mask in place.

Aiden was still staring at Wyatt as he tried to fight the binding spell that held him in place. He knew that Wyatt would continue to speak. Hoping that he would be able to release himself without being noticed.

“I had to play dirty with my mother just to get answers. Then I fought with my brother. We have always been at odds with each other, but never have I been so angry to cause him harm. Just to find out what had occurred in my absence. Imagine my surprise that he went above his station. This in turn caused me to put him back in place. Then you come back and the power rolling off you was enough to choke me. Do you know why?”

“No” Aiden whispered as he continued watching the only person that had shown him what it was like to love.

“Because your magic was wrapped in darkness. Now do not get me wrong, you had a balance of light and dark from the moment I met you. That did not bother me. However, this darkness was not your own. I had to contain myself in my study under a dozen guards just to cleanse my magic. To my surprise my protection magic was still rolling off me, and I couldn’t understand why.” Wyatt took a deep breath, he could feel Aiden trying to release himself so sent a small stream of magic to hold him.

“I felt as though a part of me was lost when you became so cold to me. Causing my magic to become cold and that radiated through the whole castle. “Wyatt stopped before his eyes display warmth while his face stayed cold. “I am King and if you still wish to be my Consort, prophecy or not tell me now. Because if you want to walk away I will not stop you, it will hurt me if you do. Nevertheless, I will not force someone to be with me that cannot show me love in public or private. The choice is yours, choose now.”

Wyatt stared into those sliver blue eyes waiting for Aiden to make his choice. It was killing him, but he knew that if Aiden chose to leave he would not stop him. Moreover, if he chose to stay they would work out what ever the problems were.

Magic, herself was on edge waiting the answer. She knew that if the one that she had chosen for her childling walked away. Avalon would fall, because her childling would bring it to the ground and she would be unable to stop him.

Aiden was wide-eyed and silent after Wyatt’s declaration. Not sure what to say, he was sure that he would have been thrown away again. Even after everything he had done, he was being given a choice. That was something no one had ever given him.

“I still want to be your Consort, if you’ll have me.” Aiden whispered as he closed his eyes waiting for what Wyatt would say or do next. He knew that staying was not going to be easy.

Wyatt sighed in relief as his magic began to warm, himself as well as the castle.
“Of course I still want you, Aiden. “ Wyatt stated as he moved to lay down beside on him on the bed, not touching. He did not think that was a good thing to do at this point. They both had a lot to work out between them, but this was a start.

“I am sorry.” Aiden stated as he to lay still, even though his magic had finally released him from the bindings.

“So am I Aiden, so am I.” Wyatt sighed as his eyes closed before sleep finally came.

Draco & Chris

“Finally!” sighed Draco as he felt the warmth return to his chambers.

“It seems I will not need your help after all.” Chris smirked warmly as the castle’s magic wrapped around him in comfort.

“Indeed, though my company was not all that bad.” Draco coyly responded as he moved to stand.

“No it was not. Look Draco, I know that you have a crush on me. However, you do not know me, and I do not know you. However I would like too.” Chris said warmly as he began readying himself to leave.

“I would like Chris.” Draco responded with a faint blush.

“Far enough, let’s get through tomorrow and then we’ll go from there. Agreed?” Chris stated as his hand opened the door to leave.

“Agreed!” Draco replied with a nod, before watching the Prince close the door behind him.

“Well Dragon it seems you have gone and reeled in a Prince.” Narcissa smirked coldly as she watched the blush on her sons face.

“Yes and I expect you not to get in my way.” Draco coldly stated as he turned toward his mother. Love her though he did, he did not want her to ruin what he was trying to achieve.

“I would never dream of it.” Narcissa remarked before exiting the room.

Piper & Leo

Piper and Leo felt the warmth return to their chambers. It was a shock to them, Wyatt had isolated himself recently and so had Aiden. They feared something had happened between them. Both had tried to get answers from their sons only to be dismissed.

“Well seems things are back to normal.” Leo chuckles softly as he wrapped an arm loosely around his wife.

“Yes but for how long Leo. Those boys are destined to rule all magic, I don’t think this will be the first time they come to blows.” Piper sighed into the embrace of her husband.

“Being immortal is hard Piper. They will fight a lot more over the centuries.” Leo stated as his eyes opened as he realized he had let something slip.

“What do you mean immortal?” Hissed Piper as she pulled from her husband.

Leo raised his hands in defense as he walked backward toward the door. Trying to gain his escape, knowing that his wife would freeze him if he tried to orb away from her and that hurt.

“Do not try to get away from me Leo. You will tell me what you meant by immortality and you will do it now.” Snapped Piper as she watched her husband grab the handle of the door.

“Just what I said Piper. Wyatt and Aiden are immortal.” Leo remarked before quickly exiting the room. He was lucky for as soon as he made it five steps into the hall, the door was blow off. Not taking his chances with his angry wife, he orbed away from the Royal wing.

Dungeons

The dungeons were the last to fell the warming of the castle. In addition, the prisoners as well as guards sighed when it hit them. The prisoners were not aware of what had caused the coldness. Nevertheless, the guards knew that the castle work with the Kings mood and lately his mood was like ice.

“Well that’s nice.” Tada stated as he pulled the heavy coat away from his body.

“The King and Consort have finally resolved their problems do you think?” Jada the submissive guard asked as she too removed the extra coat.

“It is not that easy Jada-darling. The Consort was hurt because of those foul rumors and lashed out. No telling how long it will take for their relationship to warm again.” Peru the beta of the three remarked as he walked into the office after his rounds.

“That’s true, so Peru have you removed the extra warming charms that were placed into the cells?” Tada asked with mischief as he watched his other mate take a seat.

“No, did you want me too?” Peru smirked in his chair.

“Tada, I think they should remain at least tonight. It wouldn’t hurt for them to sweat a little.” Jada remarked with bite.

“Very well, one night will not hurt them.” Tada answered as he placed the two coats on the wall rack.

“Cards?” Peru smirked as he pulled the deck out of his back pocket. Smiling when his mates agreed and began readying the deck.

The servants all knew that tomorrow was going to be busy and wanted to get most of their work done this night. It was hard for them when the castle was so cold and the warming charms lasted for short period. Nevertheless, they still had their assignments to complete and carried on. However, when the warmth returned to the castle, the servants sighed in contentment. It let them know that all was well with their King.
