Chapter 31
Ch 31
Raven sat trying to read on e of the books Severus had given her. It was called simply, ‘Ancient Candle Practice’. And even though she found it interesting she kept musing over how things had changed at work so far. Kevin was not any nicer to any of the other employees except for her. Elvira had asked Raven point blank if she was having an affair with Kevin. Raven was shocked by this question but Elvira had said that Emma had said that the two probably were because Kevin was acting so different towards Raven.
Raven had assured Elvira that she was not having a relationship with Kevin, but she also knew that Elvira probably didn’t believe her anyway.
Raven also mused over Severus and when he had come to the bookshop Halloween party night. Severus had conjured her a spectacular witch ‘costume’ of a pale lavender color. He embellished it with silver stars. Raven had laughed and said that she wanted green not lavender. Severus insisted on not giving her green because he said that a co-worker always wore green and that she was quite old and he didn’t want to think of either the co-worker or old age when looking at Raven. So lavender it was.
But when Severus had shown up at the party Raven knew that it was in his plan all along for her to wear the lavender. Severus came in dressed in a dark purple wizard ‘costume’. His was also complete with sliver star embellishments. However instead of his black hair, he had made his hair a dark heavy looking gray color, and he had added a very extraordinary long gray beard. Raven had barely been able to keep from laughing at his beard, which reached past his knees.
Raven smiled remembering his costume on that night.
She sipped from her herb tea. She glanced at the small television; she recognized the show that was playing. Raven turned up the sound. It was an American comedy from a few years before. She listened to the show for a while. She suddenly felt slightly sad as she noticed their American accents. She suddenly missed her mom and her sister. It was almost Christmas time and she missed the snow that she knew had already fallen several times before now in her old hometown. She decided that tomorrow on her break, she’d call home. She wondered if since Severus could go to places like Italy within a second, if he could go to America the same way. She thought that it would be nice to go back home for a visit. She would really wish though that Severus could come too.
Raven frowned. She had told her sister and mother that she had a special someone in her life, but she hadn’t told them about his magical ability. She wondered how she could ever even approach the subject.
She drained the dregs of her tea and decided to quit worrying. If it ever came to pass that her family were to meet Severus, she was sure that there would be no need to bring up his magic at all.
Switching off the television, Raven directed her attention to her book. She knew that for this Christmas, just as last Severus was planning on taking her to a remote village in the Alps. Which he knew she adored.
Raven smiled as she turned the page, beginning a chapter called, “Tuesday and Mars”.

I love the feed back. I hope to be writing more soon, unfortunately real life is getting in the way. But thanks for all the positive feed back! :)
