Grammy Narcissa?
A/N~~ alright alright, stop with the pestering lol...Here's another chapter! I hope you enjoy it because I know for a fact there won't be another for a couple days at least. First, little guy's got a Doctor appt. long day with that; the evil ex is still around and annoying, and finally the childrens' holiday concert is coming up in a couple of days! Whew!
Everyone, thanks for reviewing, loving the story, giving wonderful criticism, and begging for more! Thank you thank you thank you!
For one reviewer who castigated me for updating, but not adding a chapter, well, I noticed a mistake and edited the latest chapter. I'm sorry if that bothered you. Also, I thought it was polite to tell readers why the next update would take so long, but reassure them that an update *will* arrive.
Thanks again everyone, and keep reviewing!
until next time

Draco woke to the pecking of his owl. He’d fallen asleep in the recliner again and the damn bird was sitting on the arm tapping on his arm. He grumbled, told the bird to go to the owlery for breakfast, then opened the letter he’d yanked off hastily. A response from his mother. Just what he needed to start the day. He opened the scroll and sighed. She was arriving for brunch, at 10 in the morning to see him and Lilah. He’d have to tell Hermione that Narcissa was coming.
Looking at the clock he saw it was an hour earlier than his alarm would wake him. He stood, stretched and cast a refreshing spell. Draco drew a deep breath and went to open Lilah’s open. She was sprawled out on her bed and in the bare light he could tell she had cried herself to sleep. His heart ached for the pain she was enduring, but until she learned to listen to him, there was nothing he could do. He didn’t want to hurt her anymore, not about Adrianna and not about her mother. Closing her door softly, he left their quarters, charming the main door so that the girl couldn’t leave unless there was an emergency, calling a house-elf to watch her while he went to Hermione. He figured she’d want as much time as possible to get ready for his mother’s arrival.
‘Doesn’t the woman ever lock the damn door?’ He wondered grouchily when he walked into her quarters fifteen minutes later. RJ’s door was open; the boy was sleeping on his stomach, limbs all over the bed, snoring like a Hippogriff. From the door, Draco could see some of Hermione in his facial features, but the boy was obviously Ron Weasley’s son. He closed the door gently and went to Adrianna’s. Her bed was empty. Worried, Draco opened Hermione’s door to find the two of them curled up together. He smiled and re-closed the door. They had comforted each other during the night and still looked tired.
He couldn’t remember Alicia holding Lilah like that, not since the girl was three or four years old, before her magic had manifested. He longed to go in and lie down behind Hermione and hold her close. Shaking his head at his own folly, he turned toward her desk and penned a short note, telling her that his mother was going to visit later and he would bring her by to meet them. He folded it and wrote her name across the top, leaving it on the door with a sticking spell. He hoped she found it in time to get ready for the arrival of Narcissa Malfoy.
Narcissa arrived at the school at 11 am. She Apparated to the front gates then let herself onto the grounds. She lifted the hem of her royal blue robes over the misty grass as she strode towards the front entrance. She hurried without seeming to hurry. Her son had owled her to come visit him and he couldn’t refuse her only child, especially with the horrible time that woman had put him through. If only Draco would let her go to America and talk to her former daughter-in-law, but he wouldn’t allow it. The pure-blooded witch could see the Muggle woman as a toad. Quite easily in fact. Narcissa sighed: maybe her son would allow it as an early birthday present. She knocked on the door and drew herself up to her full regal self as Severus himself answered the summons.
“Mrs. Malfoy. To what do we owe this honor?” He sneered. He couldn’t forget the Vow she’d had him take thirteen years before.
“I’m here to see my son and granddaughter, you oaf. Show me where they are.” She ordered imperiously. Severus cocked an eyebrow at the widow Malfoy.
“You have a wand. Use it. Or were your seven years here only for landing Lucius?”
“I’ll show you what my wand can be used for, you half-blooded bastard.”
“Mother! What a lovely cloak. It’s alright, Headmaster, I’ll take my mother from here.” Draco skidded to a halt in front of the two. He hadn’t wanted his god-father and his mother anywhere near each other. She blamed Severus for the curses Draco had had to endure under Voldemort’s hand, while Severus blamed her for forcing him to kill his mentor and friend.
“My pleasure, Professor Malfoy. Good day, Mrs. Malfoy.”
“Good bye, Severus.”
Draco took his mother’s hand and kissed the knuckles as his mentor turned and walked away with a swish of his billowing robes. Narcissa reached up and kissed her son’s cheek.
“You need to visit more often, son. Who am I to talk to? The house-elves? And I want to see Lilah. Has she come around about living here, yet?”
“No, Mother. In fact, she has had a bit of a setback. Something has come up here at the school. Something quite unexpected. It’s best if we continue this discussion in my quarters.” He gently led his mother by the elbow down into the bowels of the castle, nodding greetings to various students as they passed.
Lilah frowned at the entrance of her grandmother, who criticized her at every turn.
“Sit up straight, child. You’re a Malfoy; you must have proper etiquette. My word, didn’t her mother teach her anything?”
“Mother.” Draco hissed warningly as he saw his daughter’s face go from pale ivory to pink. He didn’t need another tantrum like the one she’d had the night before. “Lilah, please sit up.”
Like most American children, she was slouched in the love seat, one leg cocked over the arm of the furniture, leaning sideways on one elbow while reading a comic book she’d just unpacked. Frowning at the two adults, she sat up and stiffened her spine as expected, rolling her eyes the entire time. “Better?”
“Significantly so, Lilah. How do you like living in the castle, even if Severus Snape is here?”
“I want to go home. I’m gonna write to Mom and have her come get me. This place sucks.” Lilah smiled widely at her grandmother as she told the older witch how she felt. Draco closed his eyes as his mother advanced on her granddaughter. Narcissa grinned and laughed as she bent down to kiss the girl on her cheek.
“Ah, definitely a Malfoy, despite the lack of proper elocution and etiquette. You’ll adjust, little one. For you to be the Malfoy heir, you are going to have to learn these things ultimately.” Narcissa sat next to Lilah, having taken her cloak off and handing it to her son. Draco sighed and hung it up next to his own.
“Right.”
“Mother, I need to tell you something.”
“Oh, great. I gotta hear it again?” Lilah sneered, giving her father an expression that would have put Elvis Presley to shame.
“Sit tight. You’re going to have to deal with the situation, Lilah, whether you want to or not. So, yes, you’re listening again.” Draco drew a deep breath, knelt next to his mother and took her slender aristocratic hands in his. “Mother, I have another daughter. I slept with a girl in my last year of Hogwarts and got her pregnant. I just found out a while ago.”
Narcissa stared at her only child unblinking. “At least you have the decency to tell me in person than in a letter like when you married her. Now, where is this granddaughter of mine? I’m assuming she’s a student here as she’d probably be old enough for her first year.”
“Yes, she is a student here, but her mother is a teacher here also. My daughter’s name is Adrianna Weasley.” He flinched and closed one eye, watching his mother out of the other. Narcissa frowned as she thought about his revelation.
“You were with the Weasley girl? She married Potter, though!”
“No, Hermione Weasley is Adrianna’s mother. She’s the Transfigurations teacher. She married Ron Weasley while she was pregnant and was widowed only a few years later.”
“My granddaughter is a Weasley?” Narcissa’s voice lowered, signaling her loss of patience. Again, Draco flinched. Lilah sat with her arms crossed tightly over her chest again, glaring at the two of them. She wasn’t used to being ignored so thoroughly. She was an only child and Daddy’s little girl. Lilah bit her bottom lip to keep from crying as she realized that neither was true anymore.
“Yes. She was raised a Weasley. She knows about me and for now, we are going to keep things as they are, for her own security. Adrianna is only 11, remember.”
“She’s a Malfoy. I want to see her.” Narcissa stared down her son with identical gray/blue eyes. He sighed and nodded.
“Don’t get them upset, Mother. Hermione is quite protective of her children. She has a son with Ron, who adores his older sister, even if they fight constantly.”
Narcissa stood and ran her hands down the front of her dress, her only outward sign of nervousness. “Come along, Lilah.”
“No, thanks.”
“Lilah, remain in these quarters. Floo the Weasley rooms if you need anything.” Draco stood and kissed his daughter’s forehead. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tight before he pulled away. “I love you, rugrat. Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?”
“Yeah.”
“Ahem.” Narcissa cleared her throat and frowned down at her granddaughter. Lilah rolled her eyes again.
“I mean, yes, sir.” Lilah smiled prettily at her grandmother, then opened her comic book up, ignoring the two adults quickly. Draco sighed at his daughter’s antics, took his mother’s hand and led her from the quarters. He hoped Hermione had gotten his message.
