I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
To Heaven
A/N: yay a previous engagment was canceld so I had a bunch of free time to write. *does tap dance* I really like this chapter. Mangacat welcome back, *winks*. Yeah I liked Hades too, he'll play a major role in the sequal if I ever get around to writing it. Got to finish this first don't I. Eeek I was so uncertian about Hiaro and Ron's first time I hope I got it right. At least the way I envesioned it. Well Enjoy and see you later.
Hiaro watched as Ron turned away from him to face the horror of death reaching out to engulf his sister, and him for interfering. As long as Hari was safe Hiaro did not care what became of him. But that look Ron had given him just before he turned, he would do anything to see such a look again. So when a shadowy being rushed him from behind he was grateful for Hermione’s quick action.
The thing bounced off what seemed to be an invisible wall as she spoke the Shojinian words. He smiled at her gratefully for a split second then was forced to protect himself from something dark and malevolent spurting from the ground. Without his sword and being unable to move he could not defeat any of them, but he could deter them for as long as possible. Hopefully it was long enough.
Hari was kneeling over Fred her hands pressed against his forehead the heavenly bright light surrounding them painful to be hold. Her voice resonated with gentle power, the young man whom she held stared at her in rapt fascination as if she held his soul in her hands.
Ron was battling off Hades minions in an effort to keep her safe, Hiaro felt his heart slam into his chest when something scaly with dripping claws raked across his back.
“Hiaro on your left!”
Simon’s warning came none too soon, Hiaro barely had time to erect a barrier before a wraith like being attacked him from the left. Although Ron was in danger he had to focus, easier said then done. Whatever Hari was doing she had better do soon, they were coming faster as if they could sense they were about to loose. Hermione was helping him but Hades knew if he could get to Hiaro then Ron would falter and Hari would be at his mercy.
The wraiths were relentless. And he was growing tired, he erected another barrier which a wraith with wings and blazing eyes slammed into with a hiss of rage only to disappear and reaper at his back. Hermione protected his back but Hiaro still felt the blast of splintering heat on his back as the wraith hissed hot breath on him.
Ron vanquished yet another wraith trying to reach his sister but feeling Hiaro’s pain he faltered a little.
“RON ABOVE YOU!” Lee shouted in warning.
Hiaro cringed as something swooped from behind him to knock Ron off his feet and slamming into the ground. He struggled against Hades hold on him in desperation. He had to reach Ron! He fell forward in sudden surprise as the hold on him was released. He began to scramble to his feet.
“HIARO NO! It’s what he wants!” Hermione’s warning came too late.
Many months too late, he loved him and if they were going to die he wanted to do it next to him. He was running towards Ron’s fallen body not knowing what he could possibly do to protect him. He threw himself at the wraith hovering over his body.
He went right through it as if it were nothing but air. Then his skin felt as if it was burning as if he had dipped himself in acid. He began to scream even as he felt Ron’s arms wrap around him.
Ron was calling his name, he was aware of that just as he was aware that if he had to die, he wanted it to be like this, and for him.
Ron held him tight even as the wraiths screamed in triumph and swooped in to finish the both of them off. He held on tighter to Ron, oddly at peace with the entire thing.
I love you.
I know
Just as he felt the first touch of death there was a sudden shattering of sound and light, strong enough that he actually felt it in his body. Then the pain of the wraiths touch left him and the lights dancing in his eyes finally faded. He blinked away the colors swirling in front of his eyes.
Hari was kneeling as if in prayer, Fred was standing but he was not paying attention to any of them. His eyes were for the young man that had suddenly appeared before them. He was surrounded in Hari’s light, Hiaro suddenly understood that she had brought him here.
Fred reached out just as his Twin did the same. When their fingers touched their was a warm steady glow of light just before Fred’s fingers went through him.
“You really are gone. You’re going to leave me here alone aren’t you.” Was all he could say.
His twin nodded sadly. “I need to leave. You need to let me”
“You are my other half, I can’t…I just can’t….I shouldn’t love you like this I know but you’re all I’ve ever really loved.” Fred pleaded with him.
George reached out as if he would caress his brothers forehead but halted just before touching him. “You’re not alone. There was a time when we could both stand on our own, you can do it again. Don’t let it defeat you. You will all die here if you don’t. I want to go Fred, I want to sleep. I don’t belong with you anymore. Do you hate me for that?”
Fred shook his head tears leaking from his brown eyes as he tried once again to touch the one person who meant the most to him. “How do you go on without your heart?”
George smiled sadly and this time actually did touch his twin. Again their was the soft light of their skin touching before his fingers disappeared as if he were made of nothing but air. “Learn to love again.”
Fred took a deep shuddering breath. Hiaro suddenly felt sorry for him, he imagined what it would be like to loose Ron but still have his soul bound to him. He shuddered and felt Ron’s arms tighten around him in comfort.
Fred took one step back and gazed at his brother, his body trembling. “Go.”
George smiled then, not sadly but brilliantly. The glow surrounding him became brighter and Hiaro could hear the soft echo of childhood laughter. He could hear their memories their love of each other like a ghost in the wind. Fred shuddered as his own body began to glow, he fell to his knees when the light winked out and George disappeared.
Hari stood and placed a hand on his shoulder in comfort. The earth began to tremble with Hades rage.
“It’s time to leave.” Was all she said, he was suddenly surrounded in her light and the world was spinning beneath him.
And then his world went black.
~~~~~***~~~~***~~~
Hermione was aware of light and motion and a painful slamming feeling as she came back into her body. She shuddered and blinked only to find herself back in Fred’s room in the castle. She let out a gasping sob of relief the terror of the last few minutes finally catching up to her. She felt Lee’s hand on her shoulder but she was watching Ron.
He had been amazing back there, she had never seen him like that. Harry was always the strong one, the hero. She was the smart one who came up with the plans. Ron had always just been there, no less valued for his friendship but not…
He had changed while she was gone. The man before her eyes was strong and confident in himself in a way the boy she knew and remembered had never been. The boy was gone, and the man…The man was holding Hiaro’s unconscious form like it was a treasure. The man had protected her but his heart had been with the man he was now holding.
What had happened? Ron had always been hers, she had known it. They both had known that they found each other attractive. They both had been aware of the current swimming between them, they had even dipped into it a few times. She knew that if she reached for him Ron would always be there.
Not anymore. She was reaching but Ron was no longer there to hear her call. He had gone and done something she hadn’t expected and didn’t understand. And then Ron tore his eyes away from Hiaro and glanced at her.
“Hermione are you ok? You didn’t get hurt?” He asked softly. Hermione shook her head unable to speak. She was in love with him, she always had been. Was she about to loose him? Beside her Simon was rising to his feet to stand next to Hari. He wrapped his arms around her and whispered something in her ear. Ron did not tear his eyes away from her. She scooted towards him and put a hand on his shoulder.
She wanted him to tell her he was still in love with her, that what she had thought she heard and witnessed back in that hell had been her imagination.
“I’m O.K. You were amazing back there, we all would have died if it weren’t for you. I’m proud of you.” Should she kiss him, a few months ago she would have, she would have been assured that she could kiss him and he would be waiting for her.
Waiting, the both of them had done far too much waiting. Ron had always waited for her, she had been waiting for him. Had he grown weary of waiting? She wrapped her arms around him and leaned her head on his shoulder. She was trembling, she prayed that he would smile down at her and kiss her and tell her he loved her and that they could both stop waiting.
Except there was the war to finish, then there was all her plans…he would still be waiting.
Was that fair to him? No but Damnit if you loved someone what was a little waiting! She loved him and would wait…
Except she hadn’t. She had indeed grown tired of waiting for him to ask her to the Yule Ball and could have asked him. She had gone with Viktor instead. He had grown tired of waiting for her and Gone with Lavender. It was only then that she fought hard to keep him, when she was threatened with loosing him.
“I’m going to take him to his room, I want to tend his wounds.” Ron said. He had not kissed her, he offered her a comforting squeeze and pulled out of her grasp and lifted the body of Hiaro to his chest and began to walk away. She watched him leave.
Ron and Hiaro. It just didn’t…no just couldn’t be.
“Don’t fight for him.” The sound of Lee’s voice so close to her startled her so that she jumped.
“I have no idea what you mean.” She sniffed turning away from him. What did Lee know about it anyway, Ron was the straightest male she knew, and he loved her. He had always been there and always would be, she was making more of his friendship for Hiaro then was there. She didn’t need to fight for him because he was hers and always had been.
“Yes you do. Don’t fight for him now, you’ll only hurt both of you.” Lee cautioned.
She was suddenly very angry with him, Lee was always so confident and cock sure of himself. So lazy and indifferent! He had never been in love who was he to lecture her!
“I love him! And theirs nothing to fight for Hiaro’s a man and Ron would never do that! It’s just not Ron.” She reprimanded him in a tone that usually assured obedience and the end of a conversation.
“Hermione, are you guys ok up there, what’s wrong?” Harry’s voice rippled inside her being.
Lee was shaking his head, “Are you blind, what he feels for Hiaro was written all over his face back there. You obviously don’t know him as well as you thought you did. Look Granger not to get your back up but you were always under the delusion that he was going to wait around forever for you. He was like a pair of comfortable shoes that you don’t really need, but because they’re yours you have an aversion to letting other people wear them, just because it points out to you that you don‘t really need them.”
“Ron isn’t a pair of shoes Lee!” She snapped at him, angry with the truth wringing in his words.
“Exactly so stop treating him like something you can wear then shove in a closet whenever you feel like it. He was in pain and you left him here for your own plans. Fine for a friend but not fine for someone who is supposed to love him. When it suits you, you pick him up and put him on when it doesn’t you brush him aside. And both of you up until now have been ok with this because it was comfortable and neither of you was in love with anyone else. Now he’s in love with someone else and you just need to let it go, if you start a fuss now you’ll only hurt what you still have with….”
“Hermione what happened up there, do you want me too….”
“SHUT UP! Stop it! You don’t know anything about it or me Lee! I didn’t treat him like that! And he didn’t treat me like that, you make me sound like some sort of whore! How dare you! Just sodd off and leave me alone Jordan!”
She was scrambling to her feet and fleeing the room in tears, Lee staring after her.
Harry glanced up at the ceiling wishing he could see through it, the turbulent emotions coming from Hermione were like a wave. He glanced at Draco who stood at his side.
“My guess is she found out about Ron and Hiaro.” Draco shrugged.
Harry winced, he had become so used to seeing Hiaro and Ron together, watching them fall in love that for him it seemed more then natural for the two to be together. He had forgotten that for Hermione this would be a shock and a betrayal.
He was about to remark that maybe he should go up and check on her when Severus came into the hall, he looked admitted and jumpy, Harry could feel waves of mingled excitement and nervousness coming off him.
“Potter I have just received some word from Narcissa. She has located the last and final horcrux and is even now a part of the party going to retrieve it.”
Harry felt a spurt of both excitement and alarm all at once. This was good news, that meant Narcissa could tell them where it was and he could destroy it! Then all he would have to do was face Voldemort, this could all be over so soon. He felt Draco stiffen and the worry swimming in his body and put a hand on his shoulder.
“My mother’s not in any danger is she Severus?” he demanded of the older man.
Snape looked disgruntled as he nodded, “Not as of yet but if we’re going to destroy it we’ll need her help and she’ll be in the thick of it then.”
Draco paled a little Harry gripped his hand and offered him a wave of comfort. “We’ll find a way Draco, we do tend to get into some nasty scrapes but we’ve gotten out of them just the same.” He turned back to Snape. “We’ll call an Order meeting in the morning, Right now I think every one needs a little cool down time and a little rest.”
Snape nodded obviously preoccupied with his own thoughts, “Where is my ever so errant dog?” He asked suddenly as if the thought had just came to him.
Harry grinned, “you mean Sirius? Minerva sent him on a quick mission.” Harry tried to wipe the grin off his face as Snape paled a little and looked ready to do murder.
“She what? It’s dangerous out there! Why wasn’t I consulted about this!” He demanded sharply.
The hall doors swooped open and Sirius came striding in looking slightly tired but amused all the same, “Because you’d react like this, I wasn’t in any danger and since you were going to have a hissy fit about it we just did it. And decided I‘d listen to the fit after it was done.”
Harry chuckled then and turned away not wanting to draw Snapes ire to him. Draco rolled his eyes but Harry could feel his own amusement as if it was in his own body.
“It’s not funny Sirius. I don’t want to loose you, I don’t want anything to happen to you.” For such endearing words Snape sure had a way of saying them with demand and harshness.
This time it was Sirius who rolled his eyes, “Gee that was so sweet I’m melting, I went and got an Owl for her in the middle of the woods, hardly a class one for danger. If you’re going to yell at me lets do it in the privacy of our own room, because afterwards you have a tendency to jump me.” Here Sirius grinned wickedly. “Which is the reason I put up with you.”
Snape shot Harry a glare as one of his laughs escaped him, and glared at Sirius. With very little heat, Harry could see the corners of his mouth twitch. “I’m beginning to wonder why I put up with you at all.” he remarked grudgingly.
“Because you love me. And I make you burn.” Sirius laughed his voice echoing inside Severus mind. Here where they were private Snape found it easier to say what was on his mind.
“So do you understand why I don’t like you putting yourself if danger?”
“Yes but I wasn‘t in any danger.”
“you could have been, nothing is certain.”
“Some things are.”
“Like what.”
“Like my desire to have you. And that by the way is forever so have you scolded me enough now?”
Sirius was rewarded with Severus smile, he felt greedy when it came to that smile. It was his and for him alone and he would never get enough of it. Severus turned back to Harry and Draco nodded to them both and said. “We’ll discuss further plans in the morning. I’ll see you then.” He and Sirius began to walk from he hall together and Harry couldn’t help chiming in.
“What about Dinner?”
He laughed when Snape gave him a pointed look and placed one hand on Sirius’s arm. “I’ll be missing it, I’m feeling rather peaky. Sirius is too, we’ll be sleeping it off.”
~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***
Hiaro woke to the feel of warm fingers caressing his cheeks, he moved into that touch recognizing it as he would recognize it anywhere. Without opening his eyes he asked, “So we’re alive?”
“Yes, we made it. Thanks to you, that thing would have got me if it weren’t for you. It nearly killed you I…”
He interrupted before Ron could finish, “If you’re going to reprimand me for nearly dieing to save you save your breath. If I had to die for you I would do it a million times and that’s just that.”
Ron stared down at Hiaro with something close to wonder in his eyes, loyalty. Hiaro had that in abundance, when he loved he gave undying and unwavering loyalty. That had got him into trouble and caused him heart ache in the past. Ron felt a sudden shimmer of rage in his gut at the thought of Kenshi and all he had put Hiaro through.
“You aren’t the tainted one you know. You gave him something very few people ever receive and that’s unconditional loyalty and love and he abused it.” He bit out, he was clenching Hiaro’s arms a little too hard and eased up a little with an abashed grin.
“I know, you made me realize that. You know it’s funny that the title and the man I hated would one day give me the greatest happiness. You make me happy Ron, even if you’re uncomfortable with the sex part of things I’m happy just to be with you. You do know that don’t you?”
If there was a god one day Ron had to thank him. There was not enough he could do to thank him, never would be. He stood, then leaned over till both his hands were placed on the pillow beside Hiaro’s head and he was inches away from the mouth that had uttered such words of love and devotion.
“Are you really, well that’s a shame because I was thinking I’m ready to give it another go, but if you’re happy with…”
He didn’t get to finish because Hiaro was laughing and pulling him down onto the bed by his shirt collar. Their lips met in a sweet meshing of satin and velvet, Ron felt chills shoot up his spine and heat sear into his body. He felt weak and energized all at once, there was no room for nervousness or even embracement with the feelings swirling inside his body.
His lips trailed a path down the column of Hiaro’s throat, it was like touching silk. So very soft and pale as pearls, he couldn’t get enough of his taste, salt and skin and something so purely Hiaro it was driving him wild. His hands dug into the raven lochs of his hair as Hiaro let out a keening noise of pleasure and arched up against him. Ron felt a slight jar at the feel of his erection pressing against his own. It was definitely different even startling.
It also sent desire swirling through his blood in a hail storm and he wanted more then anything to feel it again. He could feel his arms trembling a little but he absolutely refused to let his uncertainty drive him away from what he wanted. He moved against him and was rewarded with a starburst of sensation in his body. It was heady and addicting and he let out a moan of pleasure of Hiaro moved against him in increasingly frenzied movements.
He unwrapped him like a present, he was a present the greatest gift he had ever received. As Ron removed his shirt he marveled at the expanse of his chest and the difference between them. Hiaro was flat and hard where women were usually rounded and soft.
“What are you thinking about?” Hiaro asked a little breathlessly.
Ron let one finger trace down the planes of Hiaro’s chest and found delight in the shiver and contracting of Hiaro’s muscles that this caused. “That I can work with what I already know how to do.” He responded as he leaned forward.
He took one dusky nipple into his mouth and tasted. Different…the same…he didn’t care. Hiaro let out a cry and nearly shot off the bed and Ron was lost in the taste of him. Perfect. Heaven. He could never get enough. He nipped, not quite able to resist the urge but licked away any of the pain he might have caused.
Hiaro was removing his shirt so Ron had to abandon momentarily his homage, once it was gone he was drawn back to his ministrations. Hiaro was vibrating beneath him and that he understood perfectly. He needed to take. He needed to touch, both of their hands were moving grasping in a sudden frenzy of need and heat. He was a volcano of heat on the brink of erupting. Flashes of white hot heat , curls of keen edged longing raced through his system as they grappled and tore away cloths.
He needed… He wanted he ached… Raw heady heat closing around him like a fist was what he desired and Hiaro could give it to him. He was arching beneath him more demand then offer and it occurred to him that Hiaro might want the same thing. He knew what he liked and did it without thinking.
He had never held another man like that before and the shock of heat going through his fingers at the first touch was enough to burn him. Some things were just instinct, he caressed his length until Hiaro was thrashing beneath him and his own body was on the breaking point.
Except here was where his knowledge ran out. He halted for a split moment.
“Oh god… don’t you dare turn chicken on me now…I might kill you…” Hiaro groaned into his side.
Ron had to laugh at that, there was no way in hell he was stopping but he had no idea where to go from here. “ I think I need your help from here.” He admitted and because he just had to be touching him, his body was demanding it he stroked him again.
Hiaro let out a gasping moan and shivered beneath him. “Are you scared” He managed to ask although talking seemed to become increasingly difficult.
“Yes a little but I need to be inside you a whole lot more right now and since I don’t know how to do that you better hurry up and tell me.”
Hiaro nodded and moved beneath him, Ron let him get up but didn’t take his hands off his hips. He needed to be touching him, the feel of his skin was both keeping him sane and driving him to insanity. Hiaro rummaged around in the dresser beside the bed Ron leaned across his back and had to shiver with pleasure at the feeling that position brought him. Especially when Hiaro backed up against him, he had to suck in a breath it was either that or curse.
Hiaro chuckled, “Go ahead and curse, Scream if you want to.” He said as he finally found whatever it was he was searching for in the drawer. It was a vial of something that Ron thought he had a vague idea of what it was used for. He felt a shiver of apprehension go through him.
“I’ll do it the first time if it will make you feel better?” Hiaro offered unscrewing the top and dipping two fingers inside.
No…it was suddenly imperative that he feel…he couldn’t name it but he wanted to feel it. When Hiaro reached behind himself Ron grabbed his wrist halting his movements.
“No…I can do it. I’m a big brave man remember.” he laughed nervously. He took up the vial off the dresser top and stuck his fingers inside. The gel like liquid was cool to the touch and oddly familiar feeling. It was a wet slide on his fingers that he was familiar with and he grinned a little.
“Watching you do that is driving me crazy!” Hiaro reprimanded him breathlessly. He chuckled apologetically.
“Sorry, I think I can do this.” He assured him.
“Good because if you stop in the middle I’ll murder you.” Hiaro bit out.
Ron laughed, nuzzling the back of his neck and planting a kiss there. “you’d murder someone you loved.”
“I might even now if you don’t hurry.”
Ron laughed and with his free hand caressed the skin of Hiaro’s backside. Would he ever get enough of how great that felt? “Where?” He asked his breath coming out in odd pants.
Hiaro moved against him and Ron bit back a groan, it was all the answer he needed. That searing hot heat was slamming into his blood again driving away all sense of reason. At the first touch of his fingers in that tight warm channel he felt a jolt slam into his body and he once again sucked in a harsh breath. Hot not quite wet as he was used to but tight and warm just the same and driving him insane with the feel.
He almost recklessly drove both fingers inside suddenly wanting to climb immerge himself in that beckoning heat. Hiaro bucked upwards beneath him the world was spinning faster and faster as if they had leaped on a spinning carousel and all that kept them earth bound was the glorious feeling of their bodies entangled together.
“Right now… Oh god Right now…” Hiaro pressed up against him in hard driving movements a demand that would not be ignored.
He was mindless, he was drowning as he plunged letting his body take over and his mind go. There was nothing but the relentless fury to feel him wrapped around him and to plunge deeper and deeper inside. He felt him tighten around him and he let out a growl as he thrust harder inside him.
Hiaro was shouting, panting saying something so incoherent. Whatever it was Ron was beyond hearing, cries of pleasure and he suspected curses were being wrung from his own body but he didn’t care.
Nothing was deep enough! He was spiraling out of control, they were both edging towards a height just beyond their reach. When he reached out to grasp Hiaro’s erection the duel sensation of being inside him and wrapping his hands around him sent him hurtling towards the edge.
When Hiaro climaxed he felt it rip through his own body like madness. Pleasure was like a geyser through him flooding his senses swamping his reason. He was soaring free, and Hiaro was tightening around him taking him with him over the edge. And for the first time in his life he was more then happy to fall.
He didn’t know how long he lay there crumpled on top of Hiaro but when it finally came to him that he might be crushing him with his weight he could barely find the energy to roll off of him. He did manage it with a groan as their bodies disconnected and he lay there languid and panting for breath.
“Is…it always like that…” he rasped unable to form a larger sentence.
“No… just with you…” Was the muttered reply he received.
He felt triumph swirl in his blood and reached out to gather Hiaro to his chest. He could lay like this forever, pressing his nose into the soft lochs of the smaller mans hair and breathing in his scent.
“I love you. I’m sorry I made you wait so long.” He whispered against his ear. He couldn’t resist letting his tongue dart out to caress the skin just behind it. He felt Hiaro shiver a little against him and his body begin to heat again.
“Well worth the wait, if you ask me.” Was his only reply before he moved to straddle him. He grinned down at him. “Ready for me to teach you something else, or do you want to take it a day at a time?”
Ron grabbed his shoulders and rolled him beneath him. Answer enough for both of them.
~~~~~~***~~~~~~~****~~~~
What had he done.
Fred lay on his bed alone and shivered. He had killed, blood was staining his hands and his soul. True it could be argued that he had been out of his mind but it didn’t appease him. He was a murderer. What must Ron think of him, what would his parents think. What would Angie think?
Oh god Angelina, he hadn’t even thought about her since he had seen her brought to the dungeons. He had been so swamped in his own pain and insanity that he had been uncaring of the world around him. He shivered again where he lay a tear sliding down his cheek.
He had made a mess of things, he had tampered with things un meant to be tampered with and nearly damned himself. Or perhaps he had succeeded, after all he was a cold blooded killer the woman he loved was in the hands of the Death Eaters and he had not even cared enough to try and help her.
He loved her, he always had. And he had failed her. Not just at the prison but long before that. When he bound his soul to his brothers caring more about the bond they shared then any other love.
“Sometimes Fred I think if George and I were drowning you’d save George.”
“No I wouldn’t I couldn’t make that choice. I think you would both die because I hope I never have to make that choice.”
She had teased him about it, both of them unaware that Fred would indeed have to make that choice one day. He had chosen George just like she always knew he would. And she loved him anyway.
“You know I watch you two together and I think I fall in love with you a little more. I see the love and devotion you give him and I can’t help but want even just a little of that for myself.”
He had been selfish and deluded all his life and she had loved him anyway.
He balled his fists against his sheets. Well he was going to get her out of there, she had every right to hate him, even be repulsed by the things he had done. He had failed let her down enough, let everyone he loved down.
He got out of bed, he had to work on an antidote to his creation. Then he was going to rescue Angie and let her go.
~~~***~~~***~~~~
Narcissa shivered a little inside the tent that Lucius had erected for her and the other members of the party going to collect the Horcrux. She had already messaged Severus telling him they were only a mile outside their destination, but there were traps and defenses to get around. The Dark Lord would direct them on how to do just that, was in fact now in council with Lucius and the others. He had left her alone in the tent. He wasn’t going to let her in the cave with them, wasn’t trusting her anywhere near his masters precious necklace.
He wasn’t a fool, and neither was she. She knew that at the end of the day tomorrow the Horcux would be destroyed and she would most likely be killed with it. Or if worse came to worst Harry and her son could be dead the order defeated and she dead with them. Either way she knew her husband was not going to buy any more coincidences and as soon as they came under attack he was going to do one of two things. Attack their son, which she would never allow; or attack her which served the same purpose.
Was she afraid, yes horrified.
Was she going to go through with it?
Now that was a question, she had always done exactly as she was told looking out for her own interests. All that had changed twenty years ago when she held her son for the first time. She couldn’t think about herself anymore, not with that tiny helpless being depending on her, gazing up at her with need and adoration.
Draco had chosen Harry and the lightside. He could die for that, Lucius and the dark lord would try their best to achieve this end. She would never allow that, she would die first.
The tent flap opened and her husband stepped inside. In some ways she loved him, he represented the things she had always been taught to cherish. Money, wealth, and power. She also hated him, she thought of Andromeda and Ted and the love they had shared. Her sister had possessed the courage and the foresight to know exactly what it was she wanted for herself. A man who loved, who cherished. There was more to life then power and wealth.
Narcissa had once held the love of a man who loved her like Ted had loved Andy. She smiled wistfully to herself thinking about Severus. Severus had adored her been plain infatuated with her beauty and her grace. Had she had the courage she would even now perhaps be married to him.
And Draco would never have been born and Harry would have no chance of defeating the Dark Lord. Fate was a funny thing.
“What are you smiling about Narcissa?” Lucius asked rather waspishly for him.
“It’s all going to be over soon isn’t it Lucius. I’ll be glad when all the discord is over, then maybe our Son will come home.” An answer he would accept.
Lucius snorted in contempt, “You would do better to hope he stayed away. Yes this war will be over soon and Potter will be dead and we’ll have one. While our son instead of fighting beside his kin and kind hides in the wilds with that traitor Snape! If he dares to show his face in the empire the Dark Lord would take much delight in ending him.”
She hated this man. She smiled at him, “It’s only right I suppose. I’ll miss him, sometimes I lay awake at night and remember him at home with the horses or laying on a couch in the manor house. I remember how he used to like to guzzle the sweets I would make for him.”
Lucius eyed her with disdain, “You’re such a woman Narcissa. That’s your problem you think with that weak little heart of yours. It is my hope that you will think with your head in the next few days. The Dark Lord is steps away from winning Potter will be drawn here and when he shows up this will all end. The world shall become the Dark ones Empire and we shall rein at its tops! You were always meant to be a queen Narcissa, don’t throw it away for foolish ideals.”
She smiled at him again and placed one hand on his cheek. “I made my choice years ago Lucius. You needn’t worry about anything.”
Lucius snarled clenching her wrist, “I worry about nothing woman, if you betray me again like you did when you let that traitor and that whelp who you dare to name my son escape I will kill you myself! I offer you this one last and final warning.” He shoved her backwards in contempt and left the tent.
She rubbed at her aching wrist, her thoughts not on her husbands threats or the threat of death looming over her head. Her thoughts were on a long ago summer day in the manor gardens. The flowers had smelled heavenly the breeze on her face just as brilliant. Her thoughts and her peace lay with the small boy with the flaxen blonde hair laying in the grass staring dreamily up at the sky.
He rarely smiled when his father was around, his father was always trying to beat the weakness out of him. That sharp walking cane he carried had slammed into his flesh to many times to inspire smiles when he was around. But there in the garden with his mother, his father away on business and nothing but the soft summer air around them. Her little boy had smiled and dreamed.
She smiled to herself, that was heaven and if she had to die she knew it was to a place like that where she would go.

Harry woke to the feel of Draco’s lips darting across his shoulder like the touch of butterfly wings. He smiled and moved closer to him.
“We have to get up, meetings directly after breakfast.” He whispered as he traced a path of kisses across his body.
“How much you want to bet I can make you forget about the meeting.” he taunted playful rubbing against him.
He heard Draco moan a little and then chuckle, “Harry learn some responsibility!” He admonished.
Harry grinned at him and leaned over to flick his tongue across those perfect pink lips that always insisted on scolding him. “I’m going to make you forget Responsibility.”
Harry kept his promise, by the time he was done Draco had forgotten what his name was nevertheless being on time for breakfast.
It was Sly who dragged them out of bed, reminding them of their duty in his normal haughty manner. Draco got dressed and so did Harry and the went to retrieve him.
When they did make it down to the dining hall it was already filling with Order members. Harry spied Ron right away, he was practically glowing this morning. He looked like a cat who had gotten into the crème he was leaning casually in his chair as he finished his breakfast.
Hiaro was as usual sitting beside him but they were both grinning at each other with such besotted grins that Draco snorted and rolled his eyes. “What does he want a prize?”
Harry chuckled, “Leave him alone he’s happy.”
Draco eyed the rest of the people present at Ron’s table and pointed out, “Yeah but Granger sure isn’t. There is going to be trouble there.”
“Well duh, what if you went away and came back to find me in love with someone else.” Harry scoffed.
“I’d murder you and your new lover, and Granger looks ready to do murder. Question is Harry as both their best friends who’s side are you on?” Draco asked quirking one flaxen eyebrow.
“Theirs. Whatever will make them happy, Hiaro makes Ron happy. Even when they were together Ron could never give Hermione the kind of contentment real love comes with. So therefore I want Ron to stay exactly where he is and I’ll try and get my errant friend to realize what she would have realized years down the road when it was much to late for them both.
Just as he finished saying this Seamus and Dean entered the hall. Dean was carrying Danny who was chattering excitedly about something Gabriella had done. Dean had his one free arm around Seamus waist and was grinning with such obvious joy that Harry felt a slight pang in his chest. He looked over at Draco, what would it be like to hold a squirmy warm little body to his chest. A being created from both their bodies and their love. He would have flaxen hair like the sun and smile up at him with Draco’s smile….
He would have to have him first and that is just too creepy to contemplate. He shivered a little, Draco eyed him with amusement. “You’re getting closer you know your bending, you want my children just admit it.”
“That I have no problem admitting, it’s getting them into the world I refuse to even contemplate.” Harry had to repress a shiver of revulsion.
Draco rolled his eyes in exasperation, “you’re fae Harry. It’s natural”
“Not to me. And if you’re so comfortable with it why don’t you have them then.” Harry scoffed. Draco just chuckled.
“Because you’re the submissive one.” He pointed out.
“Submissive? To you? You’re out of your mind.” Harry sneered with no true malice. He knew very well he adored being beneath Draco. Loved everything about him. Well almost everything.
“Well you sure aren’t out of bed that’s for sure, so take heart.” Draco chuckled, Harry punched him on the arm. They had reached the table by then and Ron greeted them with a smile.
“Hey Harry, Seamus and others have a seat. I’d gobble down some food before the bad news comes in.”
Amen to that, Harry was under no delusion that things were about to get any easier, in fact they were sure to get a whole lot worse.
A/N: Oh and I forgot to mention I felt a little bad for Hermione but I have plans for her so take heart.
~~~~~***~~~~***~~~
Hermione was aware of light and motion and a painful slamming feeling as she came back into her body. She shuddered and blinked only to find herself back in Fred’s room in the castle. She let out a gasping sob of relief the terror of the last few minutes finally catching up to her. She felt Lee’s hand on her shoulder but she was watching Ron.
He had been amazing back there, she had never seen him like that. Harry was always the strong one, the hero. She was the smart one who came up with the plans. Ron had always just been there, no less valued for his friendship but not…
He had changed while she was gone. The man before her eyes was strong and confident in himself in a way the boy she knew and remembered had never been. The boy was gone, and the man…The man was holding Hiaro’s unconscious form like it was a treasure. The man had protected her but his heart had been with the man he was now holding.
What had happened? Ron had always been hers, she had known it. They both had known that they found each other attractive. They both had been aware of the current swimming between them, they had even dipped into it a few times. She knew that if she reached for him Ron would always be there.
Not anymore. She was reaching but Ron was no longer there to hear her call. He had gone and done something she hadn’t expected and didn’t understand. And then Ron tore his eyes away from Hiaro and glanced at her.
“Hermione are you ok? You didn’t get hurt?” He asked softly. Hermione shook her head unable to speak. She was in love with him, she always had been. Was she about to loose him? Beside her Simon was rising to his feet to stand next to Hari. He wrapped his arms around her and whispered something in her ear. Ron did not tear his eyes away from her. She scooted towards him and put a hand on his shoulder.
She wanted him to tell her he was still in love with her, that what she had thought she heard and witnessed back in that hell had been her imagination.
“I’m O.K. You were amazing back there, we all would have died if it weren’t for you. I’m proud of you.” Should she kiss him, a few months ago she would have, she would have been assured that she could kiss him and he would be waiting for her.
Waiting, the both of them had done far too much waiting. Ron had always waited for her, she had been waiting for him. Had he grown weary of waiting? She wrapped her arms around him and leaned her head on his shoulder. She was trembling, she prayed that he would smile down at her and kiss her and tell her he loved her and that they could both stop waiting.
Except there was the war to finish, then there was all her plans…he would still be waiting.
Was that fair to him? No but Damnit if you loved someone what was a little waiting! She loved him and would wait…
Except she hadn’t. She had indeed grown tired of waiting for him to ask her to the Yule Ball and could have asked him. She had gone with Viktor instead. He had grown tired of waiting for her and Gone with Lavender. It was only then that she fought hard to keep him, when she was threatened with loosing him.
“I’m going to take him to his room, I want to tend his wounds.” Ron said. He had not kissed her, he offered her a comforting squeeze and pulled out of her grasp and lifted the body of Hiaro to his chest and began to walk away. She watched him leave.
Ron and Hiaro. It just didn’t…no just couldn’t be.
“Don’t fight for him.” The sound of Lee’s voice so close to her startled her so that she jumped.
“I have no idea what you mean.” She sniffed turning away from him. What did Lee know about it anyway, Ron was the straightest male she knew, and he loved her. He had always been there and always would be, she was making more of his friendship for Hiaro then was there. She didn’t need to fight for him because he was hers and always had been.
“Yes you do. Don’t fight for him now, you’ll only hurt both of you.” Lee cautioned.
She was suddenly very angry with him, Lee was always so confident and cock sure of himself. So lazy and indifferent! He had never been in love who was he to lecture her!
“I love him! And theirs nothing to fight for Hiaro’s a man and Ron would never do that! It’s just not Ron.” She reprimanded him in a tone that usually assured obedience and the end of a conversation.
“Hermione, are you guys ok up there, what’s wrong?” Harry’s voice rippled inside her being.
Lee was shaking his head, “Are you blind, what he feels for Hiaro was written all over his face back there. You obviously don’t know him as well as you thought you did. Look Granger not to get your back up but you were always under the delusion that he was going to wait around forever for you. He was like a pair of comfortable shoes that you don’t really need, but because they’re yours you have an aversion to letting other people wear them, just because it points out to you that you don‘t really need them.”
“Ron isn’t a pair of shoes Lee!” She snapped at him, angry with the truth wringing in his words.
“Exactly so stop treating him like something you can wear then shove in a closet whenever you feel like it. He was in pain and you left him here for your own plans. Fine for a friend but not fine for someone who is supposed to love him. When it suits you, you pick him up and put him on when it doesn’t you brush him aside. And both of you up until now have been ok with this because it was comfortable and neither of you was in love with anyone else. Now he’s in love with someone else and you just need to let it go, if you start a fuss now you’ll only hurt what you still have with….”
“Hermione what happened up there, do you want me too….”
“SHUT UP! Stop it! You don’t know anything about it or me Lee! I didn’t treat him like that! And he didn’t treat me like that, you make me sound like some sort of whore! How dare you! Just sodd off and leave me alone Jordan!”
She was scrambling to her feet and fleeing the room in tears, Lee staring after her.
Harry glanced up at the ceiling wishing he could see through it, the turbulent emotions coming from Hermione were like a wave. He glanced at Draco who stood at his side.
“My guess is she found out about Ron and Hiaro.” Draco shrugged.
Harry winced, he had become so used to seeing Hiaro and Ron together, watching them fall in love that for him it seemed more then natural for the two to be together. He had forgotten that for Hermione this would be a shock and a betrayal.
He was about to remark that maybe he should go up and check on her when Severus came into the hall, he looked admitted and jumpy, Harry could feel waves of mingled excitement and nervousness coming off him.
“Potter I have just received some word from Narcissa. She has located the last and final horcrux and is even now a part of the party going to retrieve it.”
Harry felt a spurt of both excitement and alarm all at once. This was good news, that meant Narcissa could tell them where it was and he could destroy it! Then all he would have to do was face Voldemort, this could all be over so soon. He felt Draco stiffen and the worry swimming in his body and put a hand on his shoulder.
“My mother’s not in any danger is she Severus?” he demanded of the older man.
Snape looked disgruntled as he nodded, “Not as of yet but if we’re going to destroy it we’ll need her help and she’ll be in the thick of it then.”
Draco paled a little Harry gripped his hand and offered him a wave of comfort. “We’ll find a way Draco, we do tend to get into some nasty scrapes but we’ve gotten out of them just the same.” He turned back to Snape. “We’ll call an Order meeting in the morning, Right now I think every one needs a little cool down time and a little rest.”
Snape nodded obviously preoccupied with his own thoughts, “Where is my ever so errant dog?” He asked suddenly as if the thought had just came to him.
Harry grinned, “you mean Sirius? Minerva sent him on a quick mission.” Harry tried to wipe the grin off his face as Snape paled a little and looked ready to do murder.
“She what? It’s dangerous out there! Why wasn’t I consulted about this!” He demanded sharply.
The hall doors swooped open and Sirius came striding in looking slightly tired but amused all the same, “Because you’d react like this, I wasn’t in any danger and since you were going to have a hissy fit about it we just did it. And decided I‘d listen to the fit after it was done.”
Harry chuckled then and turned away not wanting to draw Snapes ire to him. Draco rolled his eyes but Harry could feel his own amusement as if it was in his own body.
“It’s not funny Sirius. I don’t want to loose you, I don’t want anything to happen to you.” For such endearing words Snape sure had a way of saying them with demand and harshness.
This time it was Sirius who rolled his eyes, “Gee that was so sweet I’m melting, I went and got an Owl for her in the middle of the woods, hardly a class one for danger. If you’re going to yell at me lets do it in the privacy of our own room, because afterwards you have a tendency to jump me.” Here Sirius grinned wickedly. “Which is the reason I put up with you.”
Snape shot Harry a glare as one of his laughs escaped him, and glared at Sirius. With very little heat, Harry could see the corners of his mouth twitch. “I’m beginning to wonder why I put up with you at all.” he remarked grudgingly.
“Because you love me. And I make you burn.” Sirius laughed his voice echoing inside Severus mind. Here where they were private Snape found it easier to say what was on his mind.
“So do you understand why I don’t like you putting yourself if danger?”
“Yes but I wasn‘t in any danger.”
“you could have been, nothing is certain.”
“Some things are.”
“Like what.”
“Like my desire to have you. And that by the way is forever so have you scolded me enough now?”
Sirius was rewarded with Severus smile, he felt greedy when it came to that smile. It was his and for him alone and he would never get enough of it. Severus turned back to Harry and Draco nodded to them both and said. “We’ll discuss further plans in the morning. I’ll see you then.” He and Sirius began to walk from he hall together and Harry couldn’t help chiming in.
“What about Dinner?”
He laughed when Snape gave him a pointed look and placed one hand on Sirius’s arm. “I’ll be missing it, I’m feeling rather peaky. Sirius is too, we’ll be sleeping it off.”
~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***
~~~~~~***~~~~~~~****~~~~
What had he done.
Fred lay on his bed alone and shivered. He had killed, blood was staining his hands and his soul. True it could be argued that he had been out of his mind but it didn’t appease him. He was a murderer. What must Ron think of him, what would his parents think. What would Angie think?
Oh god Angelina, he hadn’t even thought about her since he had seen her brought to the dungeons. He had been so swamped in his own pain and insanity that he had been uncaring of the world around him. He shivered again where he lay a tear sliding down his cheek.
He had made a mess of things, he had tampered with things un meant to be tampered with and nearly damned himself. Or perhaps he had succeeded, after all he was a cold blooded killer the woman he loved was in the hands of the Death Eaters and he had not even cared enough to try and help her.
He loved her, he always had. And he had failed her. Not just at the prison but long before that. When he bound his soul to his brothers caring more about the bond they shared then any other love.
“Sometimes Fred I think if George and I were drowning you’d save George.”
“No I wouldn’t I couldn’t make that choice. I think you would both die because I hope I never have to make that choice.”
She had teased him about it, both of them unaware that Fred would indeed have to make that choice one day. He had chosen George just like she always knew he would. And she loved him anyway.
“You know I watch you two together and I think I fall in love with you a little more. I see the love and devotion you give him and I can’t help but want even just a little of that for myself.”
He had been selfish and deluded all his life and she had loved him anyway.
He balled his fists against his sheets. Well he was going to get her out of there, she had every right to hate him, even be repulsed by the things he had done. He had failed let her down enough, let everyone he loved down.
He got out of bed, he had to work on an antidote to his creation. Then he was going to rescue Angie and let her go.
Narcissa shivered a little inside the tent that Lucius had erected for her and the other members of the party going to collect the Horcrux. She had already messaged Severus telling him they were only a mile outside their destination, but there were traps and defenses to get around. The Dark Lord would direct them on how to do just that, was in fact now in council with Lucius and the others. He had left her alone in the tent. He wasn’t going to let her in the cave with them, wasn’t trusting her anywhere near his masters precious necklace.
He wasn’t a fool, and neither was she. She knew that at the end of the day tomorrow the Horcux would be destroyed and she would most likely be killed with it. Or if worse came to worst Harry and her son could be dead the order defeated and she dead with them. Either way she knew her husband was not going to buy any more coincidences and as soon as they came under attack he was going to do one of two things. Attack their son, which she would never allow; or attack her which served the same purpose.
Was she afraid, yes horrified.
Was she going to go through with it?
Now that was a question, she had always done exactly as she was told looking out for her own interests. All that had changed twenty years ago when she held her son for the first time. She couldn’t think about herself anymore, not with that tiny helpless being depending on her, gazing up at her with need and adoration.
Draco had chosen Harry and the lightside. He could die for that, Lucius and the dark lord would try their best to achieve this end. She would never allow that, she would die first.
The tent flap opened and her husband stepped inside. In some ways she loved him, he represented the things she had always been taught to cherish. Money, wealth, and power. She also hated him, she thought of Andromeda and Ted and the love they had shared. Her sister had possessed the courage and the foresight to know exactly what it was she wanted for herself. A man who loved, who cherished. There was more to life then power and wealth.
Narcissa had once held the love of a man who loved her like Ted had loved Andy. She smiled wistfully to herself thinking about Severus. Severus had adored her been plain infatuated with her beauty and her grace. Had she had the courage she would even now perhaps be married to him.
And Draco would never have been born and Harry would have no chance of defeating the Dark Lord. Fate was a funny thing.
“What are you smiling about Narcissa?” Lucius asked rather waspishly for him.
“It’s all going to be over soon isn’t it Lucius. I’ll be glad when all the discord is over, then maybe our Son will come home.” An answer he would accept.
Lucius snorted in contempt, “You would do better to hope he stayed away. Yes this war will be over soon and Potter will be dead and we’ll have one. While our son instead of fighting beside his kin and kind hides in the wilds with that traitor Snape! If he dares to show his face in the empire the Dark Lord would take much delight in ending him.”
She hated this man. She smiled at him, “It’s only right I suppose. I’ll miss him, sometimes I lay awake at night and remember him at home with the horses or laying on a couch in the manor house. I remember how he used to like to guzzle the sweets I would make for him.”
Lucius eyed her with disdain, “You’re such a woman Narcissa. That’s your problem you think with that weak little heart of yours. It is my hope that you will think with your head in the next few days. The Dark Lord is steps away from winning Potter will be drawn here and when he shows up this will all end. The world shall become the Dark ones Empire and we shall rein at its tops! You were always meant to be a queen Narcissa, don’t throw it away for foolish ideals.”
She smiled at him again and placed one hand on his cheek. “I made my choice years ago Lucius. You needn’t worry about anything.”
Lucius snarled clenching her wrist, “I worry about nothing woman, if you betray me again like you did when you let that traitor and that whelp who you dare to name my son escape I will kill you myself! I offer you this one last and final warning.” He shoved her backwards in contempt and left the tent.
She rubbed at her aching wrist, her thoughts not on her husbands threats or the threat of death looming over her head. Her thoughts were on a long ago summer day in the manor gardens. The flowers had smelled heavenly the breeze on her face just as brilliant. Her thoughts and her peace lay with the small boy with the flaxen blonde hair laying in the grass staring dreamily up at the sky.
He rarely smiled when his father was around, his father was always trying to beat the weakness out of him. That sharp walking cane he carried had slammed into his flesh to many times to inspire smiles when he was around. But there in the garden with his mother, his father away on business and nothing but the soft summer air around them. Her little boy had smiled and dreamed.
She smiled to herself, that was heaven and if she had to die she knew it was to a place like that where she would go.
Harry woke to the feel of Draco’s lips darting across his shoulder like the touch of butterfly wings. He smiled and moved closer to him.
“We have to get up, meetings directly after breakfast.” He whispered as he traced a path of kisses across his body.
“How much you want to bet I can make you forget about the meeting.” he taunted playful rubbing against him.
He heard Draco moan a little and then chuckle, “Harry learn some responsibility!” He admonished.
Harry grinned at him and leaned over to flick his tongue across those perfect pink lips that always insisted on scolding him. “I’m going to make you forget Responsibility.”
Harry kept his promise, by the time he was done Draco had forgotten what his name was nevertheless being on time for breakfast.
It was Sly who dragged them out of bed, reminding them of their duty in his normal haughty manner. Draco got dressed and so did Harry and the went to retrieve him.
When they did make it down to the dining hall it was already filling with Order members. Harry spied Ron right away, he was practically glowing this morning. He looked like a cat who had gotten into the crème he was leaning casually in his chair as he finished his breakfast.
Hiaro was as usual sitting beside him but they were both grinning at each other with such besotted grins that Draco snorted and rolled his eyes. “What does he want a prize?”
Harry chuckled, “Leave him alone he’s happy.”
Draco eyed the rest of the people present at Ron’s table and pointed out, “Yeah but Granger sure isn’t. There is going to be trouble there.”
“Well duh, what if you went away and came back to find me in love with someone else.” Harry scoffed.
“I’d murder you and your new lover, and Granger looks ready to do murder. Question is Harry as both their best friends who’s side are you on?” Draco asked quirking one flaxen eyebrow.
“Theirs. Whatever will make them happy, Hiaro makes Ron happy. Even when they were together Ron could never give Hermione the kind of contentment real love comes with. So therefore I want Ron to stay exactly where he is and I’ll try and get my errant friend to realize what she would have realized years down the road when it was much to late for them both.
Just as he finished saying this Seamus and Dean entered the hall. Dean was carrying Danny who was chattering excitedly about something Gabriella had done. Dean had his one free arm around Seamus waist and was grinning with such obvious joy that Harry felt a slight pang in his chest. He looked over at Draco, what would it be like to hold a squirmy warm little body to his chest. A being created from both their bodies and their love. He would have flaxen hair like the sun and smile up at him with Draco’s smile….
He would have to have him first and that is just too creepy to contemplate. He shivered a little, Draco eyed him with amusement. “You’re getting closer you know your bending, you want my children just admit it.”
“That I have no problem admitting, it’s getting them into the world I refuse to even contemplate.” Harry had to repress a shiver of revulsion.
Draco rolled his eyes in exasperation, “you’re fae Harry. It’s natural”
“Not to me. And if you’re so comfortable with it why don’t you have them then.” Harry scoffed. Draco just chuckled.
“Because you’re the submissive one.” He pointed out.
“Submissive? To you? You’re out of your mind.” Harry sneered with no true malice. He knew very well he adored being beneath Draco. Loved everything about him. Well almost everything.
“Well you sure aren’t out of bed that’s for sure, so take heart.” Draco chuckled, Harry punched him on the arm. They had reached the table by then and Ron greeted them with a smile.
“Hey Harry, Seamus and others have a seat. I’d gobble down some food before the bad news comes in.”
Amen to that, Harry was under no delusion that things were about to get any easier, in fact they were sure to get a whole lot worse.
A/N: Oh and I forgot to mention I felt a little bad for Hermione but I have plans for her so take heart.
