A Gift

I know it\'s been a while since I updated. Been busy with real life as 4-H gears up for county fair this week. The short peom near the end of this chapter is wholely mine. I did not copy it off of anything. Just something I thought to toss in there. Hope you enjoy and thanks to all the great reviews so far!

She knows not where he takes her. It looks as though it is the middle of a city, the park area secluded as they step out among the trees. He reins Dn ton towards a large fountain, passing through a crowd of muggles as he runs towards it. She finds herself holding her breath, waiting for the moment the muggles see them and sound an alarm. Not alarm goes up and they pass unnoticed onto a small trail near the fountain. After a few more minutes, the trees open to a small cotage in the middle of the park.
He dismounts, holding his hand out for her to do the same. She slides down and frowns as he nearly drags her towards the cottage. He pulls her swiftly inside and slams the door behind her.
\"What in the name of Merlin was that about?!\" He growls out at her. \"Do you have any idea what they are expecting now?\"
She crosses her arms over her chest, glaring at him in silence. He turns to her and narrows his eyes at her. Feeling her irritation grow, she waves a hand at her throat. He snarls angrily and tosses a small vial at her, truning back around to look out a small window.
She downs the contents and coughs softly to test her voice. Feeling it come back, she nearly yells back at him. \"What do you mean what was that about?! If I hadn\'t kissed you, they would\'ve been all over us and we\'d never had gotten away!\"
\"Do you not realize that now they will be asking for Sabine to come to more of their parties?\" He growls back. \"I do not think you could handle another one. You are a poor actress at best.\"
She stares at him open mouthed. \"I beg your pardon? I believe I just saved our asses out there!\"
He turns to glare back at her. \"One day. You did well. But to do it for more than that? You would never last! You could never do the things Sabine was capable of and you would be caught out! Take it from one who has had to play a part for the last 20 years! You would be found out!\"
She steps over to a chair, his words ringing in her mind as she sits down. She thinks over how well she truly would have pulled it off if they had stayed longer and realizes he is right. \"I\'m sorry.\" She whispers softly.
\"Think no more of it.\" He stares out the window again. \"And please do not try that again.\"
She walks away, studying the mall desks and shelves near her. She picks up a paper, her eyes narrowing in confusion. \"If the night were to end now, would your love hold true? Would your love hold me still, would it be still new?\"
\"And if you should forswear what is given and turn away from me, would I love you still and the the pain shall bear?\" His voice continues softly.
Surprised, she turns back to him. \"You memorized this?\"
He shrugs his shoulders. \"Of course. I memorize all that I have written.\"
She looks down at the sheet in her hands in utter amazement. \"You wrote this? it\'s beautiful.\" She breathes softly.
\"Thank \" H\" He barely glances at her over his shoulder. \"It\'s time we leave.\"
She pushes the veil down her face again. \"Where to now?\"
\"Safety.\" He takes her arm and apparates them away.
