Discomfort Moon

Bluezazua: Thanks for still hanging in there with me on this. I was beginning to wonder if people had gotten bored with the story. At least one of your questions should be answered in this chapter. Hope you enjoy.

Heidi191976: As always, thanks for reading and reviewing. I sincerely appreciate it.

Margaritama: Sorry if the A/N was confusing. I meant non-consent. I hate those things with every fiber of my being because no one seems to understand there are very real and highly dangerous psychological repercussions from those things. I will never write one and I will absolutely not read one if there’s a warning no matter who the author is. As for the smut, honestly, I don’t think I write it very well and there are a myriad of stories like that if it’s what one is looking for. I prefer emotional connection and growth between two characters before tossing them into a bed together. Not that tossing someone into a bed is a bad thing, I just can’t write those very well. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy the bondage scene in a couple of chapters.

Voracious Reader: Those ideas are great! I love the way your mind works. Don’t worry, Severus will be showing up again soon with some 411 on the 911 situation.

Angeles: Glad you enjoyed the explosion or threat of one rather.

Zets: M’dear you know Hermione isn’t going to just forgive him instantly because he apologized. Not happening. Glad you’re still enjoying. Can I poke you for more of “There’s Always Tomorrow”?

tafod-y-sarff: Wow, that was a great review. Thank you. Sorry if the spelling magick annoys you. It’s how the pagan community differentiates the calling of the elements, etc. from the “Hey, Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat,” magic. Since I am part of that community, it’s how I tend to spell it. To answer some of your other questions: I have a degree in criminal psychology with emphasis on criminal profiling, that’s where the knowledge of procedure and process comes in. As to the grammar, spelling, etc, I had a fabulous English teacher in my younger years. You’ll find out more about Lucius’ treatment of the house elves in a few chapters.

To everyone reading: I hope you enjoy.

“Oh, Hermiiioonneeee!” Arabella’s voice called from the doorway of the office before she walked in.

“Yes, Arabella?” she said, turning slightly.

“Come along. We have shopping and then work to do,” she said, grabbing the younger woman by the wrist and all but dragging her to the doorway. “Draco, I presume that Taz told you what she has in mind.”

“Malfoy,” Hermione growled. “The case.”

“Going with Ara and doing what needs to be done to pull this off is working on the case. Go on, I’ll handle tracking down these two,” he said, waving the piece of parchment Tazura had given him. “Then deal with the information we’re giving Potter. Have fun.”

“Oh, we shall,” Arabella said with a laugh. “Or I shall at any rate. I’m not so certain about Hermione.”

“Don’t scare her too badly, Ara. I still need her to help with this case.”

“Speaking of that. Would you be so kind as to tell your father about all of this once you find him? Providing Taz hasn’t already.”

Draco laughed. “You’re just trying to avoid him hitting the roof about it.”

“I don’t think avoiding is so much the thought as keeping the damage total to a minimum. Frankly, you do seem to calm him down faster than anyone else manages.”

“Naturally. Hang on, what do you mean once I find him?”

“Just what it sounds like.”

“Please don’t tell me he went to look for my uncle,” Draco said with a groan.

Arabella shrugged. “Fine. I won’t tell you. Since you’ve already guessed anyway there isn’t any point.”

“For such an intelligent man, my father is an idiot some days.”

Arabella laughed and pulled Hermione out of the office and into the corridor.

“Arabella, where are we going?” Hermione asked, allowing the other woman to drag her along after her.

“To the Wicked Witch,” Arabella said over her shoulder. “Just don’t argue and I’ll explain the plan along the way.”

Lucius sat at his desk rubbing his temples to ease the ache that had settled there. He wasn’t certain what he’d hoped for more when going to Narcissa’s: The chance to confront his brother or to completely avoid finding him. As it was, the latter had happened. He had searched the entire house and grounds from top to bottom not finding even a trace of his brother. He should probably be grateful his former wife had even let him inside, all things considered. However, Narcissa had informed him in no uncertain terms that he was never to darken her door again with such nonsense.

Then there was Tazura’s Flooing him to inform him of the plan she and Arabella had come up with to lure Liren out a bit. He didn’t like it. Not in the slightest. He didn’t like the fact that they were planning on getting Hermione involved as well. They also intended to get him, Draco and possibly Luna in on it.

He had only mildly worried when Taz had mentioned Ara was going to take Hermione to the Wicked Witch on a shopping and educational excursion. Gods only knew what Ara would have her doing there but he was fairly certain it would be something guaranteed to give the younger woman heart failure. However, if he knew Arabella and he did, he wouldn’t mind terribly being on the receiving end of the “lessons”. Now that was the best thought he’d had go through his mind all day. Two beautiful women whipping him, within reason and via his stipulations, at any rate.

“Father?” came Draco’s voice from the fireplace.

“Yes. I’m here. What is it?” he said, getting up and walking over to where he could see his son clearly.

“I thought I’d warn you about a few things.”

“Such as?”

“For one, Potter is taking over the Morris case as well as this new one.”

Lucius nodded. “Hardly a surprise. It was only a matter of time, Draco. You must know that.”

“Yes. That doesn’t make it any easier to swallow though.”

“I can only imagine. What else did you need to tell me?”

“You might want to head over to the Wicked Witch. Ara just dragged Granger out of the office and I’m pretty sure that’s where they’re headed.”

“I’ll be on my way shortly,” Lucius said, gathering his wallet and cane. “Was there anything else?”

“No. Since Taz has obviously told you about her plan.”

“She has,” Lucius growled.

“I take it you aren’t happy about it.”

“Not in the slightest.”

***

“I take it that dear Lucius has departed from the modest domicile.”

“Finally.”

“Come now, my angel. You really didn’t suppose he’d fail to come searching for me there. It only stands to reason, all things considered. After all, for sixteen years you and I were very much inseparable.”

She smiled. “We still are inseparable.”

“That is indeed true.”

“What do you think his next move will be?”

“If I know Lucius, his next idea will be to look for me at the family properties. He’ll know that dragging a body halfway across the continent would probably alert some sort of authority figure. Even if via apparition. Therefore, he’ll probably keep his search fairly local. I doubt he’d search outside of the U.K. and Ireland for me but there are times when even Lucius is unpredictable.”
