Chapter Twenty-Two

Aiden was naked on the floor as the water from the shower beat down on him. His knees to his chest with his bruised arms wrapped around them as he rocked back and forth. He was trying to keep his emotions in check, but was failing miserably.

Aiden did not understand, why he felt this way, and started thinking about the last couple of days. The conversation with Chris made him angry. Then Griphook had told him the truth that he did change around Wyatt. However, that was not a bad thing. Coming back after getting that sword to find both Wyatt and Chris fighting. Talking to Severus and going to the dungeons. In addition, today he went to see Wyatt and that was a disaster. However, was beginning to think Salazar’s sword was causing the extra coldness in him. His emotions were completely gone when he wore that sword. Moreover, when he came to his rooms today after seeing Wyatt, he had put it away to take a shower. He began to think back to his conversation with Salazar about the sword.

Harry was standing beside Salazar Slytherin as he explained about the legendary sword of Slytherin. While the sword in question was hanging on the wall of Salazar’s study.

“Harry, this sword should only to be used when absolutely necessary. You are not dark and as such, if you take up this sword it could harm you.”

Harry looked at Salazar with confusion. He knew he was not a dark wizard. “I know I’m not dark Sal. But why would that sword hurt me?”

“Because my heir this sword, has a mind of its own at times. At least it has with me. It caused many problems for me in my day. I was full of life Harry not light but not dark either just like you. However, when I took up the sword I felt different. Like I could do anything and the other founders could see the change in me. When they confronted me, I ignored them and continued to carry my sword. Slowly I became darker, colder more calculated. In addition, it cost me my life as well as my wife, children and friends. I don’t want that to happen to you.”

“I’m sorry Sal. I promise I will not touch the sword if I find it. Not until I’m ready to kill Voldemort.” Harry stated sincerely.

“Thank you Harry for your promise.” Salazar smirks with warmth before grabbing an arm around his heir.

“Mother of Magic, what have I done?” Whispered Aiden at the memory. Before tears started falling down his face. Only to be washed away by the water of the shower.

Zion was pissed no he was livid. He had just come from talking with Chris and the half elf. Moreover, had learned that some of the Avalon Court that was in the war room that day was the one’s to run their mouths. What shocked him was that it was one of own kind that started it. Now was determined to find Kai and give him a piece of his mind. He could not believe that whelp would start something like this just because Wyatt had dismissed his advances.

He knew where the whelp spent most of his time. So storming down the stairs into the dungeons, as he reach the bottom he saw red. There was Kai standing at the end of the hall by the cell that held the wolf and its mate. He did not even hear Gabriel or some of the other guards call his name.

Kai’s eyes widened as he saw Zion advance on him. He was not sure what he had done wrong, but knew he was about to find out. When Zion was almost upon him, Kai put his hands out in surrender and stated. “I don’t what you think I’ve done my Lord. But I assure you it isn’t so.”

“Whelp, are you telling me that the Prince of Avalon would dare lie to me. And you as well as some others didn’t start the rumors of the King Consort being weak and not able to stand with his King.” Zion snarled his normal azure eyes flashing purple in anger.

Oh Shit! Kai thought as he glanced at the guards that were behind Zion. When he noticed their anger spike as well, he knew they had no idea who had started the rumors. “And if I did. If the Consort can’t take it then he should back down and let the King be with someone better.” Kai stated with defiance, he knew he was in trouble but was not about to back down. He felt that King Wyatt would be better off with someone else, him.

“That someone would be you, whelp?” Snarled Zion as he narrowed his eyes onto his nephew.

“Yes Uncle me. The Consort is not good enough for our King. And now the wedding will not take place.” Kai snapped coldly, he did not care about being heard by the prisoners or the others.

“The Mother of Magic, herself chooses the King as well as his Queen or Consort. This wedding will take place, nephew. Even if I must drag the two before the alter myself. You will back down Kai or so help me, I will strip you of your right as heir.” Zion stated coldly as his eyes went completely purple. His magic swirled around him like a powerful helix.

“You wouldn’t!” snarled Kai not believing his uncle in the slightest.

“I would, do not test me again Kai.” Zion hissed before grabbing his nephew’s throat sinking the tips of his claws into the young one. Just to prove that he would do what was necessary for his people, Avalon and his King.

Kai could not believe it, his uncle was not kidding. He would kill him if he did not back down. When his skin was punctured, he turned his neck in submission. He did not want to lose his place over some mortal.

“Remember!” Zion snapped as he removed his claws and turned to walk out the way he came. Suddenly a scent caught his attention and he stopped by one of the cells. Just what I need, my mate is a prisoner of war. He thought as he began making his way out of the dungeons and toward the King Consorts chambers.

“I can not believe this. How could you be so stupid Kai?” Gabriel snapped at the young one.

Kai just shrugged as he wiped the blood from his neck. Before pushing past Gabriel and the others to leave. He did not care what his uncle said, King Wyatt was better off without the foolish wizard.

“He will get himself killed Gabriel if he doesn’t head the warning.” Thomas stated as he followed Gabriel back to the dungeon office.

“No Lord Zion will not kill him. There are worse things than death and I fear that young Kai has forgotten that.” Gabriel stated to his Lycan friend with a snap of his fangs.

Back in Aiden’s Chambers

Aiden was standing in a pair of dragon hide pants as he looked at the sword of Salazar Slytherin in contempt. He was trying to figure out what to do with it not caring how cold the room was, or that his skin was covered in chill bumps.

Knocked out of his muses at the sound of his main chamber door opened with a bang. Knowing that no one was allowed to enter with out permission. He conjured a shirt and went out of the bedroom.

Zion was standing inside the cold sitting room of the Consort waiting for him to come into the room. He did not care the door was broken at its hinges. Looking up when he felt Lord Kage walk into the room. He could tell the young one had been crying.

“What can I do for you Lord Zion?” Aiden asked somewhat coldly even though he was confused at the Vampires intrusion.

Zion said nothing, he moved swiftly at Aiden grabbing him. He did not stop at the gasp that exited the mortal’s throat. Sinking his fangs into Aiden’s neck to taste the blood. Hoping to find the problem and he did, the blood was darker and a bit bitter but there was something else.

Aiden could not believe the audacity of the Vampire. He just grabbed him and then bit him. He was starting to get weak from the blood lose and pulled to get away. He could feel his magic change and it was beginning to scare him. “Let go.” Aiden responded weakly.

Zion felt the young one’s pull and request, but was not letting go just yet. He wanted to get the bitterness out of the Kings Consort. Moreover, when all he tasted was sweetness he releases him. However, had to grab him again as the young lord began to fall toward the ground. Lifting the Consort bridle style he carried him to his bed to lay him down.

Aiden was scared now, he was weak and in the arms of a Vampire Lord of all people. He did not know what to think as he was carried and placed onto his bed.

“I will not harm you Consort. What has caused your change is now out of your blood and magic. Unfortunately, I was unable to take all the darkness. What have you done little one?” Zion spoke softly as his azure eyes showed his worry.

“Avalon wanted a cold Consort and one that didn’t show weakness. I gave them one.” Aiden responded weakly as he watched the Vampire.

“No Avalon does not little one. I could kill my nephew for starting that rumor. However, I will not apologize for him. A Queen or Consort to a King is to close off their emotions in public. But never in private with their King or family.” Zion spoke with bite as he pulled a chair over to sit beside the Consorts bed.

Aiden was still confused, he has given them what they wanted did he not.
“Then why did Chris tell me otherwise?”

“I do not know what the Prince said to you. However, I know that something other than the rumors caused this change in you. Moreover, for my people and King I want to find out what. In addition, you shall tell me. I want this resolved before the wedding.” Zion remarked in demand.

Aiden’s magic spike at the demand. He did not feel it was the Vampire Lords place to ask the problem. His eyes widened when the Vampire spiked his magic in return and knew he was not getting out of this without answering. “My ancestor’s sword.” Aiden answered as he pointed toward the wall.

Zion raised an eyebrow before following where the Consort was pointing. Rising from his seat, he went toward the sword. He could feel the darkness in it as he was standing in front. “Why would you touch something so foul?”
Zion questioned as he turned around, yes, he was dark but even he would not touch that sword.

“I figured it would help me show that I was not weak. I made a mistake I know that. I was trying to figure out what to do with it when you barged into my chamber.” Hissed Aiden, he was tired now and did not want to deal with this.

“I will return momentarily, you and the King need to resolve your issues. And I will make sure that it is done this night.” Zion stated with coldness as he sent a binding spell at Aiden, before vanishing.

“Damn you!” snarled Aiden as he tried to get out of bed. Only to find he was stuck there and realized he was too weak from blood loose to get his magic to help him with the spell the Vampire had used.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wyatt had just returned to his chambers when Zion appeared before him. “Zion, what?” Was all Wyatt had gotten out before he was grabbed around the waist?

“You are going to your Consort and fixing the problem.” Zion stated coldly, he was still angry at everything that he had been told.

“No Zion, I just want to sleep. I’ll deal with him tomorrow before the wedding.” Wyatt snapped as he began struggling in the hold.

“Wrong answer my King.” Snarled Zion as he vanished with Wyatt in his arms.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Damn you Zion!” roared Wyatt as he landed on his ass in the middle of Aiden’s bedroom chambers. Aiden laughed as he watched Wyatt fall in the floor. While Zion just smirked at them both.

“Now you two talk this out. While I figure out how to get rid of this sword without touching it.” Smirked Zion as he walked over to the problem.

“Sword? What sword Zion, Excalibur is resting in my chambers.” Wyatt stated as he looked at Zion as if the Vampire had lost his mind.

“This sword my King, is one of the problems.” Zion stated with amusement as he pointed at the Slytherin sword.

Wyatt raised an eyebrow at Aiden. When he did not get an answer, he walked to stand beside his ally. He began to shiver at the darkness of the sword; his magic was on full alert and crawling over his skin in protection.

Aiden waited to see what would happen next. He could see Wyatt’s magic begin to swirl around him in defense. He did not think that Salazar’s sword would cause Wyatt’s defensive magic to surface.

*The sword of Destruction. I do not understand it was meant to have been destroyed.* Magic whispered to Wyatt with concern.

“Where did you get this Aiden? The sword of Destruction was said to have been destroyed.” Wyatt demanded as he turned to his consort.

Aiden’s eyes widened as he gasped. “It was in a hidden chamber in my castle Wyatt. It was part of my inheritance.” Aiden stated in shock, he did not like the way Wyatt was acting about that sword. Nor did he like the name of it.

“Did you know what this sword does? Did you not know that this sword was used to destroy everything it touches? Well did you?” Wyatt snapped in anger, he was worried for his consort knowing Aiden had been in contact with it.

Aiden did not speak; he just shook his head no. He did not know, Salazar never mentioned anything like that. Just that it caused him problems and he lost his life. That thought caused Aiden to gasp loudly, before turning to Wyatt and Zion with wide eyes.

“What little one? What do you remember about your inheritance?” Zion asked softly, he knew that wizards met their ancestors during their coming of age.

“Salazar had told me that the sword cost him everything that was dear to him. That was one reason why I was trying to find a way to be rid of it. I had no idea why it was so legendary.” Aiden spoke before closing his eyes not wanting to see the anger on Wyatt’s face any longer.

“Zion seal that sword’s power and after my wedding, we’ll find a way to permanently remove it from this world.” Wyatt’s cold voice announced, as he remained staring at his consort.

Zion said nothing, he just began chanting in a language neither Wyatt or Aiden could understand. Zion was not surprised that the sword fought him. He was breathing hard as sweat appeared on his brow by the time he was done. That took a lot of magic for him, considering Vampires have no need to breathe.
“It is done. Do you want me to take it with me, my King?”

“Yes Zion, leave us.” Wyatt stated still not looking at the Vampire Lord.

Zion bowed slightly even though he knew Wyatt did not see him. Before vanishing with the sword in his possession. He felt pity for the consort now that Wyatt was aware of the swords nature by Magic.

“Aiden look at me!” Wyatt barked as he moved closer to Aiden’s bedside.

Aiden snapped his eyes open and shivered at the look of fury from Wyatt. The same look he displayed earlier in his study. “Wyatt?”

“You will remain silent while I speak.” Wyatt commanded, as his magic was trying to calm him.

AN: That’s the end of this chapter. I’ll try to update tomorrow if I don’t get called away again.
