Trussed
The Problem
Draco watched Hermione fall to pieces as if in slow motion, her expression getting more and more hopeless as years went by.
“How is that possible?” She choked out a sob, and tears flooded her large eyes as she stared at him, willing him to take it back. What had happened? Where had she been? If Draco and Snape hadn't heard from Harry in months… what had happened to her friends? The Order? Was the resistance wiped out? “Oh Merlin…”
Draco looked away as she sobbed, unable to deal with the sight of the distraught witch. He didn't want to be responsible for her. Damn whoever had sent her. He shouldn't have opened the fucking box.
Her sobs finally slowed to sniffles and she took a deep shaky breath. “Are you going to untie me?” She asked quietly.
“I'm not sure I should.” He replied, and he scoffed at the anger in her eyes. “Don't look at me like that. You don't know who sent you here. What if someone is testing my allegiance to the Dark Lord?”
“So you're just going to hand me over to him?” She cried. “Harry was trying to get you out, you know! Now would be the time!”
“Without a plan?!” He roared, eyes ablaze. “What about my mother?!”
Her gaze faltered. “I don't know.” Her shoulders slumped. “I don't know.” She said again.
Draco rubbed at his eyes in frustration. “I don't know either.” He admitted. He felt like a sitting duck.
“I wish I could remember what happened to me.” Hermione’s voice was small.
“I'll get Snape.”
“What?” Her head snapped up.
“My Godfather is a legilimens.” And he would have a better idea of what the fuck to do about this situation.
“Maybe he can undo whatever obliviation has been done.” She thought out loud, though she wasn't sure she wanted her surly old Potions professor poking around in her head.
Draco stood, his head poking out of the box hole. “I'll return shortly.”
“You're leaving me in here?” Hermione snapped, though she knew logically it was safer that way.
He hoisted himself out of the box, and didn't bother replying before shutting the lid, leaving her in darkness.
“Tosser.” She muttered.
