Chapter 2

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor do I make money from writing or posting this story.

Author Note: Please note that most of the conversation Harry and Remus have is skipped and not talked about, this is because it is almost exactly the same as the one Hagrid has with him in the book, and I didn't really want to waste six pages on something most know by heart.

Chapter 2 – Shopping

“It's good to be awoke, so you mind telling me how I became Harry James Potter...Lupin?” questioned Harry.

Remus blinked a few times before taking a deep breath. It was time to tell Harry everything, how he felt, what had happened, what he was, how his parents had died, everything.

There would be no secrets between them...

/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

Harry sat on the edge of his bed starring out, yet at the same time seeing nothing. As he sat his mind wandered through everything he had just learned. When he had sat down with Remus he had expected to just learn a few things, but the conversation had taken almost all day. Remus had talked to him about topics ranging from, the fact he wasn't human, to what had really happened to his parents, to what he was to the wizarding world.

He hadn't been scared when he was told that Remus was a werewolf, he had been amazed that such a thing was possible. He had even asked Remus if he could transform and show him, only to be surprised when Remus swore he would never transform in front of him. He had then been told by Remus everything there was to know about werewolves. They were faster and stronger than normal humans, they transformed only on the full moon, their bites would cause others to change once bitten, they were caused pain if exposed to silver.

Remus had than went on to explain that all werewolves had one true mate. That when they found this mate they bonded with them until death. A werewolf with his mate was almost twice as strong as one without. Remus told him that they were mates, not only that but Harry's soul recognized him as his soul mate. Because of this they had been instantly bonded with one another, they were married in every sense of the word.

To Remus's surprise he had been happy, Harry had decided that if he was with anyone Remus was perfect for him. He knew that Remus loved him, and he loved Remus in return. He had though been forced to tell Remus again and again that he didn't mind. He also knew deep down that this was going to be hard for Remus, and that he would likely need to tell him again and again.

He had than been told about how his parents had been killed, how the entire wizarding world saw him as a hero. Harry hadn't been impressed, but he knew that he would be forced to live with it. But he promised himself that he would stay himself, not change for what the wizarding world wanted him to be.

Which indecently was why Harry was currently sitting on his bed thinking, Remus had told him they were going to Diagon Alley to shop. He couldn't help but wonder what the wizards would think when they saw him, he knew he didn't look like he was eleven with the way he dressed. Sighing he got up and wandered over to the dresser, grabbing some clothing he started to get dressed.

A light baby blue shirt, light brown leather belt, baggy black pants to cover his thick disposable diaper, and black street shoes. This was his outfit of choice from the small selection of clothing Remus had bought for him well he was in his coma. Dressed and ready to go Harry headed downstairs and into the kitchen.

Suddenly Harry's eyes widened as a strange feeling, unlike anything he had ever felt before washed over him. It felt like...forests, grass and trees, the wild...it was an untamed feeling. It took him only seconds to locate where it was coming from, the feeling was coming from Remus. Harry wondered what on earth it was that he was feeling, the only thing that came to mind was that he must be sensing Remus's werewolf.

“Remus, how close is the full moon?” questioned Harry

“In a few days, but you don't need to worry about ti Harry, I promise I'd never hurt you,” answered Remus his voice filled with reassurance.

Harry nodded and smiled, “I know that, I was just trying to confirm if it was your wolf I was sensing,” said Harry.

“Sensing,” muttered Remus before his eyes went wide, “You can sense my wolf?”

Harry nodded and shut his eyes to lock in on what he was feeling. It was an odd feeling when the world around him suddenly appeared behind his closed eyes. He could sense and 'see' Remus clear as day standing in front of him, yet now he could see something different. A bright amber aura surrounded Remus and it was growing stronger and stronger.

When he looked closely at the aura he could feel the wolf. He was excited to be released, happy he would soon be released in the same house as his mate. Yet he was also scared he would accidentally harm his mate. Harry focused harder and to his awe watched as the aura took the form of a large misshapen man-wolf-thing.

Harry found himself blinking in confusion, was this what Remus's werewolf looked like. It wasn't anything like what he had always imagined, or what he had seen the few times he heard about them on TV. Harry wondered if the transformation was painful, because Remus had refused to talk to him about it. Reaching out Harry felt himself 'wrap' around Remus's aura and suddenly a wave of emotions and thoughts hit him.

Sadness of being contained and not accepted, pain and unhappiness from the pain he was causing part of himself. Longing for his mate, fear of harming others. Once again all the emotions ran through him and Harry suddenly couldn't take it anymore. His magic lashed out and he was flung backwards, his eyes snapping open as Remus let out a painful scream/howl of pain.

After a few seconds Remus and Harry both recovered. Rushing forwards they pulled each other into hugs and Harry breathed in Remus's warmth. Both of them stayed like that for a few minutes before they separated and Harry started apologizing and mumbling that he hadn't meant to do anything to hurt him.

“It's okay Harry, I'm fine, in fact I feel better than I have in a while,” said Remus looking a little confused before hiding it.

“You...you sure?” questioned Harry sniffling slightly.

“Yep, now why don't we head out to Diagon Ally for that shopping,” said Remus with a smile.

Harry nodded and Remus grabbed his coat and bag before heading out of the house. This was Harry's first time out of the house and he took a long look around. They were in the middle of what appeared to be a forest, Harry could feel creatures all around him and sense their presences. He wondered if this was a part of the Beast Master thing he had read on the parchment.

After a few seconds Remus put his hand on Harry's shoulder and said, “Take a deep breath.”

Harry had no time to say anything or even do so, before they vanished with a loud crack.

/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

Harry's breath left his body as he felt himself being squeezed, he felt like something was pulling him through a tube half his size. His eyes blinked in horror and shock as he saw faint colors and textures flying past him, everything appeared to be a blur of random mixed colors. Harry wondered how much longer this could possibly last, he felt like he was going to pass out.

As suddenly as it had started the feeling stopped like they had hit a brick wall or something. Harry immediately collapsed to his knees, and gasped a few times breathing heavily. It took a few seconds for all his senses and feelings to come back to him, but when they did he immediately noticed a few things. First, the world had cleared and he could see properly again.

Second, the squeezing feeling had finally stopped and he felt normal and no longer trapped in some tube. Third, Remus's hand was on his shoulder and he was softly saying his name and asking if he was okay. Finally his diaper was flushed against his skin and damp with urine he couldn't remember feeling spread around his crotch.

Letting Remus help he was slowly able to get back on his feet, as he did so he let his gaze wander around him. It took him a few seconds to figure out where they were, they appeared to be standing in an alley behind two buildings. Just a few feet away people were walking up and down the sidewalk, but none of them glanced down the alley, almost as if they couldn't see it.

“You okay cub?” questioned Remus

“Yah,” answered Harry quietly with a nod before he asked, “Where are we?”

“London, it's the best place to go for Wizard Shopping, if you know where to go that is,” answered Remus with a grin.

Harry had never been to London before, but he couldn't help but wonder where they would go. It's not like someone could possibly hide something like a wizard shopping center, maybe everyone knew and the Dursley's just hadn't bothered mentioning it.

As far as he knew though, London was just filled with the basics. Book shops, music stores, restaurants and of course cinemas. Nowhere that would sell you a magic wand, it was just ordinary. Could there really be piles of wizard gold buried miles beneath them? Were there really shops that sold spells books and broomsticks?

Harry shook his head and figured there must be, he knew that Remus would never lie to him and so it must be true. Remus held out his hand and Harry quickly reached out and took it, he blushed a little at the contact but felt a warmth spread around inside him. Holding Remus's hand just felt right, and he didn't even feel awkward as they walked out of the alleyway and onto the busy sidewalk.

A few people glanced at them as soon as they exited the alley, but they quickly continued walking. Many of them smiled at them though, and Harry even heard someone mutter about how cute he looked. Harry felt his checks heat up even more, but knew he must look like a little kid, wearing what he was and holding Remus's hand.

“Come on cub, lets go,” said Remus gently tugging his arm.

Harry nodded and quickly fell into step beside Remus as they walked down the sidewalk. They had only taken a few steps when they suddenly stopped, Remus pointed at the building they had stopped in front of.

“This is it, the Leaky Cauldron, it's a pretty famous place,” said Remus.

The Leaky Cauldron was a tiny, grubby-looking olden pub. If Remus hadn't pointed it out, Harry wouldn't have even noticed it was there. The people hurrying by didn't even glance at it. Their eyes slid from the big book shop on one side, to the record shop on the other. It was almost as if they couldn't even see the building, in fact, Harry had a feeling that only he and Remus could see it.

“Why is no one looking at it?” questioned Harry quietly.

“It has special wards on it, it makes it invisible to muggles,” answered Remus before he steered Harry inside.

For a famous place, it was very dark and shabby. A few old women were sitting in a corner, drinking tiny glasses of sherry. One of them was smoking a long pipe. At the bar counter a little man in a top hat was talking to the old bartender, who was had balding brown hair and the look of someone who observed everything happening in the building around him.

The low buzz of chatter stopped when they walked in, everyone's gaze turned towards them. Everyone seemed to know Remus, a few of them sneered and looked away, but quite a few also waved and smiled at him. The bartender reached for a glass, questioning, “The usual, Remus?

“No thanks Tom,” said Remus putting his hand on Harry's shoulder and starting to lead him towards a door at the back.

“Good Lord,” said Tom his eyes widening as he caught sight of Harry, “Is this...can this be...?

The Leaky Cauldron had gone completely and utterly silent, nobody moved or made a sound. Harry swore mentally and knew that Tom had spotted his scar, which meant that in a second he would likely be mobbed or something. Even hearing Remus explain it, wasn't helping him as he caught sight of the awe and wonder in Tom's eyes.

“Bless my soul,” whispered Tom, “Harry Potter...what an honor.”

Before Harry knew what was happening Tom had moved out from behind his counter, and appeared in front of him. Tom grabbed his hand and began to shake it vigorously.

“Welcome back Mr. Potter, welcome back.”

Harry didn't know what to say or do, as his eyes gazed cautiously around the room in a single perfect glance. Everyone was staring at him, the old woman was puffing on her pipe, not realizing it had gone out. The man with the top hat had dropped it to the floor, someone's glass had shattered. Harry didn't know what was going to happen next, but knew it couldn't be good.

Suddenly there was a great scrapping of chairs and the next moment, Harry found himself surrounded by every single person who was in the building. At once they all reached forward to shake his hand and Harry found himself beginning to panic. He was surrounded, all his exits were blocked, this was not something he liked.

No one could react as they suddenly found themselves flung backwards from Harry, only Remus remained in his position beside him. A shimmering shield of pure magic had formed around Harry and he was breathing heavily, his eyes darting in every direction. Remus quickly dropped down to his knees and forced Harry to look into his eyes.

“Harry...Harry...Harry...cub,” Harry's eyes suddenly locked onto his and Remus breathed a sigh of relief before he continued, “You're safe here, no one is going to hurt you.”

“I'm sorry Remus, there was just too many of them, than they all surrounded me, and I just reacted I don't know what happened,” whispered Harry quietly.

“It's okay cub, let's just get going,” said Remus quickly standing.

Within seconds they passed all the people in the bar, who were stilling picking themselves off the ground from where they had been flung. Remus pushed open the backdoor and they found themselves in a small, walled courtyard, where there was nothing but trash cans and a few weeds.

Harry's head was swimming with what had just happened, he hadn't been ready for that at all. But even then he didn't understand what had happened, he had felt surrounded and than suddenly his magic had liked reacted. Like it had acted on it's own to fulfill his subconscious request of everyone moving away from him.

“Is it always going to be like that?” questioned Harry quietly

“Most likely I'm afraid,” answered Remus with a small frown before patting him on the head and ruffling his hair, “But you'll be fine cub.”

With that Remus stepped towards the brick wall opposite the door to the bar. It took Harry a moment to figure out that Remus appeared to be counting the bricks. Before he could ask why Remus raised his hand, wand in it, and tapped the wall three times with it.

"Stand back Harry,” said Remus as he took a step back.

Harry wondered why he needed to do so, but instantly complied, stepping back so he was behind Remus. The brick he had touched quivered...it wriggled...in the middle, a small hole appeared...it grew wider and wider...a second later they were facing an archway larger than any Harry had ever seen, an archway that connected onto a cobbled street that twisted and turned out of sight.

"Welcome," said Remus, "to Diagon Alley."

He grinned at Harry's amazement. They stepped through the archway. Harry looked quickly over his shoulder and saw the archway shrink instantly back into solid wall. The sun shone brightly on a stack of cauldrons outside the nearest shop. Cauldrons...All Sizes...Copper, Brass, Pewter, Silver...Self Stirring...Collapsible, said a sign hanging over them.

Remus saw where he was looking and smiled at him as he said, “You'll need one of those, but first we need to go to Gringotts and get you some money.”

Harry nodded, Remus had explained Gringotts to him last night when they were having their talk. Harry had asked lots of questions about it, the Goblins that ran it, and everything else he could think of about anything. Remus had answered the best he could, but promised he would buy Harry books on any subject he wanted so he could learn anything that interested him. Harry wondered how Remus would feel when he told him that everything interested him.

The Dursley's had always stopped him from reading, when they found out he liked it they had even destroyed his school books. Harry knew that Remus wouldn't do that though, so he would be able to read and learn everything he wanted without fear. Harry blinked as he felt Remus pull his hand slightly, he quickly realized he had just been standing and staring into space for who knows how long.

Blushing he quickly stepped forward and followed Remus down the alley. Harry wished he had about eight more eyes. He turned his head in every direction as they walked up the street, trying to look at everything at once: the shops, the things outside them, the people doing their shopping. A plump woman outside an Apothecary was shaking her head as they passed, saying, "Dragon liver, seventeen Sickles an ounce, they're mad...."

A low, soft hooting came from a dark shop with a sign saying Eeylops Owl Emporium...Tawny, Screech, Barn, Brown, and Snowy. Several boys of about Harry's age had their noses pressed against a window with broomsticks in it. "Look," Harry heard one of them say, "the new Nimbus Two Thousand...fastest ever..."

There were shops selling robes, shops selling telescopes and strange silver instruments Harry had never seen before, windows stacked with barrels of bat spleens and eels' eyes, tottering piles of spell books, quills, and rolls of parchment, potion bottles, globes of the moon....

"Gringotts," said Remus.

They had reached a snowy white building that towered over the other little shops. Standing beside its burnished bronze doors, wearing a uniform of scarlet and gold, was what Harry instantly knew was a Goblin. As they walked up the white stone steps, Harry took the time to examine the goblin. Remus's description had been spot on.

The goblin was about a head shorter than Harry. He had a swarthy, clever face, a pointed beard and, Harry noticed, very long fingers and feet. He bowed with a scowl on his face as they walked inside. Now they were facing a second pair of doors, silver this time, with words engraved upon them:

Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn.
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.

"Yah, you'd have to be mad to try and rob a Goblin,” said Remus as he noticed what Harry had been reading.

Harry nodded and followed Remus as they passed through large silver doors, and into a hall of marble. About a hundred more goblins were sitting on high stools behind a long counter, scribbling in large ledgers, weighing coins in brass scales, examining precious stones through eyeglasses. There were too many doors to count leading off the hall, and yet more goblins were showing people in and out of these.

Remus and Harry headed past all these counters and towards a lone desk near the back of the hall. Once there they stopped in front of it, sitting behind it was a short stubby Goblin with wicked looking teeth and claws. He looked up at them and scowled.

“What do you require?” the goblin questioned rudely.

“Mr. Potter-Lupin needs a new set of keys for his vaults, and Dumbledore's Magical Guardianship needs to be canceled,” answered Remus.

The Goblin's eyes went wide and his gaze immediately locked onto Harry, who simply stood still and tried not to do anything that would offend the Goblin. After a few seconds the Goblin looked away, stood from his seat and motioned for them to follow. Remus held out his hand and Harry took it and quickly fell into step behind the Goblin as they followed him.

They were led through a large golden door and down a massive decorative hallway, lined with Goblin soldiers. They continued through quite a few corridors, doorways, and past many different rooms, goblin's and other things that Harry didn't recognize. Finally they arrived in front of a massive set of silver doors with golden designs carved into it.

The Goblin leading them turned to face them and said, “I am unable to enter this room, and neither are you Mr. Lupin, Mr. Potter-Lupin must enter alone.”

“What is this room?” questioned Remus

“This is the Inheritance Focusing Chamber, it will...download...I suppose is the best word, all the knowledge about his families into Mr. Potter-Lupin's mind, it will also reverse and enhance certain things,” explained the Goblin.

“Are you sure Remus can't come in with me?” questioned Harry

“Yes,” answered the Goblin shortly.

Harry nodded and smiled at Remus before stepping towards the doors, which immediately swung open in front of him. Harry walked inside the room, which look like just a large stone chamber. As he stepped towards the center the massive doors swung shut behind him. Blinking Harry breathed deeply and looked around the room, he couldn't see anything except pure stone.

With a frown Harry walked towards the center of the room, as he stepped into the center something began to happen. A glowing gold circle appeared around Harry, and before he could do anything he suddenly felt pain fill him. His world started to darken and Harry collapsed to his knees and clutched his head as he threw it back and screamed in pain.

Knowledge about finances, houses, family members that were dead, started to fill Harry's head. Only it wasn't just information about the Potter family that was coming, four families that Harry had never heard about were also being downloaded. Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, those were the names of the families that were also added to his mind.

Information about how to change his magical guardian, or become his own guardian because of his position as head of an ancient family. Knowledge about potions, spells, curses, Hogwarts passageways, languages. These things and much more began to fill his mind, it quickly made Harry realize that he was getting more information than he had been supposed to.

Suddenly Harry couldn't stand the information anymore and to cope his body shut down. The darkness claimed him as Harry dropped to the ground unconscious...

You are our Heir, in you is the power to change the world. To rewrite the teachings of the present, and make a better future. Hogwarts will obey you, and all it's creatures are yours to command.

My son, if you are hearing this than your mother and I have died. You no doubt live with Sirius, who is your Godfather. If not than our worst fears have come true, everyone believed our ploy and believe Sirius to be at fault for our deaths.

Live long and true my son...

Harry's eyes snapped open and he gasped, breathing in deeply to fill his lungs with air. Breathing in and out Harry realized that he was still on the floor, blinking he pushed himself to his feet. He immediately noticed something was different as hair fell down in front of his face. How in the world has his hair gotten so long?

The next thing he noticed was he could sense multiple things he hadn't been able to before. Two people were just past the door, one of them was a werewolf, which was obviously Remus, and the other a goblin. Harry could also see glowing lines all over the floors and walls of the room, but every few seconds they would vanish and he could only see stone.

He could also feel something different about his mind, like it was calmer and more organized. He could also sense some type of wall around his mind, his new knowledge came forward and he realized what it was. This shield was the first level of Occlumency, the art of shielding his mind from people reading it. It took him only another second to realize it was the chamber that had done it, the chamber had awakened his mental abilities.

He would be able to learn Legilimency, Occlumency and Mind Control with time and patience. These were abilities passed to him from Rowena Ravenclaw, who had something to do with Hogwarts. He didn't know exactly what her and the other three had to do with the school, there was still too much information in his mind. Though it was organized, it still needed to be sorted through so he could figure out what everything he now knew.

One thing he was sure of, was that he still had a lot to learn and practice. Hopefully Remus could help him find some good books and information. Figuring it was time to leave Harry turned and stepped towards the door. Only to instantly stop as a loud wet squish echoed and his soaked diaper pushed against his crotch, he was soaked and needed a change. He had obviously wet well he was unconscious.

Frowning he wondered if Remus had brought any extra diapers with him, because he had completely forgotten. Stepping forward he swore violently as he felt the diaper squish again and a small amount of urine begin leaking down his leg. Looking down Harry made sure his pants were dry before continuing forward. He made it through the door, which opened as he walked towards it, and outside without leaking anymore.

“Harry!” exclaimed Remus eyes wide.

“Incredible, how did so much change from a single family inheritance?” questioned the goblin shocked.

“It wasn't, there were four other families, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin, whoever they are,” answered Harry with a shrug.

Harry turned to ask Remus if he had any extra diapers, only to find himself being stared at by both of them in shock. Mentally Harry swore, if those looks were anything to go by those names were big things. Harry saw Remus open his mouth and braced himself for bad news, it's not like it could be any worse than being some Mythical Boy-Who-Lived Savior.

“Harry, I don't know quite how to say this, but those are the four Founders, their Heirs are supposed to be lost through time, except for Voldemort who claims to be the heir of Slytherin,” explained Remus.

Harry sighed and slapped his forehead, this was just what he needed...
