Chapter Three
Well, here's the end of the short story. I've gotten some comments that this length is just too short. Honestly, I was only setting out to write something short that could be enjoyed right away. Thanks for your continued support and reviews. They do this writer good.

Chapter Three
“Hmm, I shouldn’t have had so much to drink,” she muttered into his neck. “Do you have any sober up potion?”
“Why did you drink as much as you did? It’s not like you,” he pointed out to her, fisting his hand so he wouldn’t end up rubbing her hip as he inquired.
“Tonight will make the 6th time that Ginny has set me up on a blind date.” She sighed heavily. “They’ve all been first rate jackasses.” Hermione pulled back, caressing his jaw with the back of her knuckles. “What’s so wrong with me that Ginny would think self absorbed idiots would be to my liking?” She gave a derisive snort. “I even had Sirius offering to be a match maker for me.”
“There’s not a thing wrong with you,” he assured her. “You’re beautiful and smart.” He kissed her eyes, which had him wanting to curse when he tasted her tears. Remus rocked her as she let out a hiccupping sob.
“I-I’m sorry,” she cried. “It’s just been a rotten week and I’m drunk too.” He smiled as he handed her his hankie. “Thank you.”
“You are most welcome,” he murmured, making her look him in the eyes. “I’ll get you some sober up potion…”
Her mouth covered his in a slow kiss that soon had him holding her all the tighter to himself. Remus’s fingers dove into her hair, pulling her back slightly and even growled when she licked his lips plaintively.
“You need to sober up,” he told her, his voice firm.
“I know, but I felt…” Taking a deep breath she went on with, “I wanted to taste your lips,” she breathed, shivering as she pulled away from him. “I-I’ll go…”
He stopped her from leaving, his arms going around her like iron shackles. Remus kissed her forehead, telling her, “You’re going no where. Lay down while I get the potion.”
She did as he ordered and waited in silence on the bed. A moment later he was sitting next to her, handing over the potion. Hermione took it, wishing that she hadn’t gotten drunk so she wouldn’t have made a fool of herself. Lying down, he spooned up next to her.
“Rest,” Remus whispered against her ear.
“Don’t go,” she breathed, her weariness making her feel needy.
“I’m going nowhere,” he assured her as he kissed her jaw lightly.
Hermione turned to him, pressing her face into his neck. “Remus, why do I feel this way? I’ve never begged or even wanted to before.”
“It’s the upcoming blue moon,” he told her. “It makes fools of us all. Especially so with our mates.”
“You mean to say that you’ve been acting the fool?” She sat up glaring at him. “With who?”
“You,” he said laughing.
Blushing, she whispered, “Sorry.” Lying down next to him again, she said, “I’m your mate?”
He nodded.
Hermione was silent a moment. “You do realize what this means, don’t you?”
“Tell me.”
She grinned sweetly and replied, “No more blind dates.”
“That’s the least of it,” he murmured, kissing her forehead and then her mouth in a way that had the young woman melting against him like wax.
“You’re mine,” she sighed into his mouth.
“Always,” he stated, pushing her hair out of her face as he lifted himself up to gaze into her eyes and saw more confidence in her own sexuality than he had in months. “Sleep.”
It was with a soft feminine yawn that the young witch curled up and drifted off to sleep in the werewolf’s arms.

“Have you seen Hermione this morning?” Ginny asked both Sirius and Harry the following morning at breakfast. “I just met someone that I thought would be perfect for her…”
Both Harry and his godfather groaned, “No!” and “Stop!” at the same time.
“What?” Ginny demanded. “There’s nothing wrong with Hermione going on blind dates.”
“We’re not saying that…” Harry tried to calm her only to have Sirius add fuel to the fire.
“I’m sure if the men that you were setting her up with weren’t such flaming gits, it would be perfectly fine.” He looked up from his coffee to see Ginny glaring at him even as Harry was nodding in agreement. “Miss Weasley, your taste in men for yourself is good.” He nodded towards Harry. “In fact, you have great taste. But in regards to Hermione Granger, you don’t know shit, my girl.” He stood up with the coffee mug in his hand, adding, “I don’t know your reasons and at this point I don’t care. But if Hermione gets hurt again because she thinks something is wrong with her due to the men you are picking out, you and I will have words.”
Once he was out of the room, Ginny turned to Harry in shock to find him glaring at her. “I didn’t know.”
“You might have asked her,” Harry muttered. “Merlin knows that we’ve both heard her complaining about the men you set her up with often enough.”
Standing up, she said, “Let’s find her.”
“I don’t think she was in her room,” Harry told the youngest Weasley. “I past by it on the way down. The door was open and she wasn’t there.”
Worrying her lower lip. “But where could she be?”
Five minutes later the front door of the house opened, letting in Hermione’s ringing laughter mixed with deep masculine chuckles. They both rushed out to see Hermione riding piggyback on Remus.
“Hi!” Hermione chimed as she got to the ground, keeping her arm around Remus’s waist. “It’s been a beautiful morning, don’t you think?”
Both of her friends were frowning as they watched the two standing very close together.
“I suppose,” Ginny answered. “Where were you?”
“Chores,” Hermione told them, as she pulled Remus over to the kitchen. “And now the alpha here has promised me an omelet fit for a goddess, excuse us.”
Harry and Ginny looked to each other puzzled. It was he who mouthed, “Alpha?”
Ginny on the other hand mouthed, “Goddess?”
They both rushed over to the doorway to see the two kissing passionately in the middle of the cooking area. The two were still staring in shock when Sirius came over and checked out what they were staring at so intently.
“Well, it’s about time,” he said casually, sipping on his coffee. Looking to Ginny, indicating to his friend currently snogging the girl in the kitchen with his mug, “Now that’s the right man for her.”
The End!

Thanks once again for taking your important time to read my story. Very special thanks go out to the nine who reviewed this tale to date (you know who you are!). It's great to hear from you as it lets me know if the story is as good as I hope it is. It also let's me know that my spell check, though a great and awesome thing, can't find all the errors nor is my recall at three in the morning as good as I hoped it was (thanks, Crazy P). So please if you could take the time to review, I'd be grateful. Take care and I hope to be getting another story out there soon. Have a wonderful day!
