Unnecessary

A/N: Song is Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode. (I was getting a little tired of just heavy metal...)

**Words like violence break the silence

Come crashing in into my little world

Painful to me, pierce right through me

Can\'t you understand, oh my little girl?**

Lily shakily walked down the stairs to the bottom and looked around the dark peach colored walls. She took a deep breathe and shuffled her feet forward, determined to get to the kitchen before she collapsed. Finally she grabbed a glass from the overhead cabinet and reached for the tap at the same time when her hand spasmed and the glass fell to the floor. She watched the glass like it was falling in slow motion, hoping against hope that it wouldn’t shatter but inevitably it did. Her mouth fell open as she stared down on the pieces of glass and tears started to well up in her eyes.

“Lily? I heard a noise, what happened?” Albus asked softly, walking into the kitchen and quickly taking in the scene of his sobbing sister, broken glass surrounding her. He swiftly grabbed a broom and dust pan to clean the mess up. She sniffled, realizing that Albus was there and not anyone else, the thought comforted her for some strange reason.

“I-I dropped-” she broke off, holding onto the counter for dear life as another wave of dizziness overtook her. He grabbed onto her before she hit the cold kitchen floor tiles.

“Lily?!” Albus’ voice rose, waking up Ginny who immediately ran down the stairs. She gasped, Lily was passed out in Albus’ arms, he looked up at his mom, terrified.

“Let’s get her to St. Mungo’s,” she hurriedly walked over to the fireplace, Albus following her.

**All I ever wanted, all I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm**

Albus was beside himself worrying over his sister as the doctors examined her, Ginny was sitting down, her hands twisted in her lap as Harry appeared with James trailing after.

“What happened?” Harry asked, looking between the two.

“I heard a noise so I went to investigate, Lily had dropped a glass. I cleaned up the mess, she was crying and when I asked her what was wrong she passed out,” Albus explained, Harry was suddenly struck by how adult Albus seemed right then. How different he seemed from Ginny or James. Ginny was always so immature and a slave to her emotions, James was the same as her in nearly all personality respects and sometimes it was hard dealing with the boy.

“How is she?” Harry looked to Ginny, trying to keep things under control, she looked up at him, fear and anger flowing over her pretty features.

“They haven’t come out yet to tell us,” she bitterly answered, shaking her head and wrapping her arms around herself. Harry took a deep calming breathe and looked to the door across from them. Soon it opened and a doctor slowly came through, looking at them all with a sad expression on his face.

**Words are spoken to be broken

Feelings are intense, words are trivial

Pleasures remain, so does their pain

Words are meaningless and forgettable**

“She has cancer, we managed to get most of it through magical surgery but she needs rest and she won’t be able to leave until we’re sure that she won’t relapse,” he explained. A coldness flew through the family at his words. Albus was in pure, numbing shock while Ginny and James were already starting to cry, she got up and embraced her eldest tightly. Harry tried to distance himself from the overwhelming feelings as he looked to Albus who was just standing there looking shellshocked.

“I’m sorry,” the doctor murmured before disappearing down the hall.

“I better go tell mom and dad,” Ginny said, pulling back from James and looking to Harry. “Will you stay here with her?” She asked softly.

“Of course, take James with you,” Harry replied, she nodded and the two disapparated.

“Are you alright?” Harry looked to Albus who snapped out of it and leveled emerald eyes that mirrored his on him.

“Let’s go see her,” Albus murmured and walked into the room. Lily looked like a ghost under the bright lights. Her dark red hair was the only thing that didn’t look washed out on her. She smiled weakly as they walked in.

“Hey,” she croaked out as they sat down next to her.

“Grandma and grandpa will be here soon,” Albus murmured, not knowing what else to say.

“Yeah,” she answered.

“How do you feel?” Harry spoke up, reaching for her hand and tightly holding onto it.

“Better than I’ve felt in a long time,” she finally answered.

“That’s good,” Harry murmured. Suddenly the room was filled with most of the Weasley family. Harry and Albus managed to move out of the room and they exchanged a weighted glance before heading down to the cafeteria.

**All I ever wanted, all I ever needed

Albus instantly recognized the platinum blonde hair across the room and a roller coaster went through his stomach. He felt like turning around and running the other way as Scorpius looked up at his father who was paying for their food at the buffet line. But he forced himself to follow his own father to grab a snack.

Harry’s eyes wandered around the room after they had gotten a couple of coffees and a small snack to share, neither one feeling that hungry. His eyes gravitated to the long blonde hair pulled back in a severe tail at the nape of his ivory neck. Draco turned his head to his young son, exactly Albus’ age. His profile was just as beautiful as he remembered, he shoved those thoughts out of his head as he led the way to a deserted table, Albus sitting down across from him.

“Everything alright?” Albus asked, looking up at his dad’s distracted face.

“Yeah, fine,” Harry murmured, returning his gaze to his coffee. Albus resisted the urge to look behind him, fearing that his father was staring at the Malfoys.

“Hey Albus,” that rich, chocolatey voice flowed over him and he couldn’t help the shiver rolling down his spine as he looked up at Scorpius who was standing at their table.

“Scorpius,” he replied, trying to mask his feelings.

“What are you doing here?” He asked.

“My sister...she collapsed last night,” Albus looked down on his coffee.

“I’m sorry,” real concern permeated his voice.

“Why are you here?” Albus asked.

“One of father’s mentors took ill and we’ve been visiting him,” he answered, Albus nodded, trying to avoid his boyfriend’s gaze.

“Sire,” Scorpius nodded to Harry who returned the nod. He then turned and joined his father who was waiting for him at the door, Harry looked at Draco who stared back for a pregnant moment before disappearing out the door after his son. Harry let out a breathe he forgot he had been holding.

“How’s your daughter?” Draco asked, sitting down across from him the next day at the cafeteria, Harry looked surprised.

“Better, they’re hopeful that she’ll be able to make a recovery,” Harry finally answered, Draco nodded, looking away.

“Look, I’m s-” Draco started.

“No, it’s fine. So what do you want?” Harry asked, feeling his old wounds from the man across from him start to open up again.

“I just wanted you to know that it doesn’t bother me...Scorpius and Albus being friends,” Draco’s explanation sounded lame even to his ears.

“Yeah, my wife is of a different opinion,” Harry grumbled, looking to the side.

“So’s mine,” Draco smirked, looking up at the face he once cherished in his darkest of hearts.

“Scorpius and Albus have been seeing each other,” Draco finally blurted out, not knowing how else to put it, Harry blinked, adorably confused.

“What?” He murmured, a coldness spreading from his hands and flowing up his arms as the words set in.

“They haven’t...gone too far but they’re heading that way. I thought you had the right to know,” Draco breathed, trying to look smaller than he was as he felt the cold anger build in the other.

“How do you know?” Harry felt betrayed that his favorite son forgot to mention such a big development in his life.

“I accidently found them one day a couple years back,” Draco answered, looking up into those swirling green eyes.

“And you’re telling me now because?” Harry trailed off, trying to control his emotions, his hands clenching into fists on the table.

“There’s something more going on, ever since a little bit before your eldest son graduated, something changed in their relationship. They’ve been more and more secretive. I’m afraid I don’t know what’s been going on between them,” Draco explained. Harry’s mind flashed back to the way Albus reacted to Scorpius yesterday. He looked like he was about stand up and take a swing at the other.

“And you think I’d be able to figure it out?” Harry raised an eyebrow.

“If anybody could, it would be you. I’m at a standstill with Scorpius right now. He wants blood for blood and I’m not prepared to give up my secrets and I don’t think you are either,” Draco’s eyes drilled into him. He took a deep breathe and nodded, looking away first.

“I’ll see what I can do,” Harry stood up and walked out.

Albus sucked in a breathe as he tightened his grip on Scorpius’ silk sheets, trying to relax as the other kissed his spine softly, his penis rubbing softly at his entrance. He looked up at the tiled mirrors that made a line across his ornate headboard. He took deep, calming breathes, trying to relax the knot in his chest as Scorpius lightly scratched his nails down his sides.

“Are you sure your father won’t be back soon?” Albus murmured, meeting those storm gray eyes.

“Very sure,” he breathed, his hand going down to Albus’ budding entrance, his fingers massaging it and lightly going in making him groan.

“Love you,” Scorpius dropped kisses on Albus’ soft skin as he dipped his fingers in deeper.

“Love you,” Albus panted, dropping his head to the pillows. Suddenly his wand lit up next to him.

“Albus, I need to talk to you,” his dad’s voice sounded angry as it boomed from the wand. He blinked at it, shocked.

“Can I be there in-” Albus stuttered.

“Now,” Harry growled and the wand went lifeless again. Scorpius had already pulled away from him and held out his clothes to him.

“I guess we’re going to have to save our first time for another,” Scorpius smirked, Albus gave a frustrated growl and grabbed his clothes from him.

“I’ll be back and we can finish this,” Albus grumbled, determined to hit his 17th birthday without his virginity.

“I’ll be waiting,” Scorpius grinned impishly as Albus took his wand and disapparated out of his room.

**Enjoy the silence, enjoy the silence

Enjoy the silence**
