Chapter 3- The Party and Diagon Alley
Chapter 3- The Party and Diagon Alley
Mary and Lisa arrived at Harry's Birthday party with Mary's little sister. Harry stayed up in his room waiting for Hermione to prepare them for his new form. Hermione didn't take long to get them ready. She called Harry down. Mary and Lisa were shocked when they saw him.
"Hi, Mary and Lisa thanks for coming. Is this your little sister?" Harry asked.
"Yes. This is Lilian. I love your new look," Marry answered.
"Nice to meet you Lilian," Harry said with a slight frown.
Harry turned and walked away to the shaded tree. He had to get away from Lilian. He could feel her magic, and he hadn't learned to control his new instinct.
"Don't worry about it Lilian. He had to walk away because he could sense your magic. He feeds on it now," Hermione explained.
"You are going to become like that?" Lisa asked.
"Yes, but nowhere near as powerful," Hermione replied.
"I don't know about that. There is a reason you’re called the brightest witch of your age," Harry said as he came up on them
"How about showing Lilian what she will be learning Harry?" Hermione asked.
Harry pulled his wand and said 'Expecto patronum' and a giant stag erupted form his wand. Lilian opened her mouth opened but nothing came out. Harry promised to tutor her when they got to Hogwarts.
"I've got to warn you that I can only use magic, because I am seventeen today and everyone here already knows about magic," Harry warned them.
Harry pulled Hermione into his arms and deeply kissed her. When Hermione pulled away, Lisa noticed her ring. It had a large diamond.
"When did that happen?" Lisa asked pointing at the ring.
"Harry asked me to marry him this morning," Hermione told them, excitement and love coloring her voice.
"We know this is happening fast, but we don't want to waste any more time. I still have to face Voldemort, and I could very well die soon. I want the world to know that I am deeply in love with her before it happens," Harry explained.
Harry lead the rest to the shade tree by the pool. Hermione ran to get her book that talked about Wraiths. When she was came back, Lisa and Harry were filling Lilian in about the wizarding world. She happily joined the conversation. Harry more then once stopped her from rambling by giving her a passionate kiss.
Hermione opened her book to the chapters on the Wraith. Mr. and Mrs. Granger joined in talking about what Harry was becoming. It was clear to everyone this was going to change things in both Harry and Hermione's lives. Hermione read a few passages out loud.
Wraiths are kin to vampires. They are known to have several unique abilities. The most common abilities of the wraith are that they naturally have two animagi forms. The forms vary from wraith to wraith, but it is generally one type of bird and one type of land animal.
Wraiths have the ability to shadow walk. Shadow walking is the ability to move instantly from one shadow to another. It is very dangerous to fight a wraith in a poorly lit area.
Naturally born wraiths are rumored to be able to use mind control by bewitching their victim though eye contact. Never look at a hostile wraith in the eyes.
Wraiths are the natural enemy of the Dementors. They feed on magic. If bitten by a wraith, you can be drained to the point of a becoming a squib or have your soul sucked out.
Only born wraiths can create a new wraith. Wraiths have the ability to gain the knowledge of their victim. Wraiths, unlike vampires, can only be killed by the loss of their head, destruction of their heart, exhausting their magic so that they can no longer heal.
The unforgivable curses seem to have no effect on a wraith.
In 1845, wraiths were classified as a grade A dark creature. The last known wraith was beheaded in 1900, but there are still rumored wraith sightings.
"Looks like we are going to have to learn the abilities on our own," Hermione mused. "It would be nice if there were still a wraith out there to teach us."
"Yeah, but I am sure with you and me working together, we will get the hang of it. You know we have always been an unstoppable team," Harry said with a smile on his face.
"How are you going to be able to learn to use the powers in a muggle neighborhood?" Lisa pointed out.
"We really can't. We will have to go into hiding until school starts. It wouldn't do to be found out before we can control our powers," Hermione mused.
"I am sure we will be able to find a hidden away spot that belonged to my parents," Harry told her.
"We will need a food source and someone that can teach us advanced magic," Hermione said.
"We could always kidnap Lilian here and feed on her magic," Harry joked.
"I don't know about that, but I wouldn't mind them coming with us. We could use some friends," Hermione replied.
"Let’s not forget about your parents herem Mione," Harry said pointing at Mr. and Mrs. Granger who had yet to say anything.
"We can always go with you. It’s about time for us to retire anyway," Mr. Granger teased.
"I know! Why don't all of us go and show Lilian around Diagon Alley tomorrow. I can buy Hermione, Lilian, and my school supplies tomorrow. You all can stay with us at our new house," Harry suggested.
The party wore down. Everyone promised to talk to their parents and get picked up the next day. The Grangers and Harry went inside as Mary, Lisa, and Lilian went home.

The next day they picked up Mary, Lilian, and Lisa. They had gotten the okay. Mary's parents hadn't had much to say about the idea of Mary and Lilian moving into a magic household since Marry was 18 and able to take care of Lilian. Lisa was 17 so her parents couldn't object to her moving out. They drove into London and parked outside the Leaky Caldron.
Harry was greeted by everyone in the pub. He was glad he had cast a glamour on himself. He wanted to avoid any unwanted questions. Everyone shook his hand twice. They finally managed to get out the back door where Harry tapped on the bricks opening the passage to Diagon Alley.
Harry took them to Gringotts. He added Hermione to his account and created one for Lilian. He had more then enough money and his investments made it so he never would have to work in his life. When they got down to Harry's vault, everyone was shocked. They knew he was rich, but it wasn't until they saw the vault that they truly understood. After Harry filled up his bag and they chose a place to live, they left Gringotts.
Lilian was having a ball. She was like Hermione in many ways. She was a bookworm, always had to know the answer. She was serious about her studies. Harry laughed thinking she was a copy of Hermione before he corrupted her. They had to drag both Lilian and Hermione out of Flourish and Blotts.
They went to Madam Malkin's robe shop. Everyone was fitted for robes. Harry snuck away at one point and Hermione payed for everything she and the girls got. She then led the girls and her parents to Ollivander's and got Lilian her wand.
It didn't take long for everyone to get all their supplies. Hermione took them to look around Wesleys' Wizard Wheezes and introduced them to Fred and George. After getting a few things and making Lilian promise not to use them at Hogwarts, they went and sat down at the ice cream shop.
Harry came walking up with four covered cages. He handed one to Lilian, one to the Grangers, one to Mary and one to Lisa. Lilian got a barn owl. Lisa got a spotted owl. Mary got an elf owl. The Grangers got a Eurasian eagle owl. He explained to Hermione that he didn't need to get her one as she could always use Hedwig.
They all went home and got packed. Harry had shrunk everyone’s luggage and put it in his pocket. They went to the train station and boarded the train after Harry shrunk the Grangers car. Mr. Granger picked it up and put it in his pocket. It was a long train ride to the Potter's Hideaway. After another hour by car, they finally arrived. Mr. Granger pulled into the Garage.
"Harry, Do you think you can place a Fidelius charm on this place?" Hermione asked.
"I don't see why not. Whom do you want to be the secret keeper?" Harry replied.
"I will be," Hermione answered
It took an hour to finish casting the charm. Hermione told everyone the address. The Fidelius charm made it so they would use magic since anything inside would be hidden form the Ministry. Hermione enlarged all the luggage, while Harry converted the basement into a dungeon. They would need a place to keep their food.

I know that I have pushed Harry and Hermione’s relationship pretty fast, but for this story I really didn't have a choice. The next even big event to come up in this story is Bill and Fleur's wedding. Harry and Hermione will be more intimate in the following chapters. I might start a rewrite if my beta tells me it’s a good idea, but as it is I will be leaving it fast paced. I don't think it is a stretch though. Harry and Hermione were always destined to be together until J. K. Rowling threw us a curve ball and changed everything that was already set up in her 7th year. I watched as Harry and Hermione danced around doing everything a couple does without actually being a couple.
