“Speech”

The next morning Harry woke up bright and early. "Uggggggggg." He groaned.
“Rise and shine.” Sang a voice from across the room. Whose voice is that? He wondered. Then he remembered, I’m not at the Dursley’s anymore.
“Finally awake I see.” Said a voice from across the room. “Hello sleepy head.” The voice said again. Who is that? Ohhh… right the mirror with the attitude. “Wake up! Gods you’d think the shopping would take care of itself.”
“Okay I’m up.” He said. Anything to get the mirror to shut up.
“Great now come here I have some style options for you. Come on now.” With a sigh Harry got up to go stand in front of the mirror. “Now I was thinking something like this.” Suddenly there was a copy of his reflection, full body wearing… uh…well leather and… uh…more leather and more leather! Oh, no way am I wearing that. He thought.
“No.” Mirror said seeing that he looked like he had just swallowed a lemon. “Okay how about this?” Now he was wearing tight black jeans, but they were only snug on the hips, everywhere else was loose but close fitting. His reflection was also wearing an emerald green button up dress shirt that fit him very well. Also there was a black leather jacket that looked really good on him.
“Ah, here we go.” Mirror said. It’s perfect but the glasses have to go.” Then his reflection was not wearing glasses making his eyes look bigger and brighter. “Oh and the scar is just too noticeable. Get some muggle cover up. It’ll work.”
Harry had to admit he looked good. “Great now go shopping. Keep to this style in mind and get some good robes, and one or two dress robes. Oh and stick to the darker colors. Light ones make you look washed out.”
After reassuring the mirror he would stick what he said he went off to go shopping. First stop muggle London. He picked up a map at the Leaky Cauldron and found he had to take a taxi half way across town. With a shrug he realized he had to get some money money before he could do any shopping. Guess the first stop will be gringotts. He thought.
Going to the ally behind the Leaky Cauldron he taped the right bricks with his wand and watched as the moved aside to revel Diagon Ally. There were less people than he was used to seeing whenever he was there. Probably because it’s only the beginning of holidays. He thought as he made his was down the street to gringotts.
As the huge white marble building came into view so did a group of red heads, which were going in the same direction as he. They must have spotted him also because the next second Ron was by his side saying, “Hyia mate. What brings you here so early in the holidays?”
“Oh I left the Dursley’s. Well more like they kicked me out.” This was partly true. “I was going to some galleons transferred to muggle money then go shopping for some new clothes.”
“Well come on then. Maybe we can help you pick up some things.” Ron said.
“All right let me just get some money.” He replied. Then he turned and walked past the huge golden doors into the bank. Walking up to a free goblin he said, “I would like to make a withdrawal.”
“Name please.” The goblin said.
“Harry Potter.”
“Do you have your key Mr. Potter? The goblin asked. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a small gold key.
Taking it the goblin said, “Very well. Griphook will take you down.” Then he called, “Griphook!” Harry watched as another goblin came over. “Take Mr. Potter down to his vault.” The first goblin ordered.
“Very well.” Griphook said. “This way Mr. Potter.”
One very long and bumpy cart ride later they were standing in front of his vault. Going in he filled his money bag with as many galleons as it could hold. Once they were back on the top if there was any way to transfer some of his money to muggle currency.
“This way.” Was all griphook said leading him down a hallway he had never been down. It was decorated like the main part of the bank. After going into what he assumed was Griphook’s office the goblin said, “We have two options for you. But first let me explain. Muggle money is very different from ours. A galleon here equal’s about ten dollars there. So how much muggle money would you like to have?”
“Uh…I think 10 000 would be good.” He replied.
“Good, now there are two options as to how you can manage your money. The first is I could give it to you in cash. The second is a credit card.” Griphook explained already counting out the right amount of galleons from his money bag.
“The credit card.” Harry said.
“Very well, one moment please.” The goblin said disappearing into another room. “Here we go.” He said handing Harry a platinum credit card. “Now the numbers here.” He said pointing to the line of numbers along the middle. “The end numbers are how much the card is worth. There will always be a zero before the actual amount so as to not get confused. The numbers will change accordingly to how much you spend.”
“Thank you.” He said trying to remember all of the information he had just been given.
“Oh, one moment Mr. Potter, you may want to come back on the day of your 17 birthday. You’ll be of age then and will be able to claim your full inheritance.”
“Okay I may not be in London much longer but I’ll try to be here on July 30th and come here the next day.” He replied half thinking out loud.
“Very well, I’ll be waiting. Until then Mr. Potter, have a good day.”
Finding his way back to the main part of the bank he saw the Weasley’s waiting for him.
“Let’s go.” He said. Seeing that Arthur had gotten a Ministry car (black sedan) that could fit everyone thanks to an expanding charm. The drive into muggle London was quiet. Spotting a store that held promise he asked Mr. Weasley to stop the car.
The display window had manikins wearing jeans and polo shirts. “Why aren’t they moving?” Ron asked.
“Because dear brother of ours…”
“…in the muggle world…”
“…things do not move…”
“…like they do in ours.” The twins said in their twin speak.
“Oh, really. Weird they are.” Was all Ron commented.
Laughing Harry lead them all into the store. He instantly started looking around. Following the mirrors advice he found a black pair of ripped jeans that were made that way. He also found three more pairs of blue jeans in a similar style. One pair was a faded blue while the other two were dark blue with fading in the middle. He also saw an emerald green shirt that was eerily similar to the one the mirror had put on his refection. He also saw a black leather jacket that also had a lot of similarities to the one the mirror had put on his reflection. He got the dress shirt in grey, black, emerald green and blood red.
Moving on, they went to so many other stored it was impossible to keep up with them all. He bought seven more pairs of jeans, five more dress shirts plus a bunch of tee-shirts, one of which was slytherin green with a silver dragon on the front. “Slytherin colors.” Ron had said in disgust. He even bought two pair of black dress paints. He had also found a sweater that said ‘I shall never grow up, make believe is too muck fun.’
Spotting a place that advertised laser eye surgery he walked in.
An hour later he was walking into the evening with slightly sore eyes. The optometrist had said that would be gone within the week. Harry had to admit not having glasses made him look good. His eyes looked brighter and bigger. Great now I don’t have to deal with these things. And with that thought he through out his glasses. He then realized the Weasley’s were no longer with him. Thinking back he vaguely remembered Mr. Weasley saying they had to go see Dumbledoor.
Next he found a store that sold make up. That had to have been the single most embarrassing thing he had ever had to do. Especially after he had to ask for help. Never again. He thought. Seeing that it was getting late he headed back to the Leaky Cauldron where he promptly collapsed in his bed asleep.
Okay I know but this is only the first part of shopping. Next he goes to Diagon Ally and books a flight to forks. Now my fingers are hurting.
