{POTTER MANOR AUGUST 8TH 1980}


Lilly had just placed little Lucas down for a nap, when she heard voices downstairs. Sighing she set the magical monitor before closing the door behind her. When she arrived downstairs, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin were taking turns with Jaime.


" Hi Lilly, you're looking good today." Sirius said with a smile. As Remus just nodded in agreement.

" Yes well after pushing out two babies in the span of thirty minutes, I'm amazed I don't look like a troll." She chuckled as she sat down on the sofa by her husband.

Remus was looking for the other baby, so he could get his scent for Mooney. When he realized the child wasn't there he turned to Lilly. " Lilly where's Lucas, Mooney needs his scent so he doesn't harm him."

Lilly's eyes widened and told him that Lucas was asleep. That he could go upstairs to the nursery as long as he was quiet. Because she didn't want Lucas to wake. Remus thanked her and headed toward the stairs.

" So James my friend, who will be the god-father of Jamie?" Sirius asked wagging his eyebrows causing Lilly to giggle and James roll his eyes.

" When Remus comes back down I'll tell you." James replied and then laughed as his best friend started to pout.

{Nursery with Remus/Lucas}


Remus quietly entered the nursery and walked to the occupied crib. Once there he saw the little one and smiled. He was about to lean down to get Lucas's scent when the child's eyes snapped open widely. Causing him to step back. Those eyes held power was the first thing Remus noticed. Shaking his thoughts away he leaned down again to see the child looking up at him with his arms up waiting to be held.

Thinking it wouldn't hurt he picked up the child carefully. Once Lucas was cradled in his arms he took a deep breath and groaned the boys scent was thunderstorm mixed with jasmine. He was brought out of his thoughts when Lucas grabbed his face and giggled.


Lucas was watching the man carefully as he was picked up and giggled when he was sniffed. So he decided to grab the mans face. Unknown to Remus as Lucas grabbed to bring their faces together. Lucas began to glow a shimmering gold that enveloped them both. When Lucas was finished his face inspection he yawned.

Seeing the yawn, Remus kissed his forehead before placing the boy back into his crib. Once he was satified the boy was asleep and covered he turn to leave the room.

{PARLOR DOWNSTAIRS}

Sirius was growling his impatience. Mummbling about all Remus had to do was take a sniff. Lilly however was worried. He was taking longer than she thought. While James was content with watching his heir Jamie.

" Remus what took so long? " James asked alittle coldly as he seen the man enter the room.

Remus smile before answering. " When I had leaned down to get a scent Lucas snapped his eyes open. So when he lifted his arms to be picked up I couldn't resist and held him a bit. Did you know he smells like a thunderstorm and jasmine. And when he yawned I laid him down and left."


Lilly just smiled as long as Lucas went back to sleep she didn't care that Remus held him. Sirius was confused at what was so special about the second baby that made Remus want to hold him. James was in contemplation over what was said and then asked Remus what Jamie's scent was.

" Well Jamie smells like rain and lillies."

At that James was satified and decided to get to the good stuff. " Well you both know that Jamie is my heir and as such he needs a guardian if Merlin forbid Lilly and I snuff it. So we couldn't decide between you both and we want to name both of you Jamie's god-fathers."

Sirius grabbed them first and signed his name with florish. Handing them to Remus he smiled when he seen the man begin to sign as well. As Remus was signing the documents he realized that Lucas would need a guardian as well and asked James. " Prongs will Lucas have a guardian as well?"

James shook his head no and went on to explain the pureblood law. That Lucas didn't need a guardian because he wasn't the first born and heir. He was just the second son. Remus was a bid angry at the open favortism and he could tell Lilly was feeling the same.

The Summer soon turned to Fall as the Potter's watched the boys grow. Jamie was turning into a loud and demanding child. Where Lucas was quiet and watchful. James/Lilly just figured it was because of his birth. Both hoping he would soon start doing things like his brother.

Christmas holidays at finally came. And with it James's third friend and fellow Maurader Peter Pettigrew saying he was on a mission for the Order. His reason for not arriving sooner.

Peter held Jamie first and laughed as the boy grabbed his nose. When he was finished Jamie was handed to Lilly. Then reached out to hold the smaller one. Once Lucas was in his arms the boy screamed. Peter and the Potter's were shocked and a bit confused. Lucas never acted that way when someone held him.

Once Lucas was in James's arms he could tell the boy was shaking like he was scared and that made James even more confused. " Hush Lucas, you're safe. Peter wouldn't hurt you."

Lucas sniffed 'smelling man, bad man' he thought as he bunched up his nose. When the others saw that jester they laughed. Which caused Lucas to stick out his little tongue before nuzzling into his robes.

" I guess he just wanted to stay with you James." Peter studdered as he slipped on to the sofa. James nodded as he realized Lucas had fallen asleep. Face still burried in his robes as if hiding.

James/Lilly decided to take the boys upstairs to their beds. Once the boys were taken care of they resumed their conversation with Peter in the Parlor.

Peter was telling them where he'd been and what was happening since the twins were born. Most of what was coming out of his mouth were lies. He was on a mission just not for the Order but for the Dark Lord and he wasn't going to fail.

The holidays went on as normal with lots of gifts. The Potter's were happy to have the twins go through their first Christmas will friends. When all was over Sirius/Remus went back to Black Manor as Peter too left. Little did they know he wouldn't be seen until the boy's first birthday.

{TIME JUMP: FEBRUARY 1981}


Albus Dumbledore finally felt he could see the Potter's. He had sent letters but with Hogwart's starting and the student's returning this would be the first time he was free for the evening. They needed to know the prophecy and with Voldemort stepping up attacks he needed the Potter's protected.

Lilly was in the nursery with Lucas feeding him. While James was downstairs with Jamie. She couldn't understand why James had begun turning a cold shoulder to her and Lucas. But it had started after his last visit to Gringotts at the end of January. James then spend all his extra time with Jamie and forgot all about Lucas.

Well so did she at times, little Lucas was so quiet. That half the time you didn't know there were two babies in the house. She shook her thoughts away as she began humming a tune to make Lucas sleep. She was just about to stand up with him when Lucas spit the bottle nibble out and grunted.

Sighing she got up from the rocker and went to the changing table. Once Lucas was situated she pulled the diaper off only to laugh as Lucas scrunched his little nose and placed a small hand over it.

" Yes, you had a stink Lucas." Lilly laughed as she cleaned and powered her little one. When the new diaper was on Lucas removed his hand from his nose and smiled up at his mother and gurgled what sounded like 'MA'

Lilly gasped as she looked down at Lucas and said, " What was that Lucas-baby?"

Lucas wrinkled his nose in consentration and then, "MA" came out of his mouth. Causing Lilly to grab him up and run downstairs to James.


James was lost in thought as his son Jamie was drinking his bottle in his arms. He remembered going to Gringotts to open vaults for his son's when he was told...

***FLASHBACK JAMES AT GRINGOTTS***

James had just entered the bank, heading toward on of the Goblins to get his Manager.
" My names James Potter and I need to speak to Glinkdok my bank Manager." He exclaimed when a Goblin was in range.

The Goblin just sneered and turned to get what James figured his Manager. So he waited until he heard a Goblin call his name and telling him to follow.

In Master Goblin Glinkdok's office, James began telling him what he wanted for his son's trust vaults and that Jamie was the heir as first born and he needed more in his vault.

Glinkdok was listening to Lord Potter closely but for the life of him, he was confused he knew that Lord Potter had only one heir and son. So why was he going on about another.
So when Lord Potter was finished he decided to voice his concern. " Lord Potter, I understand that you want a trust vault for your heir Jamie Harold Potter. However you only have one son and that is your heir. I'm confused as to why you'd need another trust vault for one Lucas Evan?"

James paled when his manager said he had only one son. He was their when Lilly gave birth to both boys. " What do you mean Lucas isn't my son. I was there when he was birthed."

Glinkdok was in a quandry he didn't want to voice his answer to Lord Potter. But he had no choice, "Lord Potter, I don't know how to explain this however here is the paperwork that was sent to us when your heir was six months. A Lucas Evan wasn't listed as a Potter by blood. As you know that before the infants leave the hospital a small sample of blood is drawn and sent to us so we could ready paperwork for a new child in a pureblood family."

James was beside himself as he listened to the Goblin. Shaken he reached for the paperwork that listed the boys name and parentage.

At seeing that Lucas was not his on paper. He became angry and growled. Yes he knew his wife had been captured by deatheathers while she was pregnant. But he didn't know that she had slept with one of them. Closing his eyes to reign in his temper he handed the papers back to Glinkdok.

"Just set up the vault for my heir, I will not claim Lucas as a Potter." James snarled as he stormed out of the office to head home. Not looking back to see Glinkdok shake his head sadly.

***END FLASHBACK****

James was shaken out of his thought when Lilly screamed. He jumped up with Jamie pulling his wand looking around to find the reason for her to scream. He sighed when she entered the room with Lucas in her arms.

" James, James Listen to this." Lilly said in excitment as she turned to Lucas." Come on Lucas-baby say the word again." Causing James to look at her like she was nuts. The bot was to young to talk yet.

Lucas looked up at his mother, and let out what sounded like a huff then said softly "MA". Before he yawned and closed his eyes snuggling against her.

James's jaw dropped when he heard Lucas say his first word. The boy was only seven months old. He didn't like the fact that boy was beginning to talk when his son and heir was still gurgling.

" It's great right James. Little Lucas spoke his first word. Well I'm going to put Lucas in bed and head there myself. Jamie kept me up until three this morning crying." Lilly gushed as she left the room with Lucas.

James was about to follow her until the floo came to life reveiling Albus Dumbledore with a bright blue robe with stars.

" Good evening James. How are you and the family?" Albus asked warmly.

James had to hold back a snarl. He didn't hate the man before him. It was just he remembered his thoughts earlier. Putting on a smile though he replied. " Everyone's fine Albus. Lilly just went to put Lucas down for the night.(Holding up Jamie) This is my heir Jamie Harold Potter." James replied with pride as he handed the boy to him.

Smiling Albus took the child. The boy is heavy thought Albus as he looked upon the Potter Heir with soft eyes. " James could you get Lilly, we need to have a serious talk and it concerns your family." Albus stated firmly as he sat in a large back chair placing Jamie on his stomach.

James just nodded sharply leaving the room to go after his wife.


{NUSERY}


When James arrived outside the door, he heard Lilly humming and he had to calm his temper. Opening the door he saw Lilly still holding the boy. " Lilly, Albus is here and he needs to talk of something important. So just put Lucas down and let's go."

Lilly looked at her husband with narrowed eyes. He was starting to get on her nerves with his attitude toward Lucas. Sighing she placed her baby down with a kiss on the head. Before following James back downstairs.


"Albus it's good to see you. I hope all is well." Lilly smiled warmly as she took Jamie off his lap and placed him in the cradle by the sofa.


" Good to see you as well Lilly. It's been months and I do apologize for not coming sooner. But with Hogwart's business and the new school year starting this was the first time I had the chance." Before putting a serious look on his face causing the two the sit straigher. " I'll get to the point James/ Lilly. In June of last year a prophecy was made by my new Divination Professor. And the first part said / Merlin shall be reborn as the seventh month dies...And the Dark Lord will mark him as a equal. He will have the power the Dark Lord knows not...Merlin will be reborn as the seventh month dies./ I didn't know who it would be before you and Alice had your children. But know it could mean Jamie or Lucas, so I feel that to be safe you all need to be placed under the Fidelus soon."

Lilly was silently crying that onw of her babies was going to have to defeat that monster of a man. While James was already convinced that Jamie was Merlin reborn.

" Where should we go Albus?" James asked softly as he watched his wife cry. He wanted to comfort her but just couldn't bring himself to. He felt betrayed because she had Snivillus's child.

Albus was deep in thought was several moments before he stated. " Is the cottage in Godric's Hollow still habitable? (At James's nod of yes) There I'll place the charm before the end of the week. Make sure you have a secret keeper ready by then.

" Sirius, He's the only one I want as a keeper Albus. Unless we decide to change it later we can ourselves right?" James stated with slight nervousness.

"Sirius Black is a good choice. But James if you want it changed you'll have to come to me. Because I'll be casting the charm so I'll have to be present to switch them." Albus replied strongly as he bid them good night and headed back to Hogwart's.
