Dentention
Beta'd by: Meagan Thanks so much!!!
The next morning, Hermione went to breakfast with Draco and Blaise.
"Hermione, what the hell are you doing?" Ron demanded, coming straight up to them.
"Going to breakfast, last I checked." She knew perfectly well that's not what he meant.
"Hermione, what're you doing with Malfoy and Zabini?" Harry asked.
"Going to breakfast. Hey Gin."
"Good morning, 'Mione, Draco and Blaise. Hermione I need some help on my Transfiguration assignment."
"No problem. I'll see you later on." She waved to Draco and Blaise, expecting Harry and Ron would follow. "Thanks for that." Hermione muttered to Ginny.
"No problem."
"They've started already this morning?" Dean asked, glancing over Hermione's shoulder at the still arguing boys.
"Unfortunatly. I just wish they would fucking grow up." Hermione stated, filling her plate. Hearing a shouted hex behind her, she whipped around pulling out her wand as she did. A whispered spell and the boys flew apart and rose about 2 feet in the air. Hermione stood and stalked over to Ron. "What the hell was that?" She demanded as Ginny reversed the Bat-boogey hex on Draco.
"You really have become friends with that git, haven't you?" Ron asked.
"Ah, so that's what this is about." She paused. "I'm sorry Ron, but you brought this upon yourself. Dentention for an unprovoked attack on the Headboy. This Saturday." She released them all from the spell, turned on her heel, and swept out of the Great Hall.
Ginny, Neville, Dean, and Seamus followed her. "Did you really just give my brother dentention?"
"Yes. He'll be helping Madam Pince in the Library." She decided.
"Well, I'm proud of you, 'Mione. That took guts." Seamus stated.
"Thanks, Shay. I just wish I didn't have to." She sighed. "Don't let me forget to talk to Madam Pince today."
That afternoon, in Potions, Snape actually awarded Hermione 20 points for her perfect Truth Serum. She knew perfectly well that that wasn't why she was given the points. "Miss Granger, could you stay behind a moment?" He asked when the bell rang. She nodded.
"Yes, Professor?"
"I wanted to thank you for your support of Draco this morning. He is my godson and I'm glad someone else is supporting him."
"He's my friend, Sir. I support my friends. Usually, anyway." She said, thinking of Ron and Harry.
"Yes, I was quite surprised when you gave Mr. Weasley dentention. Have you come up with something yet?" She told him about it.
"Ah, Severus there you are. Hello Miss Granger. Is everything well?" Professor Dumbledore entered the classroom.
"Hello Headmaster. And yes, it is." She turned back to Snape. "Was that all, Sir?" She asked him.
"Yes. Thank you, once again, Miss Granger."
"Of course." She turned and left.
Durning break, Hermione went to Gryffindor Tower to talk to Harry and Ron. Unfortunatly, the moment they saw her, they left. She tried to follow, but they managed to lose her. However, they couldn't escape her in Charms later that afternoon.
"I'm sorry." She stated, directing her words mostly at Ron. "But that doesn't mean I'll stop being friends with Draco and Blaise. I still want to be your friend, of course." She added.
"How can you possibly forgive Malfoy for everything he's done and said to us though?" Harry demanded.
"Truthfully, I haven't taken much he's said seriously since I hit him third year and he ran off." She shrugged. "But I've not forgotten it. There's a difference, boys."
"But his father....."
"Draco and Lucius are NOT the same person, Ron. Besides, they both need to know that they've got support on our side. That way there's less of a chance of them becoming Death Eaters."
"Hermione...."
"I'm not asking you to be their friends. Just to let me be and to stop arguing and hexing them." She cut Harry off.
"We'll try." Harry sighed, giving in.
A/N: I may very well be starting a new story soon, guys. I WILL NOT leave this one, nor it's prequel and sequel. Which, btw, which should I write after this? Prequel or sequel? Review and lemme know. And tell me if you want me to post my new story. It's Draco/Harry, if that helps.
