Chapter 3

Sorry, everyone. Here's another one.
_________

"Me."

The aristocratic voice held power, and not in a charismatic way, though he had that too. No, there was actual power behind the words and that worried Caleb to no end. He, Pogue, and Tyler turned around when the girls suddenly jumped out of their chairs, squealing and giggling, rushing to all but jump on the man who had walked up to their table. Before the Ipswich sons could get out any of the jumbled questions that they had on the tips of their tongues, the girls had already dragged the mysterious stranger to the dance floor.

Caleb raised both his eyes. He had never seen the two women act like they were now. Where before they had been smooth talking and easily more mature than their boyfriends, they were now acting like giddy school girls. And all of the excitement was over one guy. Weren't they already committed to the guys sitting at the table with him?

Caleb shook his head, trying in vain, to clear the confusion from his mind. The man was good- looking though, and at first glance, could have been Reid, but the tailored black slacks, aristocratic attitude and breeding, and gray eyes dismissed that notion. The arrogant English accent didn't help. Plus, while Caleb had never seen Reid dance, he didn't think that anyone could be as graceful and fluid on the dance floor as the man dancing now.

"Who *is* that?" Caleb glanced back to Pogue, who had asked the question, and then to Tyler who just shrugged, but didn't move his eyes from blonde who was dipping his girlfriend.

Caleb shook his head, wondering the exact same thing, but coming up with the exact same answer.

"I don't know." Caleb heard Pogue's soft growl as his friend moved to rise from his seat, all ready to storm over and grab his fiance` from the stranger. That was when Tyler laid a calm hand on Pogue's shoulder.

"Do the girls look like they're worried about him hitting on them?"

Caleb and Pogue turned their faces in the direction of Tyler assured nod. Yes, the girls were laughing, clearly having a blast, but it were as if they were dancing with another of their closest female friends. The stranger was also having fun, but the contact between he and the girls was pure fun and nothing at all inappropriate.
Pogue settles back down again, still suspicious but more content to sit back and watch Kate enjoy herself.

A couple of songs later, the blonde stranger suddenly stopped dancing, leaned toward the girls and whispered something to each of them before kissing their cheeks and slipping into the crowd by the bar.

Still giggling, Sarah and Kate walked back to their table flushed and grinning ear to ear.

"Have fun?" Caleb asked, smiling himself at their happy grins. They nodded, seemingly trying to come down from their slight douse of adrenalin.

"So who was that?" Tyler inquired, casually slipping an arm around Sarah's shoulders.

"Just a friend we met last night."

"He and his friend danced with us all night, while you all were with Tyler. They're great dancers, though Draco has actual schooling, Harry just wings it." Sarah supplied, turning her conversation to Kate, more for confirmation than anything else.

"Yeah, they're both so different from each other..."

Caleb tuned them out, trying to figure out where it was that he had heard those particular names from. While lost in thought, Caleb unconsciously let his gaze drift to the pool tables before sliding over to Reid.

Frowning, Caleb took in the challenging glint in Reid's eye as he shook hands with a man whose back was turned to Caleb. There was a clear bet of some serious cash riding on the outcome of the next game. The dark- haired man had broad shoulders and a tapered waist that indicated physical strength, while his mused raven hair and casual, relaxed posture indicated a friendly challenge, not one made out of spite.

Caleb saw the dark- haired man turn to face in Caleb's direction, clearly spotting someone he knew and as Caleb waited to see his face, the blonde hair of the stranger who had danced with Sarah and Kate blocked his view.

Standing next to the dark- haired man, the blonde stranger reached out to shake Reid's hand in a polite greeting. The look on Reid's face was peculiar, Caleb wasn't sure he had ever seen it before, but curious and open.

Reid was an excellent judge of character, if his look had been closed off, that would have meant that the blonde was suspicious and waiting for the other person to make the first move and if Reid had a cold and distant look, chances were the person was dangerous or at least highly unpredictable and Caleb would have stormed over.

From the openness on Reid's face, he knew that Reid saw no threat and was even a little intrigued. And if Reid saw no threat, then Caleb would relax... just slightly.
_________

Draco leaned forward to whisper in Harry's ear as the former Gryffindor reached forward to grab a pool cue.

“Harry, you don't know how to play pool.” The raven- haired man just grinned and a very uneasy feeling sunk in Draco's stomach when he recognized the mischievous glint in his lover's eye.

“Nothing a little wandless magic can't fix.” Draco rolled his eyes and put an exasperated distance between the two of them.

“Fine, but if you get caught, Potter, I will lay the sole blame at your feet.” Harry just caste him a very impish grin that only made Draco narrow his eyes.

_______

It took me FOREVER to decide on how to bring Harry and Draco into Ipswich. I had wanted to introduce them somewhat gradually.

ok, so it really wasn't gradual for The Sons, but the girls knew and do know who and what they are. The girls have probably read the books, so they already had suspicions before they approached Harry and Draco (they are very forward in the movie so that's the way they are portrayed here) and I think Harry and Draco would have gone for bringing the Sons to Hogwarts by being honest, rather than lying and tricking.

And I couldn't get over the image of our favorite wizards dancing, having an innocently fun time, with the girls out of my head, so I went with it. The girls, Harry, and Draco had met on the night of Tyler's ascension, which was the night before this chapter.

And if any of you were wondering, Reid probably thought he was seeing things when Harry came over and then Draco joined him, but he hasn't said anything to them. He's just playing along with their "game" at the moment.

The books do exist and were written for children, so the REAL horrors and Harry's life was sort of "toned down". He went through much worse, as did Draco, and Voldemort is NOT dead.

That leaves you with something to think about doesn't it? Lol.

Review please.
