Chapter 3

“I’ll tell you what you want to know Hermione, but you have to keep it to yourself and if you react badly I’ll have to erase it from your mind its too much of a risk but it’s up to you if you still want to know,” Harry said quietly to her.

She started to think about straight away knowing it had to be important if he was considering oliviating he, but she understood if it caused him and someone he loved danger. “Fine Harry tell me because I promise not to knowingly or unknowingly break your trust with this information, which I wouldn’t do as I would rather die than do that to you you’re my brother as well in all but blood, and I trust you to know what to do if I react badly to the information,” she said honestly.

“Ok for now I’ll keep this brief because the guard changes in two hours and ‘Dung is still asleep but its Tonks next anyways,” he started, “right anyway, you know how we rescued Siri, well when I got back to Privet Drive he was in my room waiting for me, so anyway we talked for awhile but he couldn’t stay long so he gave me a two-way mirror that he had the other one of, as we were talking I mentioned some strange dreams I’d been having but he said not worry about them as it was part of my inheritance coming through. Well you know what happened during fourth year but what you won’t know is that somebody had placed blocks on my magic, you know how hard it was for me to do the easier spells yet I had no problem with the harder ones that was because of the block I had on my magic, well you know at the end of the year Siri went to Remus’s but they both came to see me, I mentioned my trouble with the spells and Remus checked for any problems he found the block and they both removed it, but before they did they found out who out it on in the first place, it was the magical signature of Albus Dumbledore,” he held up a hand to forestall the protest Hermione was about to make,” listen ‘mione none of us wanted to believe it either but the proof was there. Well after Siri and Remus had calmed down well enough not to want to go after him on a full moon anyway, I started to wonder what else he could have done you know,” he stopped to take a breath to carry on. “So I told them about everything from the Dursley’s to all the things we went through at school and we analysed everything separately but we came up with the same conclusion, that the only thing Dumbledore cares about was having someone to be a pawn to fight Voldemort for him. That was when I asked Remus about the lineage potion, he said I needed to find someone who was good at potions to brew it for me and someone who had access to the ingredients easier than me and he’d help me do the rest.”

“But Harry, Dumbledore does care for you know why you’re at the Dursley’s, the blood wards and at school well we were all there Harry,” she interrupted him by saying.

“No listen Hermione, my first school letter was addressed to the cupboard under the stairs ‘mione sending Hagrid instead of a normal teacher like he was meant to, the Weasley’s, I love some of them but, Mrs Weasley forgetting the number of the platform no, the stone three first years could get past the protections, the basilisk Merlin how could he not of known you figured it out how hard would it have been for him to have done, he told us to save Sirius, not saying that as a bad thing but he told us how to do it basically. The tri-wizard tournament I read up on it and it says that if all the Headmasters agree then the candidate may drop out if they wish to but he said no not the others, Moody Hermione he’s meant to be a close friend of his how in Merlin’s name did he not know someone was polyjuicing him, this year don’t even go there Snape and occulmency we just don’t get along, well he may hate me but anyway, he ignored me all year yet still wanted me to tell him things it’s all been a test to him don’t you see ‘mione,” he left it there to give her a chance to think about it.

“Fine Harry,” she said after ten minutes of silence, “say that you’re right but why the lineage potion, and anyway wouldn’t they have found out I mean no offence but you were rubbish at occulmency?”

“Give me chance I’m getting there or was,” Harry said, “right the lineage potion, well you know how it works so I won’t explain that to you, after I got in touch with the twins for two lots of the potion, why them because they are good at potions I mean most of their products are based from potions and they owed me a few favours before you ask the reason as to why is I gave them my winnings from the tri-wizard tournament to start their shop, they agreed anyway and made enough to do mine and their own as well. Remus came to me and did the other bit with me as Siri had gone to headquarters, well as we were waiting I wondered about you so Remus came over to yours and got some of your hair don’t you remember when he just randomly popped over to see how you were he came back and we did yours as well. But you have to wait for the results and I was worried about hiding the facts from people, so Remy went to Siri at headquarters and they found books in the library about occulmency, oh and before you ask you wouldn’t have found the library because you need permission to enter and its hidden from view until the even Dumbledore doesn’t know about that, they brought them back the next day and we checked on the results of the potions we checked yours first and that’s how we found out about your adoption and stuff and made the bet then it didn’t bother any of us in the slightest. So anyway we looked at mine and we were so shocked Siri feinted, Remy rushed out to buy chocolate and all I could do was say oh over and over again, thinking back it was quite amusing. Anyway it’s known that my dad was the heir of Godric Gryffindor but he was also the heir of Helga Hufflepuff that’s not all though ‘mione, my mum wasn’t a muggleborn like everyone thinks her parents were squibs, through her mother she was related to Salazar Slytherin and through her father Rowena Ravenclaw.”

“Oh my, Oh my but… but Harry that means your related to all four of the founders,” Hermione said beginning to hyperventilate.

“Breathe ‘mione breathe, that’s not all though the next day Remus and I went to Gringotts, ye I know risk and all that, but I did a test to see which heir I would be of them, even if I couldn’t open the vault, we were even more shocked at the results even the two goblins there feinted as did Remus I just froze,” he paused took a breath, “It said I was the heir to Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Le Faye and Merlin.”

Hermione couldn’t say anything no words came out of her mouth for a few moments until she took a deep breath, “Harry that means you are the most powerful wizard around,” she paused and frowned, “but Harry that still doesn’t explain the occulmency and the fact that you believe that Sirius is alive.”

“He is alive that’s why,” Harry stated, “I’ll explain that in a minute though, you want to know about occulmency, well you know Remus is a werewolf well they have a natural defence to legilmacy, so he spent two to three hours every time ‘Dung was on guard with me helping me organise my mind so it was in two parts one with normal things in that I didn’t mind people knowing so much about and the other that had all the things I really didn’t want anyone too know. He suggested I build a wall around it with a familiar place that I felt safe so I did I also did the same for the outer mind, it took me two tries before I could keep him out so we spent the rest of the time just talking we figured I would need to allow some “visions” through to make it all believable but that was it, when Snape looked into my mind I only allowed him to see things which could humiliate me nothing else really. What else did you want to know?”

“Harry what about Sirius?” Hermione asked, “You said yourself that you saw him fall so how could he be alive?”

“Right that erm… it was a fake thing, you know the “vision” I had during the exam well that was the second time I had that, the first time I had it I used the mirror to contact Siri and told him about it. We knew that it was faked but I had to act all predictable and still go, which was why I was so reluctant to let you come with me. Siri created a Gollum which would act just like him to come and rescue me just in case anything happened. When he fell through the veil, I didn’t realise that it wouldn’t hurt Sirius to have it killed in that way so hence the way I acted it was actually real, even when I cast the cruciatius curse on Lestrange mind you I had to fake it then as well,” Harry said with a shrug, “Siri will be here with Remus in a bit any way to get me you can come with us or not your choice again.”

Hermione sat there thinking for awhile, Harry on the other hand conjured up some Butterbeer to drink and started to count in different languages in his head and waited for her to speak.

“Harry what next though, I mean I need to learn to block my mind but where will you go?” she asked confusedly.

“Well I go with Padfoot and Moony when they turn up because we will be doing an adoption ritual soon so that I’ll be their heirs too, then after my birthday I’ll be going to Gringotts then after that we can do what we’ve been planning on doing for awhile now since fourth year in fact,” Harry stated matter-of-factly with a thoughtful look on his face as if pondering how it was going to work out now.

“Right Harry but what do I do now I mean do I tell him or should I ignore it what should I do?” she asked hysterically.

“First you need to calm down, secondly you don’t need to worry about telling him as he already knows,” he replied.

“What do you mean he already knows? How does he know?” she was really hysterical by now so he handed her a calming draught which she drank.

“He knows because he, Lucius and the professor are standing over there behind those bushes,” Harry said grinning, “you can come out now Tom, Mr Malfoy, Professor Snape sir. I wouldn’t bother trying to apperate or port key away as there are wards up against it,” he finished with a roll of his eyes.
