Chapter 3

Paradise by the Sea Chapter 3

After the volleyball game Clive walked up and put a hand on Harry’s shoulder, startling the Gryffindor.

“What’s got you so jumpy?” Clive asked slapping Harry on the shoulder. “Your mind wasn’t on the game.”

“Nothing…well maybe something, but I don’t think I can talk to you about it,” Harry replied as he stared at his feet.

“Why not? I just may be able to help,” Clive saw the look of doubt on Harry’s face. “Come over to my bungalow and I’ll fix you a drink. We can sit in silence or you can tell me what’s bugging you. I promise I won’t pry.”

“A drink sounds like a good idea, but don’t be disappointed when I don’t tell you what’s wrong,” Harry informed Clive.

“So you’re telling me that your roommate was moaning your name as he came?” Clive asked Harry.

“Yeah, and he asked me to spank him…hard!” Harry emphasized as he sipped on his third scotch and soda.

“What do you plan on doing about it?” Clive asked, leaning back on the couch and stretching out his long legs.

“Nothing.”

“Nothing?”

“Nothing! It’s one thing for the man to call my name in a moment of passion. It’s quite another for him to want me when reality sets in. If I do anything, he’ll curse…I mean he’ll hex…I mean he’ll beat the shit out of me for coming onto him,” Harry said as he tried to clear his mind.

“Then don’t come onto him,” Clive told Harry.

Harry tilted his head in confusion as he stared at his new friend.

“Seduce the man,” Clive explained.

“Like I said, he kill me if I come onto him,” Harry said exasperated.

“Perhaps ‘seduce’ is the wrong word. Try romance. Try courting him,” Clive explained. “I’ve known too many men in my young life just like your Professor. They don’t even realize what the need until someone shows them. It wouldn’t surprise me if he were a submissive by the way he wanted to be spanked. It’s your responsibility to show him exactly what he needs.”

“And that would be?” Harry asked, incredulous.

“A master,” Clive said simply, “Someone to take control of his life. Someone that can take charge and let him relax and to stop making decisions.”

“In a strange way that makes sense. He’s like a rubber band stretched to its limits and about to snap,” Harry stopped to think about it. “But me being his ‘master’…I don’t know about that.”

“Harry, it’s just a word. He needs someone to take control. Start wooing him and simply see how much control he’s willing to give you. It may only be in the bed room during sex or it could go as far as you telling him when to eat and sleep. It doesn’t make him weak; in fact it his he who has the ultimate control by giving it up. I have a couple of books for you to read. They may give you a few ideas how to handle him,” Clive explained.

“Is there something you’re not telling me?”

“I’ve had a few submissive partners in my life, and, during a rough time in my life, I’ve even had a dominant,” Clive stated simply. “I might be wrong about your roommate, but take it slow and something good could come from it.”

“How should I start?” asked Harry.

Harry was squirming in his chair. The thought of Severus sitting at his feet with his head leaning against his knee was intoxicating, and his cock was starting to get hard.

“Be attentive and give him small orders, something like ‘It’s time to go to bed’ and see how he reacts to it.”

“I know how he’ll react to it…He’ll bite off my head,” Harry sniped.

“Yes, but it may also turn him on. We can always tell when a man is turned on, can’t we?” Clive nodded towards Harry’s own hardening cock.

“Yeah …right,” Harry shifted as he tried to cover his own erection.

“Would you like me to take care of that?” Clive asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

“Yesterday I would have said yes. Damn, I would have said yes earlier today, but for some reason, I fell like I would be betraying Severus if we,” Harry pointed at from Clive to himself.

“Gotcha,” Clive smiled. “Always been a day late and a dollar short.”

“But I think I’ll use your facilities to take care of my little problem before going back to my cottage,” Harry informed Clive.

“Harry, you’re too hard on yourself. It’s a very nice problem if you ask me,” Clive teased.

Severus had removed his outer robe but was still wearing his starched, white shirt that was buttoned up to his throat and his black weskit when Harry stepped through the door.

In one hand, Harry carried a plate of roast beef, mashed potatoes, and peas. Balancing precariously on his forearm was a spinach salad. Under his other arm was a bottle of red wine and in his hands hung two wine glasses. Around his waist, Harry had tied a bath towel to make Severus less skittish. Harry noticed Severus’s heavy wool robe hanging from the coat rack. He almost told his ex-Professor ‘Good Boy!’ but bit his tongue lest the man throttle him.

“Come to the table and have some dinner, Severus.”

It was a very small order, but Harry watched with bated breath to see how his roommate would react.

If Severus was aware that Harry gave him an order he did not acknowledge it, instead he walked to the small dining room table and started to pull out a chair.

“No, please sit here,” Harry said as he put the plate of food at the far end of the table.

Severus looked at Harry suspiciously before taking the two steps that it took to get to the other side of the table. Harry laughed softly when Severus lifted the chair and looked underneath it.

“Severus, you wound me. I would never think of sabotaging your chair. I respect you too much,” Harry smiled.

Severus stopped mid-way and glared at Harry.

“When, Mr. Potter did you come to respect me since this is the first I ever heard of it,” Severus asked, lowering himself onto his chair and starting to eat his dinner.

“Well, I thought if I ever gave you a compliment that you might keel over and die, and I wouldn’t want your death on my conscious,” Harry explained with a grin while he pulled the cork out of the bottle of wine.

Harry respected him for some reason, and Severus found the thought appealing and rather arousing.

Severus was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn’t realize he was eating so rapidly that Harry was concerned.

“Severus would you slow down eating before you choke.”

“What?” Severus looked up at Harry who was offering him a glass of wine. He looked down at his plate and was surprised to see his dinner was half eaten.

“My mind seems to be else where,” he sighed. “I would like to thank you.”

“Forget it. It was absolutely no trouble bringing you dinner,” Harry said between sips of wine.

“Even though I do appreciate the food, it was the fact that you took my feelings into consideration and put a towel around yourself for which I was thanking you.”

“I was not put on Earth to vex you Professor,” Harry said seriously. “We’ve been through a lot, and you have always been there for me. I thought it was time that I reciprocate, and since we have to live with each other for the foreseeable future, I thought that I should try to make it as easy on you as possible. If that means I have to wear a towel around here…it’s no big deal.”

Severus stared at Harry as if he had grown an extra head, “Who are you, and what have you done with the real Mr. Potter?”

A shiver went down Severus back when he heard Harry laugh.

When Harry stopped laughing, he noticed dark eyes looking at him in confusion. “I haven’t gone mad Professor. I’m making an effort to be your friend. Is there anything wrong with that?”

“No there isn’t,” Severus said slowly. “But you must forgive me if I don’t trust you Mr. Potter.”

“I didn’t expect you too, but in time I’m hoping to gain your trust. Now drink your wine and finish your dinner.”

Severus automatically lifted his glass and started to drink. Harry sipped on his own drink to cover his smile. He didn’t know what lay ahead for the two of them ,but he was going to try his damnedest to win not only Severus’s trust but also his heart.
