The attack

Harry awoke to a knock on the door.

"Harry, it's Alex, may I come in?" Alex asked through the door.

"Um...yeah," Harry replied, still sleepy.

"Hi, good morning! Well... evening, the sun is setting. Sorry, you have to be on our time here!" Alex walked up to his bed and handed him a pile of clothes. "Yours were ruined, sorry. But here are some of my younger brothers old things, they should fit you."

"Thank you," Harry said, sitting up, he gave a little yelp when he realized he was naked and had almost exposed himself to her. "I'm naked!"

"Yeah, well..." Alex laughed, wiping away a tear of laughter. "Your clothes were ruined. The bathroom is through that door, you can shower and change. I will leave so I don't accidentally see your bits, Aiden wouldn't like that."

She laughed as Harry turned deep red and then turned to leave the room, her laughter still ringing through the closed door as she walked down the hall.

Harry was still a little red in the face after he had showered and dressed.

With a cough, he grabbed up his Gryffindor courage and walked out into the hall. The hall was decorated with golden scones that lit the hallway.

Harry walked down the hall and down some stairs, ending up in a dinning room. Aiden sat at the table reading a thick book.

Stepping towards him, Harry realized he looked different.

"Hello, you must be the one they found in woods," the man said, his golden eyes never leaving the book.

"Yes, that's me, who are you?" Harry asked, standing in the doorway, not sure if he should enter or not.

"I am Julian, Aiden and I shared a womb," he smirked, turning the page of his book.

"Don't worry about Julian or Aiden, they are puppy dogs," a woman said, entering the room from behind Harry. She was gorgeous, with long dark hair.

"Do you have to be mean?" she asked Julian, hands on her hips, standing in front of the reading man.

"Yes, and I am not a puppy dog," he replied, glaring at the woman.

"You are a terrible at glaring, you know that?" she asked, leaning down and giving him a light kiss on the lips.

She turned and walked through another door on the opposite side of the room.

"I am not bad at glaring," Julian mumbled to himself.

"Harry! Up and about I see," Alex walked in, smiling as she held her husbands hand. "I see you met Julian, and yes, he is always that constipated like his twin," she told Harry, her eyes glittering.

"I am not constipated!" Aiden roared, pulling his mates hand so she spun around and faced him.

"Of course you aren't, honey, you just act like you have a stick up your ass," she smiled sweetly up at him while she said it.

He growled at her and pulled her into his arms and over his shoulder while she yelled at him to let her down. He sat her down at the table, with a glare.

"Harry, you can sit. They don't bite... well they do, but they won't bite you."

Harry spent the next hour eating, contacting his friends and family and learning more about Carpathians.

Soon it was time to leave.

"We got you a ticket on the local train to Budapest. From there you can get to the Magical Embassy and then get home!" Alex explained, smiling at him.

"Thank you so much," he told her, smiling back.

"Okay, enough smiling at my mate, let's go," Aiden said gruffly, earning him a roll of Alex's eyes.

************************************************************

Twenty minutes later, they were walking through the forest towards a human village.

Aiden and Alex walked ahead of him as Harry took in the majestic woods, they were beautiful.

Aiden stopped suddenly, turning in a circle to scan the area around them.

"Alex, Harry, get back to the house, now!" he ordered, his voice deadly calm.

"What is it?" Harry asked, nervous as he didn't have his wand anymore.

"Vampires, come on, Harry" Alex said, gesturing back towards where they had walked from. She turned and gave Aiden a kiss and told him to be careful, then started walking back with Harry.

"I am sorry I am no help, if I had my wand..." he offered, looking dejected.

"No, Harry, the only way to kill them is to rip out their hearts and destroy it," Alex explained, her face not smiling.

An owl flew up to them and landed on the ground, turning into Julian.

"Alex, Aiden wants me to escort you two home," he said, looking around them.

Harry had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.

"This feels weird, Julian," Alex said, worry evident in her voice. "I have never felt this."

"There are many of them, they are trying to set a trap," Julian replied coolly.

"What? Then go help, Aiden!"

"He will be fine, you and the stick waver won't if you are attacked." Julian didn't even look at them, just at the woods around them.

'Stick waver?! Of all the nerve!' Harry thought, he didn't like this Julian guy.

Suddenly, everything got quiet, too quiet.

Julian stopped and held up a hand to still Alex and Harry.

The attack came so quickly, Harry didn't even realize it had started.

Three vampires, their stench revolting, attacked Julian, who calmly stood his ground.

Two attacked Alex, who threw what she could at them, keeping them at bay.

Two walked up to Harry.

"What is this? A little snack, oh excuse me, human," the creature breathed, its smell almost making Harry vomit.

Julian, who had done away with the three he had been fighting grabbed one of the vampires stalking Harry and threw him across the woods, its body making a sickening crunching sound as it hit.

The other vampire quickly ran from the golden haired Carpathian.

Alex was beginning to lose ground with the vampires. Harry grabbed a large piece of wood from the forest floor and bashed one of the vampires over the head with it.

The vampire that had runaway reappeared behind Harry, slitting his throat.

Alex screamed and launched a beam of light at the vampires before running to Harry, who fell to the forest floor.

Harry coughed and tried to breathe as he stared up at the trees above him.

He saw Alex lean over him and start talking to him, but he couldn't hear what she was saying.

Bright lights flashed behind her and then two new faces leaned over him, Aiden and a man with black hair and cruel silver eyes.

Then, everything went black.

Maybe, he thought, he was meant to die after all.
