Chapter Three

Thanks to a few specific peeps:
Samayel - Thank you for the input on sentence structure. I really have a difficult time getting my sentences to flow. This is honestly the first piece of creative writing I've done since I was in Middle School, (years and years ago. lol) so I assume it will take me a little bit of time to get the hang of it again. I totally appreciate the review. :) BTW, your fanfics are awesome. :P

D/s_Fan10 - Don't worry, it will have a happy ending, I'm not too into sad endings on a goofy fic like this. Only on serious ones. And I prefer Harry being the dominant too so yeah. Thanks for the review. :)

Note: There is a lot of dialogue in this chapter, I guess I just do that because sometimes I prefer to read a lot of dialogue rather than narrative. Let me know if this bothers you.
Ok on to chappy 3.

Darkness.

Darkness was the only thing Draco could see or hear. No, wait. He could hear sounds. Broken
voices most likely, talking about him.

"...Mr. Potter no need to stay here any longer, I appreciate you bringing Draco to me, and so
promptly but he just has a little bloody nose and a slight concussion, nothing a few of
Severus' potions and some rest won't fix."

"But Madam Pomfrey, I thought I would stay and..."

"No no, you know classes resume tomorrow morning. And I have told you before how important
sleep is, my dear. I always say, sleep and a hearty breakfast-"

"But he'll need someone to..."

What? No! Let my handsome, brave rescuer stay and comfort me. What if...uh, what if my
attacker comes back to harm me again?! I'll need his protection, and those strong, lovely
arms...mmm.
Draco had to do something about this healer sending his crush away.

"Uunnhh, my head..." He shifted around on the bed to catch their attention. The Blonde Boy had
always been good at getting what he wanted, he wouldn't exactly call himself spoiled but - ok,
maybe he would.

"Oh it looks like our patient is awake." She approached the side of Draco's bed with Harry
in tow, and began muttering various spells to assess his condition.

"How are you doing, my dear? You took quite a spill." She finally said after determining that
his condition had improved as expected.

"My, my head hurts a bit but other than that I think I feel fine. I may feel better with
someone to keep me company and..." He shyly made eye contact with his saviour who happened to be
very esthetically inclined. And more importantly, Mr. Hero was gazing right back at him.

"Good, good! That's great. Well, since I'm not sure we've been properly introduced, I am Madam
Pomfrey and I'm the Healer here at Hogwarts. It's a shame, dear, that we must meet in these
circumstances so early in your visit, if at all, but such is life. And this here is Harry."
She moved aside and motioned for him to step forward. Which of course he did without breaking
the deliciously shy eye contact they were sharing. "He tells me you were pushed down in the
halls right after the welcoming feast and..."

Harry. Oh Harry, that's a delightful name. Harry, Harry...

"Draco? Mr. Malfoy? Are you still with us, dear, is your head feeling fuzzy at all. Are you
tired maybe?" This Madam Pomfrey was getting annoying, Draco was fine, he was just in the
process of falling in love with Harry's name. Merlin!

"You know, Mr. Potter, maybe it is a good idea that someone stay here with him tonight. He is
quite new here after all and I don't like his inability to focus, it leads me to believe he
should be under supervision. I hate to burden you Harry, but I have so many students under the
weather that I really must be tend to. If you could simply keep an eye on Mr. Malfoy all night
I would greatly appreciate it."

Well this was a pleasant turn of events. "Oh...erm, yeah of course, Madam Pomfrey. What should
I um," Harry fidgeted nervously, "...what should I look for?"

"Oh just make sure nothing happens to him, I'll be back tomorrow morning, if anything does
happen Harry you let me know." She turned to Draco who had a surprised yet oddly happy look
on his face. "Mr. Malfoy, again I'm sorry about your accident, but it was nice to meet you.
I'll check in on you in the morning. Sleep well boys." And off she went, leaving both boys
with a stunned look on their face.

Harry, what have you gotten yourself into? He's a boy if you didn't notice! A boy who you
happen to have a crush on. What did you think was going to happen when she left you alone?

It was Draco who spoke first. "So...uhh, you're Harry?"

"Yeah, that's me. Erm, Harry Potter. And you're Draco." Draco nodded.

Silence. Awkward silence. Someone must fill it. "You know, it...it wasn't an accident that you
fell down today. I saw it, I saw someone push you down. I'm sorry." Harry rushed.
The blonde looked up at Harry, confused and slightly hurt, his eyes imploring.

Aww, he's so cute...I won't even deny it. I just wanna kiss that sad look off of his
face.

"Well I was nearly at Gryffindor tower and I was kind of lost in my thoughts for a moment," he
paused and blushed a bit. "Then from somewhere behind me I heard...leshovpretboy." Harry had
mumbled the last part quietly.

Draco's eyebrows quirked, "You heard what?"

Harry was now fully red-faced. "Umm, well I heard someone say uh, 'let's shove the pretty boy'
I didn't even register it completely until you were on the floor."

Draco had no response, he was silent and Harry didn't know him well enough yet to read what he
was thinking. He assumed it wasn't good though, by the way the blonde's dainty hands twisted
in his blankets.

"I won't pretend I'm not used to it." He finally looked up at Harry, his eyes shiny. "I
realized I was different than most boys a long time ago and children can be particularly
cruel, even as young as 6. I was...I am bullied a lot. I've grown numb to it, mostly.
Don't worry about me."

Harry walked closer to the sad boy sitting hunched over on his bed. "No," he spoke softly.
"You've come to a new school, you're our guest. You shouldn't be teased or bullied just
because you're a pretty boy...er, I mean girly, feminine, uhh not like I think you're
pretty just that..." Harry wasn't sure how to approach that last part, and now he was
blushing and stumbling and grasping for words.

Draco was smiling inside. He called me pretty, even if he didn't mean it! And he's so cute
when he blushes. I should probably help him out right now before he turns so red he
explodes.

"Harry, it's ok. I know you don't think I'm pretty, I know what you mean. And thanks."
And then something happened. Harry had had these bursts of random courage before, just never
this kind of courage. He hoped he wouldn't regret it as he reached his quidditch-tanned arm
out and wiped the single tear that threatened to spill from Draco's eye. Draco dreamily
blinked and looked up at Harry. They were both perfectly still. Not sure what to say or do next.

All they knew was that the skin contact was so delicious. Just that little part of Draco that
Harry touched with the tip of his finger was burning. Burning with a heat that neither wanted
to say goodbye to.

Silence, and this time it wasn't awkward.

Harry mumbled something, far too quiet to hear. "What was that...Harry?"

"I said that umm, you're skin is so soft. You know, on your face, when I touched it. It was,
it was nice."

Ok, why would you say something like that Harry? Please consult me before you go and
embarrass yourself like that. Honestly.
The rosy color on Harry's cheeks reached an all
time high. In fact, had his cheeks really been normal since Beauxbatons' arrival? No.

Well at least he wasn't the only one blushing. Draco ducked his head shyly. "Oh, um thanks,
Harry, I guess it pays off in certain ways to be sent to a school filled with so many girls.
They do have the best beauty tips, just last week the girls had my entire face covered an inch
thick with this green putty, supposed to shrink pores, it looked remarkably like vomit to me."
He made a disgusted face which soon turned into a smile.

Harry giggled. And Draco swooned. This was the first time they'd seen each other smile, and
they both were in heaven.

Over the next hour Harry and Draco continued talking about nothing in particular. During this
time Harry had gradually scooted his infirmary chair all the way up to Draco's bed and they
were now just inches apart laughing about Quidditch.

"...Well have you ever caught the Snitch in your mouth? Because I can proudly, or maybe not so
proudly, say I have." Harry laughed.

Draco giggled himself but was actually impressed. "Harry, you must really be great at it! I,
well I've just played a few times with some of the boys back at Beauxbatons, I would love to
see you play sometime. Or just fly around and look sexy on your broomstick for that matter. He blushed. Oops.

"What's the matter Draco? Headache coming back? I can get Pomfrey if you need something!"
Harry was so cute when he was concerned.

"Oh no, I'm fine it's just...well I've really only flown a few times, I'm not even that good
on a broomstick," The Blonde recovered.

Harry got this excited look on his face. "Really? Well that's great, why don't I take you
flying some night soon and I can teach you how to fly! I'll be very patient and give you lots
of pointers and catch you if you fall..." He didn't mean to say the last part, it just slipped
out! Draco certainly didn't mind, the thought of Harry catching him if he fell sent
butterflies to his stomach.

"Harry I would love to! But you can't laugh at me, I really am rubbish at flying. So no poking
fun." Draco vaguely thought of how sore his face was from smiling for so long. He just wasn't
used to it.

"Aww, of course not. You'll see, it will be great. I bet you're a natural. And with my help,
by the end of our lesson you'll be looking graceful and beautiful up there on your broom."
Harry got a glazed over look on his face, as if he were actually picturing Draco on his broom.
And once again blushed.

"Um, thanks Harry." Oh wow, he thinks I'm beautiful. This is too good to be true. Totally
worth a bloody nose and concussion.

"Of course." Harry's smile was sincere. "Does tomorrow night sound good, it shouldn't be too cold?"

Neither boy noticed as Harry's hand smoothed its way over to Draco's blanket-covered thigh and
worked it in small, soothing circles.

They were too busy planning their first...date?
