To Woo the Stuborn
Detention
“Harry, are you OK? You ran out of there so fast no one knew what to do with the award. You didn’t eat. And let me tell you, Snape was even surprised to see you run so fast. And-“
“Ron, shut up. What time is it?”
“Umm…almost seven. Why?”
“Crap, I got to go to detention.”
“With Snape? Good luck!”
“Thanks, I’ll need it.”

He stood out side Snape’s classroom door, hand ready to knock, when it swung open.
“Mr. Potter. I’m glad you decided to show up.”
“Why wouldn’t I show up for a detention? I would get into even more trouble if I didn’t,” Harry grumbled.
“Well, at the speed you ran out of the Hall after what I said, I thought you would be too upset to show.”
“I don’t know what you said. I’m not a lip reader. Besides, I’m never too upset to do anything,” Harry said through gritted teeth.
“Fine. Get to work, Potter.”
After an hour of cleaning the workbenches, reorganizing the ingredients, and slicing and jarring leaches, Snape spoke up. “Potter, you said you were never too upset to do anything. Why didn’t you accept the award?” There was sincerity in his voice; not the usual menace and sarcasm, though his face was like stone.
“I didn’t deserve it,” Harry answered, eyes lowered and teeth clenched.
“Yes you did. You were The Boy Who Lived, and now you are The Boy Who Defeated Him. Isn’t that something to celebrate with your friends at the Three Broomsticks?”
“Ha! You only wish. Sir.” He added the ‘sir’ when he saw he would get a tongue lashing for not respecting Snape.
“I don’t like your attitude. You did deserve it. I wish you wouldn’t be a sacrificial Gryffindor. You’re done tonight. Go celebrate your victory with your Gryffindor friends.”
Without a word, Harry left as quickly as possible. But he wasn’t going to celebrate. It had only been a week since they’d been back from a Voldemort-free summer; he was tired of celebrating. He had gone to the Weasley’s house and celebrated almost every night until midnight.
Ron wasn’t in the room when he got there. Harry supposed he was in the common room celebrating like his twin brothers would have if they were there.

A/N: Going on a two week vacation, so I don't know if I'll be able to update while there. Going to see a concert at the end of it. Should be fun. Will update on Teddy Bears one more time and add one more story before. See profile for stories in other places. Again, though. Stuck for the rest of this. will think about it over vacation.
