What If...

What If...

‘When is this bloody speech going to end?’ Fred said getting very tired.

‘Not anytime soon the way she’s going.’ George replied. ‘Who the bloody hell is she anyways?’

‘Do you guys ever listen to anything?’ Nuria asked trying to stifle a yawn.

‘Of course not, if we did we would have higher O.W.L.s.’ Fred said while Nuria rolled her eyes.

‘Well, she’s from the Ministry. She’s here to keep an eye on us or maybe just you blokes.’ Nuria said with a smirk. ‘You do cause more trouble then Snape gives out detentions, and that’s saying something.’

‘Well, we should give her a welcoming present and it should be a big one too because she’s from the Ministry.’ Fred and George smiled wickedly. ‘Lee, you in on this?’

‘Of course I am.’ Lee had a big smile on his face and he was already thinking of different ways of torturing or ‘welcoming’ the new professor.

‘You guys are bad.’ Nuria said also thinking of fun ways of torturing her. ‘Anyways, I can’t help you guys. I promised my mum that I wouldn’t get anymore detentions.’

‘When was the last time you kept your promise to your mother?’ Fred asked with a smirk on his face.

‘That’s beside the point; I promised my mum that I will not get a detention and I intend to keep that promise.’ And with that Nuria turned around and watched as Professor Umbridge continued making her speech. Nuria tried to listen but it was all to boring to her which made her drift in to a daydream.

~*~*~Flashback~*~*~

‘This is hopeless Leanne.’ Nuria fell on the couch in the common room feeling very frustrated. ‘I mean I have flirted practically every single day since I found him and Angelina weren’t dating, yet he still doesn’t get the bloody hint.’ Nuria sighed very hard and moved her feet so Leanne could sit down. She, however, didn’t notice a certain red-head hiding away in the stairs that went up to the boy’s dormitory.

‘That’s because Fred’s a git.’ Leanne said with a smile.

‘He is but he’s a hot git.’ Nuria sighed again. ‘I’ve hinted at him about taking me to the Yule Ball but no he takes Angelina instead. I just don’t get it. Why do blokes have to be so… so… stupid?’

‘Because men, unlike us women, don’t need hints, they need huge signs saying we want them.’ Leanne pretended to hold up the sign.

Meanwhile, Fred was at the stairs listening in. ‘That’s why she’s been getting close lately and she thinks I’m hot.’ Fred thought having a big smile on his face.

‘When did you start liking him anyways?’

‘I liked him when I was in my first year. A bunch of us were trying to find the Great Hall for lunch. We were in a deserted hallway when all of a sudden a big thick fog came in.’ Nuria said remembering that day very well. ‘We were lost already and having this happen made us a little uneasy. Anyways, when the fog started to clear up I noticed both Fred and George laughing behind a suit of armor. I know it was mean but I found it really funny and remember I have a very strange sense of humor.’

‘That’s when you first noticed them though, when did you start liking Fred?’ Leanne asked again.

‘It was pretty much that point on. I don’t know, I just thought Fred was interesting and I always could tell them apart. It was hard at first but you would notice that Fred is just a bit shorter then George.’ Nuria smiled again.

‘Why don’t you just tell him straight away? Wouldn’t it be easier?’ Leanne was concerned for her friend.

‘It probably would but I’m just afraid he would say that I’m only good enough as a friend and I don’t want that.’ Nuria started to look at her hands trying to keep her emotions from taking over.

‘But what if he doesn’t? What if he really does like you back and you’re acting like a total git like him?’ Nuria thought about it and she always came up with the same solution – he only sees me as a friend.

‘But what if this ruins our friendship?’ Leanne didn’t answer. She has seen many relationships that went very wrong and the two people who use to be friends can’t even look at each other anymore. ‘Anyways, I need to take a walk and think this through. I’ll see you in a bit Leanne, and thanks for the help.’ She got up off the couch and left the common room.

‘See ya Leanne.’ Fred said walking out of the stairs.

‘See ya Fred.’ Leanne turned around noticing Fred going through the portrait. ‘Oh bloody hell.’ Leanne’s eyes were huge like saucers realizing that Fred had heard everything.

Nuria walked around aimlessly thinking about all the ‘what ifs’. She turned left on another corridor and halfway through it everything went dark. Nuria panicked thinking that something happened to the school. She tried to look for her wand but remembered that she put it on her night stand in her dormitory. ‘Oh bloody horse shit.’ Nuria swore to herself.

‘I didn’t know horse shit was bloody.’ Said a voice that seemed to be close by.

‘Who are you and why are you doing this?’ Nuria shouted with a shaky voice. She hated the dark ever since she was a child. She would always have a small harmless fire that her mother would conjure up when she slept at night.

‘You can’t recognize this hot git’s voice?’ Nuria was about to answer but she felt someone pull her against his chest. Knowing who it was Nuria just took his hands and smiled, then her face became red, not that he would notice, realizing that he had heard the whole conversation she had with Leanne.

‘You over heard us then?’ Nuria whispered forgetting that it was pitch black.

‘Ya, I did and Leanne is right you know, you should have told me straight away or even better with a big sign, that would have gotten my attention.’ Nuria giggled at that comment. ‘So tell me, what if I did like you back? Also, what if I did ask you out, would you say yes?’ Fred whispered into her ear. Fred did the counter spell to make everything light again. Nuria had to squint her eyes a bit and when she got her vision back she turned around and looked at Fred.

‘I would have to say yes.’ She whispered back. Fred lowered his face to hers kissing her softly.

~*~*~End~*~*~

‘Ria, you still there?’ Fred said waving his hands in front of her face.

‘What? Is it done yet?’ Nuria looked around feeling a bit confused.

‘It’s been done for awhile now, love. Are you ok?’ Fred asked with a concerned look on his face.

‘Ya, I’m fine just had my mind somewhere else.’ Nuria and Fred got up with the rest of the school to go to their dormitories. ‘I’m just a bit tired is all.’

‘Well, where did your mind go?’ Nuria smiled at this.

‘I was just thinking about the day we got together.’ Nuria answered.

‘Ah yes, the day you called me a hot git.’ Fred laughed as Nuria slapped his arm. ‘I cannot forget that day.’

‘Yes, the day when you almost raped me in the dark.’ Nuria said seriously.

‘It’s not rape if you’re willing.’ Fred wiggled his eyebrows at her. ‘Anyways, we didn’t even do much, we just kissed.’

‘Yes and it was a very nice kiss.’ They stopped in the middle of the corridor. Nuria wrapped her arms around his neck and they started to kiss.

‘Oi! I told you guys to get a room.’ Lee yelled through the crowd.

‘Bugger off Lee before I tell Angelina what you think about at night when you’re at the loo.’ Nuria yelled back. Lee turned red and started to walk back to the Gryffindor common room. ‘I knew that would shut him up.’ Nuria kissed Fred again and they walked back to their dorms.
