3-Love me and leave me?
Meanwhile in the infirmary…
Harry looked at Draco in stunned silence.
“The Elven race? Not much really. Why?”
Draco sat on the same chair where Harry had sat earlier and looked at Harry seemingly waiting for something.
Then it dawned on the Gryffindor and his eyes grew big.
“Are you an elf, Draco? Is that why you've changed?”
“Yes Harry, on both accounts. I am what is known as an 'Ilde Elvere', a Dark Elf.
I come from a very old and noble Realm, but I can't tell you the name.
Only when I find my bloodmate and he or she is connected to me, can I say it.
I changed, because today is my seventeenth birthday and I became of age in the human world.” Draco said in a tight voice.
“Happy birthday, Draco.” Harry mumbled.
He had a sinking feeling that what Draco was going to tell him next, wasn't going to be something he wanted to hear.
He knew he was right when he heard Draco say;
“Our friendship started today and has to finish today.
I am supposed to start looking for my bloodmate and I am bound by certain laws of our world to not continue any connections I have with humans because of my heightened senses.
If a human was to interfere, they'd be in danger. I could and would rip them apart. I have to find my bloodmate by smell and a human’s would interfere with my senses, making me more agressive.”
Harry gasped and felt like crying.
“NO! NO! YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!” Harry cried out.
He was going to be abandoned again.
Harry wasn't thinking of Hermione or Ron or any of his other friends.
No, Harry was thinking of his godfather Sirius, who had been killed in the Ministry of Magic.
He thought of his parents that he had never gotten to know, because they had been killed.
He thought about his miserable youth with his abusive relatives, who treated him like a slave.
All because of Voldemort.
Now he would lose someone, he only now let into his life, because of some fucking law. This couldn’t be happening!
“We just started to be friends and now you are leaving me again?”
“I just...I can't...I need...” Harry sobbed, “IT’S NOT FAIR!”
Draco looked at Harry with a look of grief in his eyes and stood up.
“I don’t want to, Harry…I have to” he said and moved out of the infirmary at lightning speed.
Professor Snape watched the two boys with a thoughtful look on his face.
He left right after Draco and after a while Harry noticed he was alone. He got off of the bed, while trying to control his breath and drying his eyes. This turned out to be the worst day of his life yet.
Even when Voldemort had been around, Harry hadn’t felt like this.
He told Madam Pomfrey he was leaving and walked out the doors on his way to the dungeons.
Leaving a pensive Madam Pomfrey behind.
She was going to have a talk with Albus, right now.
*******************************
Draco left the infirmary and Harry in a hurry.
He stormed down the stairs and straight out the doors of the castle.
He needed time to be alone.
Elfs were not known for their display of emotions, but Draco had felt like crying, when he saw what his words did to Harry.
*Why can’t anything ever go normal in my life?* he thought bitter.
After a while he noticed he walked right into the Forbidden Forest.
He wasn’t scared though.
Draco knew the creatures living in it would pause no threat to him.
He was, by all means, the most dangerous creature of all.
Draco could move faster than a vampire, kill smoother than a trained assassin and attack deadlier then a king Cobra.
His senses were all heightened.
He saw, heard, smelled, tasted and felt a tenfold of any other creature.
Sitting down on a bolder, he thought about his next step, he had to leave.
In his mind he send an image to the headmaster, stating he was on his way to the Realm, where his parents would be waiting.
He heard the thrill of Fawkes, the headmaster’s phoenix, coming from the castle.
From that thrill he knew the Professor had received the image and started walking again.
Draco didn’t think about or questioned his new abilities.
He grew up learning all he had to know about his race.
No wonder, as his ‘human’ parents were his elven parents as well.
Lucius and Narcissa were actually King Zawain and Queen Zeven Willows from the Blue Oak Realm.
Draco actually was a prince. Not just the ‘Slytherin Ice Prince’.
He was Prince Yuraish of Blue Oak.
He sighed and started to run.
He had to move fast and he knew it.
*******************************
In his office the headmaster heaved a sigh himself.
He told Minerva all that had happened.
He hoped the boy would be okay.
Which boy he hadn’t decided yet, though.
As he started to speak again his office door was thrown open and a determined Madam Pomfrey barged in.
“Dumbledore, now you listen and you listen good.” She said, eyes ablaze.
She explained how the boys had acted in the infirmary and said she was sure they belonged together.
When the headmaster shook his head in dismissal, she fumed.
“ I am telling you there is more to this, than we know about.” Madam Pomfrey said clearly exasperated.
She couldn't believe the reluctance the headmaster was showing.
“They are meant for each other. Don't you think it is just the least bit odd they form a friendship on this day of all days?”
“Now now, Poppy. Let's not jump to conclusions here, shall we?” Professor Dumbledore asked in, what was meant to be, a reasonable tone.
This did not sit well with Madam Pomfrey at all.
“Don't give me that, you old goat. You know it and I know it. The Elven Laws be damned!” Poppy Pomfrey cursed.
It shocked the other person in the headmaster's office to hear Poppy curse.
She was the most levelheaded person they knew and she never swore.
“Poppy, please calm down.” Minerva McGonagall said sternly.
The Transfigurations Professor was not pleased by the tone the medi-witch used to address her lifelong partner.
“Calm down? Are you condoning this?” Madam Pomfrey asked incredulously
One look at the face of the Transfigurations Professor told her all she needed to know and it was the last straw.
Poppy was going to help those two young men, if it was the last thing she'd do.
She left the headmaster's office in a huff, muttering about old fools meddling in other people's lives.
Professor Dumbledore looked amused as she left.
“Albus? Do you think she is right?” McGonagall asked a bit worriedly.
He looked pensive and said he didn't know, but that he wasn't about to cross the High Council of the Ilde Elvere.
He wasn't prepared to have yet another war on his hands.
Especially a war they were certain to lose.
He rose from his chair behind his desk and threw some floo powder in the flames of his fireplace.
When they turned green he called out to Severus Snape.
“Severus, if you are not busy, would you come through for a moment? I need some advice on a delicate matter and I am afraid it can't wait”, he said into the flames.
