All eyes on me
Light filtered through the drapes striking the solace from the darkness that offered peace and serenity to his sleep. It had been one of the few dreamless sleeps he had had since the second incident.
He would get up and face this day like any other. Refusing to let it get to him. So he got dressed, gathered his things and went down into the great hall for breakfast.
Just like any other day.
But unlike any other day this was not going to be normal. At least not for him. And he had no idea.
You see, a witch unlike any other had spent the last week plotting, and plotting was what she loved. But more than that she had some unlikely accomplices with a plan to help further the distracting of one Blond seeker. This was the part where she needed a distraction to help her switch places with Delilah. The girls bathroom.
Home to one of the biggest gossip the ghosts of Hogwarts has ever known.
And so it all began with a little eve’s dropping.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Myrtle was hiding in her favorite toilet swirling about the pipes when she heard a girl giggling talking to herself in the mirror.
Now hearing the girl was a trick because, well, not all people have very loud conversations with themselves. And while she wanted to hear the girls conversation with herself, she didn’t want it known. The only other way she felt she might get close enough was by sneaking into the faucet at the sink the girl was at. Nothing like a front row seat.
It only took a few seconds floating through the floor, up the wall, and then inserting herself snugly into the tap. This was the only thing she heard.
“All the girls in Hogwarts paying extra attention to Draco for one whole day. And then ignore him the next . I wonder what could come of that.”
After that she heard steps as the girl walk away, out the door, and into the hall.
She thought for a moment. Wondering what that was about. All the girls paying special attention to Draco. That was not really new news, all the girls already do pay special attention to him. They all thought he was some sort of catch. All handsome and sweet talking. All falling for him like leaves in autumn and he picks one and then he ditches them. What a vicious cycle. But it still bothered her. So she did what gossipers know how to do best.
She talked to the other ghosts.
Her first quarry was Peeves cause all the ghost know if you want to know something he would know. But he didn’t know, so he asked Nearly headless Nick, who asked the Bloody Baron, who asked the other ghosts. Who of course didn’t know anything either.
And they asked the portraits who in turn talked to each other. And that was when the girls of Hogwarts learned of a plan that they had been apart of and didn’t even know it. Soon it became a plan that someone’s friend heard from their sister who heard it from a Ravenclaw, who heard it from a Gryffindor.
It was at about this time when Draco was walking out of the Slytherin dorms that Plan Distract Draco came into play.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At first it began with looks. Which Draco was very used to by now. At times they were lust filled, and other hostile. But today they held no malice. None of them. It was slightly uncomfortable. But then while he was adjusting his tie Padma walked up to him, said that he looked like he needed some help, and then proceeded to fix it for him. Well, the voice inside told him something was up.
Entering the great hall had been something else all together. As soon he stepped a foot in the door all the girls heads turned to his direction. Which was then followed by the boys who were curious to see what would unanimously divert them like that. Needless to say Draco got some unfriendly looks as well.
Do you know how hard it is to think when you have every girl you know and don’t know staring at you? Making doe eyes and waving. Openly staring at you while they whisper to each other.
It was down right unnerving.
Not to mention every girl in school saying hello to you when they pass you in the hall. Even girls who were hanging on the arms of other boys who were no doubt their boyfriends. This earned him some unkind looks as well.
Now it is one thing to face off one on one with another guy, but when you have the entire male populace staring daggers at you while the entire female populace has dirty clearly written in their eyes can put a person on edge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He however really was not paying attention at all because had he been paying close attention he would have noticed that one witch in particular was not present. She was off preparing for Part 2 of Plan Distract Draco.
Which she could now implement while he wasn’t paying attention.
This part had taken a little longer to formulate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When she had impersonated Pansy she had gotten a taste of something forbidden to her. It left her scarred now. She burned with his remembered touches.
Wanted them back.
Wanted them to be on her skin.
Wanted him to want her.
Wanted to be wanted.
Wanted blood not to matter.
Rolling her eyes and chuckling to herself she knew this would never happen.
She wondered what kind of girls he normally went for. She wondered if maybe she could get him to come to her somehow. That maybe when he wasn’t so on edge she could impersonate yet another unwilling participant in her little exploits. This time though she wanted it to be different. She wanted to know what it felt like to be pursued by Draco.
The problem with this plan was first she would have to be absent most of the time. And whomever she chose would have to be able to manipulate enough to be out of the way for a while. She knew that all she had to do was put said person in a closet somewhere while they had a petrificus totalus or some kind of sleeping charm on them until she was ready to let them go and then when she was finished she would administer a memory charm on them.
Desperate times called for desperate measures and she was at the point where the means outweigh the cost of such an endeavor.
Then she would tell the headmistress that she had a family emergency she had to attend to. McGonagall trusted her so inexplicably that she did not need to confirm her story with her parents. That would have her own self out of the way so that she could pursue her selfish endeavors without something else taking her time away from the task at hand.
Her task: Operation distract Draco.
The question came when she wondered who she would use. Lavender was now out of the question, and so was Pavarti. Simply because she knew they both prattled on a lot and she didn’t think she could handle that.
She couldn’t use Pansy again because he simply knew her too well. She did know she wanted to use someone in Slytherin. That way she could be close to him.
She wanted to be in the snake pit.
The only problem she could see with that was finding out information about the person she chose.
This process did not take as long as she thought it would. In the first week she noticed a girl that no one else talked to. She was slender but curvaceous. A little tan dark brown hair that fell past her shoulders. Dark honey eyes lined by thick lashes. Her features were close to her own which she also favored. If Draco recognized any of her own traits he would associate it with her and then she hoped that he thought of her. She only hoped that the thought would be a positive one. Though she doubted it.
She was also slightly shorter than Draco, which she liked. If she was going to be leaving an impression she wanted to be able to look him in the eye without towering over him.
The girl in questions name was Delilah Daniels. Her Parents were not affiliated with Voldemort, and that is why no one really talked to her. Ostracized by non affiliation.
It was almost too easy. The hard part would be gaining his interest, and maintaining character. She could not do Hermione things.
Absolutely no raising a hand in class. Average homework skills. And she must show a dislike for other houses.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the night before her departure she had already told the head mistress that she would be departing in the morning she would walk outside the gates and aparate to her bedroom in her parents house. Where they would be waiting for her to arrive.
She had a special potion ready to consume as soon as the real Delilah could be disposed of. She had also borrowed Harry’s Map to find out what the current password was for the Slytherin common room, and where Delilah slept. It would not be good for her to not know these things.
She had spent a couple days watching the girl. Studying her habits, finding out what classes she had and where she sat in said classroom. She was pleased to find out that most of her classes were with Draco. That meant the girl was actually smart. So homework could still be done above average. Although not quite Hermione like. Wouldn’t want the teachers to get suspicious.
Now it was early. It was time for her to go. She hoped that everything would work out as planned. She was on her way out the door, but before she left she went into the bathroom. Casting a double charm on herself she told the double to walk out of the school grounds. Where she would end the charm. And the double would disappear as though she had just apperated.
When that was finished she took the potion that would change her appearance into the girl in question. It was the same she had used when she took the form of Pansy.
She then changed into clothes she had stolen out of a the locker of a female player during a quiddich match. Making her way to the Slytherin common room.
When she got there she said the correct password and was admitted. She then made her way to the girls dorm. Surrounded by the sounds of sleeping bodies. When she was next the girls bed she cast her charm. Now to move the body to the special room she had created in the room of requirement. The only thing she could think of using was a levitation charm.
After casting the Levicorpus she made her way down the hall before she went back into the main castle she pulled out the borrowed invisibility cloak and put it over the sleeping girl.
She was on edge the whole way. Once she had placed the girl on the bed in the room. It was time for a distraction so Draco wouldn’t be overly suspicious about why Delilah was going to be hitting on him.
This is the part where she drank the potion and entered into the girls bathroom. Where Moaning Myrtle lay in wait.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking down the the great hall for breakfast she was surprised that Myrtle sure knew how to spread the word.
When she entered it was obvious her plan was working. For every girl was looking unashamedly at Draco while he ate.
This was a now or never moment. She walked gracefully towards the slytherin table to where the girl normally sat. She deliberately walked past Draco.
“Good morning, Draco.”
When he looked up to see who was saying hello his expression was almost quizzical. He looked caught in the spot light. In fact he was wondering why she said hello to him. Delilah had never said hello before this day. But he mumbled a greeting anyway to which she smiled and winked.
As she walked further down the table to her normal seat he smelled a perfume that seemed familiar. He was then reminded of the incident in the woods. He leaned back to watch her walk away.
When she reached her seat she turned around to see him watching her. She lifted one leg and put it under the table, then she sat down and lifted the other leg letting her skirt ride dangerously high up her thighs. Biting her lip she pulled the skirt down all the while staring straight into his.
When he turned to face his plate once again. Taking a bite he looked only to see every girl was still staring at him.
“What the hell is going on today. Why are they ALL looking at me?”
“Who knows Draco,” Blaise shrugged. “Women are a different species sometimes.”
“No kidding. I mean I know I’m handsome but ….” He gestured to the rest of the room. “This is just weird.”
“Seriously Draco. This just confirms my thoughts on how women are of a different species.”
“Totally.”
He then made a move to get up but stopped midway when he heard the sound of many others getting up aswell. What he saw made him sit down, eyes wide.
For every girl was also getting up, but when he sat down so did they. He leaned forward put his face in his hands.
How painfully he was unaware of how long this day was really going to be. He didn’t hear the soft chuckle come from down the table of the only girl who didn’t move. He couldn’t see the smile hidden behind her goblet of pumpkin juice.
This was going to be fun.
No, this was in no way what so ever going to be just another normal day for a certain Slytherin Seeker.
He would get up and face this day like any other. Refusing to let it get to him. So he got dressed, gathered his things and went down into the great hall for breakfast.
