Snags and Steak Pie
Hermione pulled on a pair of jeans and a loose shirt. Looking over at Barty she smiled, he was laying back on the pillows, his hands behind his head and the duvet low on his hips. She meandered over to him and kissed his lips. “I’m going to see what Binky’s planning for dinner, make a cup of tea. Want anything?”
“Yeah,” he smiled, pulling her down to lay on top of him and pressing his lips to hers. She pressed herself up on her hands and looked down at him.
“Is that all?” She asked, a twinkle in her eyes.
“For now,” He grinned, releasing her reluctantly.
She climbed off him and left the bedroom, smiling at him as she turned down the corridor. She padded down the corridors to the kitchen. As she approached she heard the sound of Binky singing at the top of her lungs. Something about olaf the ogar who had an affection for Victoria sponge cake. She almost laughed but stopped herself as she walked into the warm kitchen.
“Something smells lovely, what’s cooking?” Hermione asked, walking to the argar lifting off the teapot, still hot from the fire.
“Steak pie, to be served with potatoes and carrots, Mistress.” Binky said, holding up the cloak she was darning to the light, checking her work.
“Sounds great, what did Barty do this time?” She asked the question in an offhand manner, though anyone looking at her face would see her concern. She didn’t like that there was still a dark element to the magic world and what she didn’t like even more was the fact that her husband was one of its favourite targets. To be fair so was she and everyone close to her but she was out of the line of fire whereas Barty tended to jump out right into its path.
“Master tells Binky he snagged it on a bush.” Binky replied.
“What do you think Binky?” Hermione placed a cup down beside the house elf who jumped at the realisation that her mistress had been making something herself. Hermione had ceased asking Binky if she would like a cup, she would find she was forced into a chair and made to watch as Binky did it herself.
“I…” Binky looked at the cloak and back at Hermione. She had never grasped calling Hermione by her name so Hermione had let it slip. Binky felt she was telling tales if she said anything about the family even to a member of that family.
“Yes?” Hermione urged patiently.
“It is too clean to be a snag Mistress.” And that was all she would say on that matter. Hermione knew better than to try and coax more from her.
Hermione sat contemplating the flames of the fire for a while, internally counting down to the time her daughter came back. She knew she was safe, it wasn’t a question of that. It was more to do with the stirrings that had occurred in recent months. There was talk of the dark wizards and witches finding a new leader. They were organising themselves again and that wasn’t good for anyone.
Authors Note; Hi guys, thought i'd do a sequel, hope your all liking it! It's gonna take off soon, promise ;-) Please R&R, wanna know what you think!
