A Meeting

Warnings: Implied Voldemort/Snape slash

Inside the topmost tower of the Dark Lord's Evil Castle, a rat-like man tied a letter to an owl's leg. Once finished, Wormtail pitched the bird out the window. (This very bird had tried to eat him while he was in his animagus form, so he didn't like it.) The animal tumbled from the sky for a bit, before regaining its balance. It then flew towards Scotland, to Harry Potter.

"Oh dear," Wormtail muttered, thoughts of Voldemort's latest correspondence running though his mind. His associate would want to know about this change in events. They weren't going to be happy about this, he thought as he transfigured a piece of parchment. He had a letter to write.

Gingerly, Severus Snape shifted in his seat. His bum felt tender. He crossed his legs, winced, then uncrossed them.

"Honestly, Severus, can you not stay still for more than a few moments?" Minerva primly chided.

"Forgive me," h replied sarcastically. Severus gritted his teeth. At this rate, he wouldn't last though the morning's meeting. He yawned, using his teacup to hide it.

"Did you have a rough night, my boy?" Albus asked.

"You can say that," Severus grunted, more to himself than to the others in the room. "As I've stated in my report, I have no new information."

"If you have no new information, then why did the meeting last so long?" Minerva asked. "Just what exactly happens at these meetings? You always return exhausted!"

"I assure you, you will find the details of these meeting to be somewhat disturbing." Severus thought back to last night. He would never look at a spatula in the same way ever again. If that were enough to disturb him, then surly it'd disturb the prim Transfigurations professor.

"Knowing Voldemort, these meetings must truly be disturbing. They leave you exhausted. Perhaps you should cease spying--"

"NO!" Snape shouted, panicked, before he came to his senses. While it was true that he didn't know how much longer his stamina could hold out, he didn't want to give up the best damn sex he's had in a decade. "I mean, I don't think that to be a wise idea, Headmaster. We all must make some sacrifices for the--er, uh, what do you Gryffindors call it?"

"The Greater Good of Humanity?" Minerva suggested.

"Yes, that's it. I'll continue spying for The Greater Good of Humanity."

"Well, if you insist," the Headmaster said, somewhat perplexed at Snape's sudden display of philanthropy.

"Very well. Perhaps--" Severus stopped mid-sentence. He grasped his arm. "He's calling me. I imagine that I'll be gone all day. Can you arrange for a substitute?" Severus didn't know if he should be worried or eager. A summons in the morning could only mean that the Dark Lord had very special plans for him. He wondered if those plans called for the spatula again....
