When she had first asked Milli what she thought about the people around her she had gotten this response… “What people?”
When she asked what she thought about the prospect of love, Milli had answered… “It does not concern me.”
When she had been unhappy, she had asked if Milli had any friends…Milli had not answered.
When she was happy, she had asked Milli to kiss her. She does not think it was a kiss; their lips had touched, but neither had closed their eyes nor opened their mouths.
When she had cried, she had asked if Milli ever thought of death… “I never have the time.” Was her only answer. Luna never thought of death after that…she simply never had the time.
When she had seen the letter, she had asked if her parents cared… “Don’t all parents care?” Milli had asked.
‘Don’t all parents care?’…No, not all parents cared. Her mother couldn’t, she was dead. Her father… her father was too lost in his own world to have enough energy to care.
“Have you ever been in love?” She had asked… Milli had laughed.
When she had seen Hermione talking to Milli, she had not known what to say. Her chest hurt…her head spun.
“Are we friends?” Desperation was in her voice. Millicent answered by pressing her mouth to hers, in a kiss-not-kiss.
“Will you ever leave me?” Tears drowned her.
“I cannot.” It was enough.
And again they were lost.
Lost in false happiness, in false hate, in false hope… lost in themselves.
The death of the pretty boy was when they awoke.
No longer trapped in their dizzied mind, they had known that everything would change.
The fear could be seen, yet no one uttered a word.
The echo of untold truths resounded throughout the world.
Author’s Note
Listening to “Talk Show Host” and “Try” put me in the mood to write. Hope it was alright.
