The Opening Feast
Author's Note
Sorry for taking so long. I was not in town so I couldn't type it up. Plus, I have been having severe writer's block still. Sorry. On with Chapter 2.
Chapter 2: The Opening Feast
At the opening feast Draco kept thinking 'why did I agree to a truce with her.'
Across the Great Hall Hermione was thinking about the same thing.
Sorting Hat sings his crazy song, then the sorting begins.
There are 12 new Griffindors, 9 new Hufflepuffs, 6 new Ravenclaws, and 11 new Slytherins.
"Welcome all new and old students. Remember, the Forbidden Forest is just that, forbidden. There is a list of all the forbidden items on Filch's door. Now, to introduce our Head Boy and Girl. Head Girl this year is Miss Hermione Granger (loud applause from the Griffindor table), for she has the highest marks in the school, and the Head Boy is the one with the second highest scores in the school, Draco Malfoy (applause from Slytherins). Now enjoy the feast."
Everyone enjoyed the food and telling each other how their summers went. Hermione wasn't paying attention though as she kept looking at Draco from across the hall.
'He really is kinda cute.'
Draco sat with his Crabbe, Goyle, Zabini, and Parkinson. He was eating his dinner, when he felt eyes upon him. He looked up to see none other than Granger staring at him.
'Why is she staring at me, I wonder? I guess I can confront her tonight in the Head Dorms.'
"Now, all prefects take your students to the dorms. Miss Granger and Master Malfoy, please stay so I can take you to your new dorms."
They went to the Head Dorms, where Dumbledore told them to try and get along with each other, and that the password was Fawkes.
"Well Hermione, why were you looking at me during dinner?"
"Well, I, I, I."
"Come out with it Hermione."
"Because I think you are gorgeous."
"Oh, well, I am. I am a Malfoy for crying out loud."
"Can you not see that I like you?"
"Wait, what? You like me."
"Yes, I hate it. I like someone that I cannot have. I am a muggleborn, your a pureblood. Your father would kill you if you ever did anything with me."
"Maybe we will have to see. I am going to go and floo my father. Will be back soon my beautiful one."
