Mission Complete
Author's Note: Thanks to those who reviewed! You make me smile. Anyways, here's the next chapter. It was meant to be longer but I just got back from babysitting and the gym so I'm really tired and have an in class essay to write first period tomorrow so I can't work on it any more. I really don't like to do short chapters unless there is no other choice. Since I am really tired and can barely keep my eyes opened, I didn't proofread this too well. I don't think there are any mistakes on there, but if there are I'm sorry. I just wanted to get this chapter out before I forgot.
Let the Bad Parts In
Chapter Two: Mission Complete
One week has passed by since that night with Draco and almost every night Hermione has woken up to her panting his name and her panties wet with the thought of him. He didn't mention anything about the offer she gave him. She would have thought that he ad forgotten about it if he didn't keep sending her glances every now and then and when he was sure no one was looking he would make obscene gestures to her with his mouth and fingers that made her squirm in her seat. This was not good, not good at all. She was not suppose to become attracted to him! It could ruin everything! Well, maybe it would be okay if it was just physical…she could deal with that….
But enough was enough! This had to be settled. If he wasn't going to help her then she had to find someone less that would.
It was Friday night, the day before their first Hogsmeade weekend. Currently it was two in the morning and Hermione was curled up on the plush dark navy blue couch in the common room waiting for Malfoy to come back from his rounds. Hopefully he would be unaccompanied. A half hour passed by and the painting guarding the door swung open. Hermione put her book down and sat up as Draco walked in. He walked right by her, tossing his wand and cloak on an empty chair then making his way towards the stair case.
"We need to talk Malfoy." She called to him. He turned around quickly at the sound of her voice.
"Christ mudblood! Do you always sneak up on people?" he spat, crossing his arms and glaring down at her.
"Stop avoiding the subject, ferret!" she said, walking around the sofa and leaning against the back of it with her arms folded against her chest, with a stubborn look on her face. She felt his eyes glance over her body and the butterflies started to flutter around in the pit of her stomach again. "It's been over a week!"
"What’s in it for you Granger?" he asked suddenly as he sat down on a desk.
Hermione rolled her eyes at him. "You know what I want Malfoy. I told you before."
"No, I mean, why do you want to join? What are you getting out of joining with Voldemort?"
She looked at him and saw he was honestly curious about why she wanted to join. "There are many reasons," she started. "Some of them make sense and others…well others don't even, make sense to me. It doesn't look good for this side anymore. Your wizards and witches have the advantages of spells and potions none of us would even dream of using! Voldemort isn't afraid to take chances and that’s how he always comes out with some sort of victory. And as much as I hate to admit it, with more resources with the Dark Arts, we don't even stand a chance in the end."
"What about-"
"Harry and Ron?" she finished for him. "They are…expendable. Once we graduate, even if the was doesn’t happen now, I know we'll all go our separate ways. Eventually the weekly letters turn into monthly ones then yearly then soon I would lucky to get a 'Happy Holidays' card." She sighed and gazed out the dark window. There was a long silence between the two of them.
"I have to do rounds again tomorrow," Draco said, breaking the silence. "So why don't you meet me down here at three then?" he said as he got up.
Hermione looked up surprised, but wouldn't let him get away without talking about his part of the deal. "What about your end of the deal?" she called to him as he walked away.
He stop mid-step and turned his head to look at her. "Don't worry your pretty little head about that Granger. Your time will come." He smirked and walked up the stairs.
She watched him disappear up the stairs and smirked to herself.
