Chapter 2
I know it's kind of slow at this point, but there will be more action soon enough, so please bare with me. Again, I apologize for the shortness of the chapter.
Harry Potter and all things within that wonderful world of his do not belong to me, have never belonged to me, nor will they ever.

Finally the day had arrived for him to leave Hogwarts. His students having been informed weeks before, and the replacement professor arriving this night. As expected, the Gryffindor’s were more then a little happy to see him go, and the Slytherin’s sorry to see their Head of House leaving. Rumors had flown through Hogwarts like wild fire, some saying that the stress had finally gotten to him; others hinting that he was leaving because the new Headmaster was ‘a bumbling idiot’. As much as he was amused by that last one, he kept his reasons to himself, for obvious reasons. Wouldn’t it throw the whole school into an uproar, if they knew he was going to rescue The Boy Everybody Forgot. Though by the time he left that night, there was a new rumor that was along those lines, which caused many students to burst into laughter at such an idea.
His scheduled meeting at Azkaban wasn’t for at least another couple of days, but he needed the time to set things in order for when he brought Harry back. The Snape family estate had not been occupied for a few years at the very least. The house elves had kept it in running order, but it still needed a few details taken care of. Mainly, to provide a safe and secure environment for the boy; for not even he knew what atrocities had befallen the boy since he had been unfairly imprisoned. He shuddered at the thought, for he had heard stories about the things that had happened in those walls, now that the Dementors had been sent away, and none of them pleasant.
A room was set up for Harry, cloths bought for him, and his old school things sent there as well. When word got out that Harry had been captured, Severus had quickly acted, collecting the boy’s personal items and hid them away. He had even managed to switch Hedwig for another owl before the Ministry had came around to collect and destroy her. Ultimately, he had sent her to an old contact of his, calling in another favor, to keep her there until the time was right. She was waiting for him when he had returned to his place, somehow knowing that she would be reunited with her wizard.
On the morning of the second day, Snape gathering the things he would need, and set out for Azkaban. The protective charms and spells surrounding the prison had slipped from what they once were, although the ones within had been strengthened greatly since the defection of the Dementors. Severus could feel the difference as he passed through the walls.
Patiently, he waited to be taken to the prisoner he had requested a meeting with, under the assumption that he was here on business. When they arrived at the cell, there were no others held in this section. For a moment Snape thought that he had been lead to the wrong place; but once they neared cell 713, he could see why. Inside the cell was what looked to be a pile of tattered rags. His stomach lurched at the smell, which was a hard thing to accomplish, and the pile of rags moved. Slowly ribbons of material fell away, and the creature within was revealed. It was a sickening sight, the boy looked as though they were starving him, which they probably were. His skin paled and loose around his bones, the once Quidditch lean muscles had been lost to inactivity. He looked nothing more then a living skeleton with skin, and eyes. His eyes were probably what would haunt Severus the most in his dreams for the rest of his life. Sunken with purple circles around them, the deep emerald green bold as it ever was, but there was no life to been seen in them. Hollow and lifeless, as though he had been Kissed by a Dementor; very much a broken spirit and shattered soul.
He gave a sharp nod to the guard that had accompanied him, and waited until they were alone. A moment passed, to make sure that nobody was listening, then he stepped closer to the cell, murmuring to the boy. “Listen closely Potter, if you want to get out of here.”
