Deadly Obsession

Chapter Three

Wednesday everyone seemed on-edge.In the Slytherin common room,Draco was worrying about Hermione tutoring him.How was he supposed to hide how much he liked her?Would he even be able to?He laughed silently to himself.Of course he could.He'd just have to remember what she was.She was a Mudblood,first off.And a know-it-all.And better yet she was friends with Potter and Weasley.He couldn't even see why he even likes her.He's just a sucker for good looks.That's all.Stupid hormones.

After Transfiguration Hermione and Draco stayed after class to start their tutoring.Draco was glad to see she wasn't too thrilled about it either.She sat down beside him grudgingly and pulled out a few things uncluding her wand,some parchment,a quill and her Transfiguration book.She then turned to Draco.

"Alright,let's get started."She then began to explain how important the wand movements are and concentration.But Draco wasn't listening.He was lost in his own thoughts.Hiding his attraction to her was gonna' prove harder than he'd anticipated.Hermione noticed he was staring off into space and began to get annoyed."Are you even listening?"

"Huh?Oh,yeah."He snapped out of his thoughts."I got it,concentration and wrist movements.See,I don't even need this tutoring."Hermione raised her eyebrows at him.

"Fine,then prove it."She pulled out a mirror."Just do like we did last year and change the colour of your eyebrows to black.That way you can tell if you did it right."She handed him the mirror.He looked into it,held out his wand,and said the spell.There was a puff of smoke and when it cleared Draco had no eyebrows.Hermione laughed at this.

"Okay,let's work on that."She said,imediately stopping her laughing when he glared at her."Here,I'll fix your eyebrows,"She took out her wand and flicked it.Without a word his eyebrows were back.

An hour later,they hadn't really accomplished much except Draco blowing off his only one of his eyebrows.Hermione wanted to give up,but she was getting extra credit which would look good on her records.She also felt really weird.Draco kept spacing out and was looking at her weird.But then again,every guy has been doing that to her lately.Well,except the two she'd wanted to.

Looking at the clock Hermione saw that it was nearly 5:00 p.m.She began to pack up her things.

"That's good enough for today.See you Monday,Malfoy.And next time,pay attention."She then picked up her bookbag and walked away.Draco was just about to pack up his things when he remembered she'd forgotten to get back his eyebrow.He would have done it himself,but he was inexperienced in this feild of magic.

"Get back here,Mudblood!"He shouted at Hermione as he stuck his head out the door,luckily no one else was out.She turned around and glared at him.

"Oh,well.When you ask so nicely,"She said,sarcastically but turned around and walked back to the classroom.

"You're not going anywhere until you get my eyebrow back."He told her.She snorted and with a flick of her wand his eyebrow was back in place.She turned back around and walked away without a word.

Hermione could feel him staring at her as she walked away.It felt akward to have Malfoy looking at her like that.She shuddered as she remembered the way he'd looked at her while she was tutoring him.Why did all the wrong guys have to act like that?Why not Ron or Harry?The onlt two guys in the whole world that she actually wanted to notice her didn't.They only thought of her as one of the guys.Anytime she even mentioned she was a girl Ron looked at her shocked.Guys sure knew how to hurt her feelings.

When she arrived in Gryffindor Tower,Ron and Harry were waiting for her to come down to dinner with them.Hermione plopped down on the couch,throwing her bookbag on Ron accidently.

"You won't believe how weird Malfoy was acting!"She told the two.

"Malfoy always acts weird,"Harry reminded her.

"I know,but he kept looking at me oddly,"Hermione scrunched up her nose remembering his stare.

"Why would he be looking at you oddly?"Ron asked,confused.

"Oh I don't know!"Hermione thought for a moment."Perhaps he fancies me?"Harry and Ron both burst out laughing."It's not that funny!"

"Yeah Hermione,Malfoy really fancies you."Harry said sarcastically.

"Malfoy's normally snogging with the girl girls.You're just not his type Hermione,so you've got nothing to worry about.Trust me."Ron reassured her.Tears began to well up in Hermione's eyes.

"So what?You think I'm not enough of a girl for Malfoy?"Hermione asked angrily,her temper rising.

"No offence,Mione,but you're really not.You're more the bookworm type.That's why Viktor Krum fancied you,'cause you were quiet and not girly."Harry told her.

"I bet you I could get Malfoy.I know how he was looking at me,I honestly think he fancies me."She told the two boys as they snorted at the thought.

"Alright Hermione,we'll take that bet.Prepare to lose."Harry told her as Ron nodded in agreement.

"And,if we win,you have to jinx Snape!"Ron proclaimed.Hermione smiled,she knew she'd win this bet.

"Alright,but,if I win,you both must let me give you a love potion from Fred and George's shop."The two boys looked at eachother and agreed.The three shook on it.

It was official.Hermione had until the end of the school year to get Malfoy to fall for her,no potions involved.And she had to make sure everyone knew that they were a couple.She wasn't too worried about it.She figured it would take her no time at all.She was gonna' win this bet.Just wait and see.
