Life Is Never What You Expect

I am so sorry this has taken me so long to update, I just wasn's sure where to take it. I am hoping that you all like this new chapter and still want to read more of it.

Chapter 3

Severus looked down at Harry and could see the fear in his eyes. He took a deep breath before he leaned a little closer. "Harry, Poppy is a great medi-witch and would never hurt you, and niether would I. Now i want you to hop up here on this bed and let her check you over then we will go and see the headmaster about what we should do with you now."

Poppy was a little stunned she had never seen Severus try and comfort someone so much except his own Slytherin house students. She watched as Harry try and get up on the bed but with his injuries all he did was whimper as he nearly fell. Severus stepped up and slowly lifted the child up onto the bed.

Harry whispered thank you to Severus as he was helped up onto the bed. He then looked over at the lady as she stepped up to him and pulled out a stick like Severus's. He cringed back as the stick drew nearer.

In a soothing voice, "it is alright I would never hurt you. This is my wand and I need to use it to check you and heal you. Is it all right I come closer now?" Poppy said as calmy as she could.

Harry looked over at Severus for aproval. When Severus slowly nodded his head, Harry look back over at Poppy and whispered ok. Poppy said a few words then slowly different parts of Harry's body started to glow different colors. Poppy gasped in shock a few times but Harry did not pay her much attention he never took his eyes off the man who had saved him.

Once all the colors faded Poppy started casting spells on Harry and collecting potions to give him. Once all the spells had been cast she turned to Severus. "Severus Harry needs to drink everyone of these potions and then get some sleep that is why I brought out a sleeping potion so he could sleep while the skelegro is doing what it needs to do and he will not have to feel the pain."

"Very well Poppy, I will make sure he takes everything. While I am doing that why don't you go and call Albus and get him down here I need to speek with him imediatly but I do not wish to leave Harry down here alone."

Poppy nods then turns and heads for her office. Severus turns to Harry. "We need to get you cleaned up, so why dont we head to bathroom and get u clean then I will transfigure you some sleepwear, then you can take your potions and get some sleep."

Harry nods and slowly climbs down off the bed and follows Severus to the bathroom. As Severus is getting Harry washed he becomes more and more angry at those filthy muggles who had h urt this child so.

"Sir, when you came to get me you told me you were a professor what do you teach sir?" Harry asks in a near whisper as Severus helps him get dressed and into bed.

Severus turns and looks down at the child sitting in the bed. "I am a potions master Harry and I teach potions here at Hogwarts." he hands Harry one of the three potions sitting on the table.

"What does this do and does that mean if I go here you will be my teacher?" Harry askes a little timidly but getting stonger as he is not yelled at for asking questions.

"It is a blood replenisher and yes Harry I will be your professor. Now lets see you drink all those potions down and you can get some good rest." Harry nods slowly and takes each one of the potions slowly cringing slightly at the taste of the potions. Severus smiles as he watches Harry take them. then he helps Harry get tucked into the bed under the covers.

"There now get some sleep. I will be right here when you wake up, I promise." He reaches out and brushes a few strands of hair out of Harry's face. Harry smiles shyly as he slowly drifts off to sleap. Severus sits down in the chair next to him and watches Harry sleep as he waits for the Headmaster to get there so they can talk.
