An Awkward Invitation
\"Potter, I\'d like to have a word with you,\"
Harry looked over his shoulder and saw Snape glaring at him. It had been a particularly hard lesson, but Harry was sure he did everything correctly. Hell, Harry hadn\'t even spoken in class. What would Snape want with him?
Harry bid goodbye to Ron and Hermione, and stood infront of Snape\'s desk.
\"Yes Professor?\" he asked, twiddling his thumbs.
\"Sit down, Mr. Potter.\" Snape mumbled, and a chair appeared beside Harry. He sat down rather quickly. \"Mr. Potter, do you know why I wish to speak to you?\"
\"N-no sir.\"
\"It has come to the staff\'s attention that you have been missing classes Mr. Potter. You have been missing meals as well, and it is quite obvious you have lost a lot of weight.\" Harry noticed something flicker across the man\'s face. Was it worry?
\"I-I\'ve been sick sir.\" Harry replied.
\"That is what many people think. But I know it isn\'t the truth. You haven\'t seen Madame Pomfrey at all. Isn\'t that who you would speak to if you are ill, Mr. Potter?\"
Crap. He was caught in his lies.
\"Y-yes sir.\"
\"It also appears that you have quit the Quidditch team. I would of thought that you would continue playing Quidditch, since it seemed to be so bloody important to you.\"
\"I lost interest.\" Harry tried to avoid Snape\'s gaze, but it seemed virtually impossible. He always felt his face involuntarily looking up. Snape stood and walked over to a cupboard.
\"I am not a fan of liars, Mr. Potter.\" Snape replied as he pulled out a vial from the basically empty cupboard, and placed it on the desk. Harry\'s eyes widened as Snape nodded to the Veritaserum. \"I do not feel like pouring that down your throat, nor do I feel like listening to you lie.\"
\"I-I\'m not lying sir!\" Harry squeaked as he gazed into those hard, black eyes. Snape growled.
\"Dinner is in two hours, Mr. Potter. I would like you to dine in my chambers with me at that time. We will then further discuss your bad tendancy to lie straight to my face!\"
Harry squeaked again as Snape pointed to the door. He got the message, and quickly gathered his things and rushed out of the classroom. As he did, he felt a small tickle behind his neck that seemed to have spread down to his legs, but he supposed it was just nerves. He then ran to the Great Hall, which was quite empty. He grabbed a seat at the Gryffindor table, and let his head drop. He definatly didn\'t like the fact that Snape wanted him to go to his chambers and eat.
\"I won\'t go!\" Harry whispered to himself, heaving himself up and running to the common room. \"I won\'t go!\"

\"Ah, Mr. Potter. It\'s good to see that you are at least on time.\" Snape smiled as he watched the boy involuntarily enter the room. Before Snape had allowed Harry to leave, he muttered a simple spell that would ensure Snape that the boy would be at his chambers at six o\'clock sharp.
\"Hello sir.\" Harry mumbled, dragging his feet across the dungeon floor. Harry looked up and suddenly realized he was in Snape\'s chambers. It was nothing like he expected. Thinking that the room would be dedicated to glorifying Slytherin, Harry was surprised to see the warm red and bronzes that filled the room. It was definatly un-Snape-ish.
\"Take a seat, Mr. Potter.\" Snape pointed to what seemed to be a kitchen, and Harry sat at the dining table. Harry heard a loud crack!, and saw a house elf bringing in what looked like soup. It was placed on the table, along with some water and tea.
\"Is there anything else you would like Blinkers to do, sir?\" the house elf squeaked. Snape shook his head.
\"No thank you. I shall call on you when we are ready for the main course,\" Snape said calmly, and Blinkers bowed his large head and disappeared with another loud crack!. \"Now Mr. Potter, would you like some tea?\"
Harry sat in the chair, completly dumbstruck. He quickly shook his head, and saw Snape chuckle a bit.
\"I did not put Veritaserum in it, if that is what you are afraid of. Here, look.\" Snape then poured himself a cup and drank a bit of it. \"Now, ask me a question.\"
\"What\'s your name?\" Harry squeaked, noticing his voice had gone up three octaves.
\"Albus Dumbledore.\" Harry let out a deep breath, and nodded.
\"Yes sir, I would like some tea.\" Snape poured the boy a cup of tea, and slided it over to the boy. Snape began to eat his soup, and noticed the boy was merely staring at his.
\"I did not poison it, Mr. Potter.\"
\"I trust you on that, sir.\"
\"Then why aren\'t you eating?\"
\"Not hungry sir.\" Harry stated, as he stirred the soup. Snape rose an eyebrow. He had to admit, he was somewhat worried about the boy. He had lost a lot of weight over the year, so much weight that his robes were fairly baggy on him. His once rosy face was a sickly white, and the boy\'s eyes didn\'t sparkle. Snape shook his head. Did he just say that the boy\'s eyes didn\'t sparkle?!
\"Mr. Potter - \"
\"Sir, I don\'t wish to be rude but I really am alright. I just haven\'t had much of an appetite lately.\"
\"Lately as in for the last three months?\" Snape saw how the boy quickly dropped his gaze to his hands. Shaking his head, Snape muttered under his breath. He heard Harry gasp a bit, as he pushed into the boy\'s mind.
Harry lay on the ground of what looked like a bar, with alcohol splattered on his face. He quickly got up and laughed as the bartender helped him to his feet. Harry then walked over to a dark corner where there were a few men sitting there, smoking. Harry joined in with them, sliding over some galleons -
Snape felt himself being pushed out, and gasped for breath. He saw the boy was on the ground, shaking. Harry then looked up and glared at him angrily.
\"Thanks for mind raping me, sir.\" Harry spat as he got up onto his feet. Snape stood up and grabbed the boy by his collar.
\"If I didn\'t know better, Potter, I think I\'ve just figured out where you go when you are supposed to be in class!\" Snape remarked, pushing the boy into a wall.
\"Why the hell does everyone care so much?\" Harry cried, as he pushed himself out of Snape\'s grip. Snape watched as the boy stormed to the door and slammed it shut, leaving Snape to stand in the middle of an empty kitchen. He swore loudly and threw powder into his fireplace.
\"Albus!\"
Snape saw Dumbledore in his office, obviously sucking on some lemon drops. Snape did not question on why the man was not down at dinner. He was too upset to worry about it.
\"Severus! Why, what is the matter?\"
\"I think I\'ve just figured out what is wrong with Potter.\"
