Platform 9 3/4

Ch 3 platform 9 ¾

Draco stood off to the side of the platform as everyone else entered. Not particularly wanting to be there alone any longer than he absolutely had to be. When Pansy and Blaise came through the barrier he purposefully strode over to them and smirked. “About time you two, what was taking you so long?”
They both began to blush slightly, “Well, we kind of got held up slightly.” But seeing the light in Draco’s eyes she smiled. “Sorry we left you alone for so long, Drac.”
“Yea, sorry.” Blaise piped in as they began to board the train.
Blaise and Pansy took one bench so they could sit next to each other and hold hands while Draco took his seat by the window and looked out on the platform watching all of the other students. By the time he looked up again the other two occupants of the compartment were doing some severe necking and he just smiled slightly and looked back out at the forming crowd.
That’s when he noticed them. A group of kids that Draco didn’t recognize, which was odd seeing as they had to be about his age, but looking from face to face he didn’t see one that he felt seemed even vaguely familiar. Only one of them wasn’t facing him, but if he didn’t recognize any of the rest of them he didn’t hold out hope to know this one. Continuing to study the group however Draco began to wonder if maybe one of these could be his mate, if one of these strangers could be his intended. He took in all of the strange clothes that the group was wearing, mostly black but with some article of bright color on somewhere.

As he watched the group interact he realized that only one of them was leaving. This wasn’t hard to figure out seeing as there was only one trunk, and the other four seemed to all be hugging the other and patting him on the shoulder. With a last set of hugs and some waved goodbyes the lone figure turned and strode to the end of the train hair falling over his face due to the slight bow of his head.
Draco shook his head slightly and looked back at the two across from him. “Oiy!” he exclaimed loudly kicking the seat just to the right of the snogging couple. “There is someone else here you know!”
Pansy and Blaise both turned slightly breaking the kiss, smiling Blaise smirked, “You know if you wanted to join in all you had to do was say so, you are pretty hot Drac.” And with that Draco let out an exasperated sigh and left the compartment muttering about head boy duties and that not being what he meant.
Draco strolled down the train, breaking up fights, taking away some points here or there. Towards the middle of the train he unintentionally began to pick up speed, and started to ignore everything around him. It was as though something was drawing him, pulling at him to get him to the back of the train. The pull seemed to be getting stronger, the closer he got to the end of the train Draco was almost in a dead on run. Outside the last compartment, Draco froze and took a deep breath. ‘That smell.’ Another deep inhale. ‘That’s my mate! My bonded!! Vanilla and rain!!’ Draco took another deep breath and placed his hand on the compartment door opening it in a slow controlled movement, anxious to who was inside.
As the door slid open the scent became stronger, almost overpowering and Draco closed his eyes briefly. Opening them again he observed and single figure in the compartment and smirked to himself, ‘this will be easy, they are already alone for the first contact.’ The slight figure before him sat on the floor between the two benches in the compartment, presumably to get better light from the window on the notebook propped up on his knee. With his head bent black fringe fell in and around his face so that it was mostly blocked from view as he worked. Draco entered the compartment seemingly unnoticed by its lone occupant, and stood for a few minutes merely observing his intended. He was right handed; shaggy shoulder length black hair that fell in a very sexy just shagged sort of way around his face; slim, lithe build, toned, but not too muscled, almost feminine; and even though the other boy was sitting on the floor Draco could tell he would have at least 4 inches on this boy (something which made him smile widely to himself). He watched seemingly mesmerized as the boys delicate fingers on his left hand played absentmindedly with a charm hanging around his neck. Finally Draco decided he needed to have the attention of his intended before he was completely over taken by the scent filling the room and went totally out of his mind, so he cleared his throat.
The boys head went up slowly and his hair fell away from his face a little, revealing a lightning bolt scar on his forehead, not red anymore like he had seen it so many times before but silver and faded. The boy’s slightly wide, vivid green eyes looked up at Draco in confusion.
“Malfoy? What do you want?” he asked quietly before turning back to his notebook causing his hair to resume its curtain in front of his face. It took Draco several seconds to gather himself, ‘My intended is Potter!! What the hell! Shit, this is going to be harder then I thought.’ Draco sighed inwardly suddenly melancholy, but to Harry he said, “Potter, I want to know what you are doing.”
Harry looked up at Draco with a blank look on his face, “What I’m doing? I’m not doing anything that concerns you or hurts anyone else. Thus I see no reason for you to be curious or me to tell you. Now if you would kindly leave so I can get back to work that would be great. Thanks” Harry turned back to his notebook again not waiting for a response.
Draco considered for a long minute before commenting, “I am head boy, Potter. I can be curious about anything I please. But I have other business to attend to so I’ll let your attitude slide this time.” And with that he gazed longingly at the other boy for a last long moment before leaving the compartment and running back to the one he shared with Pansy and Blaise.
Throwing the compartment door open, looking slightly winded and a little freaked out, “Hey guys, I have a problem.” and entered closing the door and began relaying what had just happened. Draco needed advice and he needed it now. And if there were two people in the world that could help Draco Malfoy wannabe death eater spy for the light befriend and seduce an unknowing and outcast Harry Potter savior of the wizarding world it was his two best friends. The three spent the rest of the train ride plotting eagerly, they weren’t slytherins for nothing.
