The Orb has spoken

The Orb of Fate by SnapesAngel

Disclaimer: As everyone should know I do not own any of these characters, they belong to J.K Rowling. (Unless I see fit to add some from my imagination, but honestly, if Rowling would want to use them I wouldn’t be complaining) Please don’t sue me considering I don’t have anything worth having.

Katie K: Thank you. I did think that Fenix looked bad but my computer accepted it and so did I. Big mistake. I have changed it now in my story but I can’t change it when it’s already published right? As I said before I do appreciate when you comment on the grammar and actually I’m really proud of myself that it doesn’t seem to be more mistakes in there. When I write I don’t see them.
And yes of course I love making you curious. That’s the fun of it. Not giving the plot away on a silver platter but instead letting you work a little for it. In other words to keep reading. I just hope my twist is appreciated…

eve/roarke: Actually you are wrong in you’re guess. He didn’t find the Orb… I don’t know how much I’m willing to let on but I can say that a lot of people know about this orb. It is a tricky thing that, but keep reading and I think you will understand more. Yes the Letter... this chapter will include the reading of that letter. And thank you for the correction. That I’ve only read the books in Swedish are my weak defence *lol*. I won’t write Phoenix with an F in the future.

Eci_Frog: Of course you get more when you ask so nicely, here it is *smile*

Krystal925: I’m impressed. You’re absolutely right! The Letter is from Bill, at least sort of from him. He wrote it. Of course I wouldn’t have revealed it if it wasn’t in this chapter. I like the way you’re mind works.

And a big hug to all of you, for taking the time to write reviews. You don’t know how much it means to me.

This chapter was really a tricky one. The letter was very hard to write and I hope you think it turned out okay. Is anyone else noticing that all this stuff before is actually starting to be longer than the chapters? *clears her throat* It really isn’t my intention I just love writing this nonsense. And I don’t have a clue if there is news eight o’clock in the evening but it fitted my story so it’s in there.
If there’s something particularly well written or funny feel free to tell me so by reviewing ;)

Chapter description: Vernon reads the letter and Harry gets his own.

Aunt Marge left the following day claiming that she would personally write to the Prime Minister about killing every owl in Britain. But Harry wasn’t concerned about that; all he wanted to know was what the letter said. Why had his uncle received an owl? He hadn’t done any magic so it couldn’t be about that, could it? The thought of going against the Wizengamot again wasn’t something that thrilled him, even if the new Minister of Magic were better than Fudge.

If his uncle already read the letter he didn’t show it, nothing was said about it the entire day. Not until Harry couldn’t control himself and blurted out the question in the middle of the eight o’clock news. “What did the letter say?”

“Go to your room.”

“There’s only going to be more owls if you don’t read it.” Harry said hoping that it would work. He knew that both his uncle and aunt hated the owls as much as they hated magic.

Vernon seemed to consider this for a moment before he grunted and pulled the letter out of his pocket. He eyed it suspiciously, as if checking to make sure it wasn\'t really a ticking time bomb. When he opened the envelope to read the letter a small piece of paper landed on the floor. Harry quickly grabbed it. There were just a few words on the little piece of parchment.

Harry,
I’m so sorry.
/Bill

A huge knot in the pit of his stomach started to well up. What was this all about? What was Bill sorry for? He looked at his uncle who had turned as pale as Nearly Headless Nick.

“What is this sick joke?” Vernon said clearly disgusted. Then he did something that Harry never expected. He actually gave the letter directly to Harry obviously expecting some kind of answer to his question.

Dear Mr and Mrs Dursley, the Legal Guardians of Mr Harry Potter,

The Orb has spoken about Mr Harry Potter’s fate. It has informed us that Mr Harry Potter, soon to be seventh year Gryffindor student at Hogwarts School for witchcraft and wizardry and Mr Severus Snape, Professor at Hogwarts School for witchcraft and wizardry, will form a union on the 31st of July.
We trust that you, as legal guardians of Mr Potter, will arrange for the proper preparations.

The Keeper of The Orb

The world around him seemed to go in slow motion. It was Bill’s handwriting. But why would he send him a letter saying such horrible unimaginable things? And what did the ancient looking scribbles mean at the end of the letter?

“The Orb of… what does this mean?” His uncle demanded to know but Harry couldn’t answer. Instead he shook his head. Clearly this was all a joke. Maybe Fred and George had put their big brother up to it and Bill said that he was sorry for that. Yes of course- that’s it.

“I know him, it’s just a joke I think…”

Vernon looked relieved but a second later another owl swept through the open window, dropped a letter on Harry’s head, and quickly flew off again.

“You said there wasn’t going to be more owls.” Vernon said accusingly. Harry ignored him completely and ripped the letter open.

Dear Harry,

I have been informed about your situation. Please stay where you are. As I am writing this letter, we are securing a transport for you. It is very important that you do not leave the house before we come and get you. You know why. Pack your things. When we meet we will discuss the situation in more detail.

The letter was signed by Dumbledore.
