Chance
Chapter 2: Chance
Despite being late for the first time ever, Hermione Granger clamoured upon the Hogwarts express with minutes to spare. She immediately found her friends in compartment 14A.
She gave everyone in the compartment hugs and kisses, even though she had seen them all less than six weeks prior.
The final battle had taken place earlier in the school holidays and to everyone’s surprise it was not Harry Potter who defeated, He-Who-Once-Was-Not-Named-But-Since-He’s-Dead-Now-He’s-Not-Worth-Mentioning, it was a combination of Dumbledore, Hermiand and Snape. Which had come as a shock to everyone. For once the headlines didn’t scream about the ‘boy-who-lived-to-many-times-to-count’ they screamed about Dumbledore and Snape in their triumphant plan of defeat. Hermione was mentioned as being one of the virgin sacrifices, which, strangely enough, was true. The plan was for Snapeoffeoffer Hermione and Harry to Voldemort as a sacrifice, but take him by surprise. The plan hadn’t gone exactly as it was meant to as Harry was knocked unconscious, but due to Hermione’s brave seductive effort to stop him killing her, They had enough time to kill him.
But it sure was good to see the smiling faces of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Cho Chang and Marietta Edgecombe. Hermione dumped her robes above Harry’s head and went to sit down, but then Harry reminded her.
“Herm, don’t you have to go to that head girls thingy, the meeting.” Harry said.
“Oh gods! Yes thanks Harry”
Hermione bolted down the hall in jeans and a tank top trying to get to the head people cart.
She skidded and to her surprise it wasn’t Draco Malfoy sitting in the Head boy Position it was Blaise Zambini, who to her knowledge was not as bad as Draco, but still a smarmy bastard.
“Miss Granger, nice of you to join us” Professor Snape said icily.
“Y-you,” She puffed “I thought P-professor Mc-Mc-McGonagall did this” She said her chest heaving.
“Well usually that would be the case, but unfortunately she is ill. So it is my displeasure to have to do this” he spoke with pure malice.
“Sit” he said in that Snape like manner and Hermione reluctantly did so.
“Now I'm here to brief you as your duties as head boy and head girl. You will be under serious watch for the first week of school, so should you show any disruptive qualities you will be stripped of your powers” He grinned evilly at Hermione “Your privileges are: you get you own room like your own common room shared by the two of you. You will have personal house elves to do things for you, should you need them. You will have your own specific bathroom, each. Your curfew will be 4AM owing to the fact that on specific occasions you will be required to do hall patrol. This duty entails patrolling the halls for any sight of frolicking students.
You will be given the privilege to assign detentions though they must be cleared with you head of house first.” He grinned maliciously at Blaise “You will also be allowed to visit Hogs-Mede whenever you wish, however that will also have to be cleared with your heads of house. You are allowed to appoint house points but no more than 50 points to each house in a month, to prevent favouritism, however if you want to award more, again appeal to your head of house. There are special charms placed on your room so if you want any muggle items such as radios, television sets, Video and or DVD players, alarms clocks etc. They will be in working order, should you choose transfigure them.
Your duties are simple, Uphold whatever you think is right. Any severe rule breaking such as more than 10 tardies, Being found doing rude violent or just downright disgusting acts will loose you your position. Do you understand?”
They both nodded in mute agreement
“Sign This,” he said handing them a piece of parchment reading.
“I hereby state by signing my name that I will use my position fairly and uphold all laws that the teacher has just laid out for me.”
Hermionened ned her name immediately Blaise was less enthusiastic.
“So no chicks?” He said, emitting a deep voice that Hermione could never remember hearing
“No, No getting caught with ‘chicks’” Snape said, Blaise signed “That goes for you too Miss Granger, I don’t know which one of your fellow Gryffindors your copulating with, but if you are caught…” he started, but then she cut him off “I assure you Professor, that as much as you may take great pride in walking in on me in a compromising position with someone, I assure you, I am ‘copulg’ wg’ with no one at this particular moment” she said, with as much dignity as she could muster.
Hermione noticed a distinct look cross Snapes face, was it shock? Was he shocked she wasn’t shagging Ron or Harry?
Hermione decided to go, she didn’t care about him at all.
