Chapter three: I Know Who You Are
Chapter three: I Know Who You Are
Amelia sat in her classroom preparing for her first class, the 6th years. She was a little nervous as this was her first time teaching. She looked at the open door waiting for her students to come in and sit themselves down. He heard footsteps and looked up to see a girl with big curly hair walk in to the class room and sit at the front table.
"Hi." Amelia smiled.
"Hello Professor Riddle." Hermione replied with a sly voice. Amelia withdrew from talking. She looked on to her desk at the picture of her and her mother when she was 11 years old. She loved her mother so much she couldn't believe that she was actually gone. Her mother was still quite young.
Amelia looked up and saw more students enter the room and sit themselves down at the tables. She saw one boy with the platinum blond tha that she had encountered on an older man. 'He looks just like his father' Amelia stared at him. 'Lucius.' She had once thought that she loved that boy's father. But she didn't, her heart lay with someone else.
"Hello everyone." Amelia greeted. The class looked up at her. She looked around at the students and saw the boy with the lightening bolt scar upon his forehead. She wished so much that 16 years ago that boy had defeated her father. Killed him off. Her father had taken away her mothers life. He has also taken away the boy's parents to. "Um I know that this isn't your type of thing but how about we don't do any work today?" Amelia asked the class. The class broke out in to happy muttered words. She received a glare from the girl that had walked into the class room early. Amelia looked away from the girl. "So it’s ok then?"
"Yes!" The class cheered.
"Good. Well for my help can you all tell me your names?" Amelia has a good memory, once something happened it was then embedded in her brain. "We will start from the back and then on to the next row, you know." Amelia walked to the back table and looked down at a podgy boy with black hair and crooked teeth. "We will start with you."
" Ne-Ne-Neville Longbottom." The boy stuttered. Amelia knew that this boy was very shy.
"Very nice to meet you Neville." Amelia put her hand into her pocket and pulled out a sweet. "Here." She gave it to Neville.
"Thank you." Neville took the sweet. Amelia looked at another boy that had musty brown hair and was quite short.
"And you?"
"Seamus Finnegan." The boy said with a Scottish accent.
"Here you go." Amelia gave him a sweet. Amelia moved on until she got to the platinum haired boy. "Hi." Amelia smiled. "Who are you?" The boy sat up straight.
"I am Draco Malfoy," he said with an air of bossiness.
"Very nice to meet you, Draco." Amelia gave him a sweet.
"It is nice to meet you." Draco smirked.
"Yes, I'm sure." Amelia laughed. He acted just like his father. She looked at the boy sitting to his left. "You?"
"Goyle." The boy mumbled.
"Do you not have a first name?" Amelia asked. The boy looked a little confused.
"It's Gregory." Draco butted in.
"Thank you Draco, again." Amelia gave the big boy a sweet. She walked to the next row of tables and came across to the boy with red hair sitting next to the boy with the lightening bolt scar. "Who are you my red headed boy?" Amelia asked. The class laughed and the boy turned a shade of red.
"Ron Weasley."
"Ron short for Ronald, yeah?" Amelia placed a sweet on the table in front of him.
"Yes." The boy nodded.
"Very good." Amelia smiled and then moved on to the boy that lived. "I know who you are." Amelia whispered. The boy looked at her. "But tell me who you are anyway." Amelia pulled out a sweet and put it out in front of him. "Who are you?"
"Harry Potter." The boy seemed a little confused.
"Nice to meet you, Harry." Amelia smiled and walked on to the girl with the bushy hair that didn't seem to like her. "And what about you?"
"Hermione Granger." The girl said quickly.
"Nice name. Here." Amelia put out a sweet.
"I don't want one thanks." Hermione pushed the sweet back to Amelia.
"Oh, ok." Amelia took the sweet. Amelia thought that there was something wrong with that girl. She was very testy. Amelia went though the whole class then sat down at her desk and gave them some free time till the end of the class.

Harry and Ron were talking to Hermione.
"Why are you like that to her?" Ron asked.
"Because Ron, she is his daughter. I don't know what Dumbledore was thinking taking her in as a student. You wouldn't know what she can do and I am not going to take a sweet from someone that is related to him," Hermione stated.
"Mione she's nice." Harry said.
"Harry she is the daughter of the thing that wants to kill you." Hermione hissed.
"Ok Mione you think what ever you like. You can't judge before you know her." Harry turned away and ate his sweet.

The bell rang signaling a small break time. Amelia sat at her desk and watched as the students left the room, but one. The boy with the platinum blond hair, who was called Draco, was walking towards her. Amelia looked at him as he stood at the front of her desk.
"Hello Draco."
"I know who you are," Draco blurted. Amelia's eyes widened.
"I'm sorry I do not understand."
"I know who you are. My father has told me all about you. His description has not faltered at all." Draco stared at her.
"Your… your father? Lucius?" Amelia wondered if he had known of their affair. "What did he say about me?"
"That you are the Dark Lord’s daughter, and that you were very beautiful." Draco replied. Amelia reddened.
"Well that's nice of him." Amelia stood up. She realized that she was quite a bit shorter then him. "And I would appreciate it if you would not spread rumors about who I am, please."
"Oh no. I would never do that." Draco grinned.
"Good."
"What is it like?"
"What is what like?" Amelia looked confused.
"Being his child?"
"Not as good as you might think it is." Amelia sighed.
"I never thought it would be good."
"Ok." Amelia shuffled around the papers on her desk.
"I don't like the thought of being a Death Eater." Draco said softly. Amelia looked up at him.
"You seemed so excited just before."
"It's all in the popularity thing. If I don't want to become a D.E then I'll be disgracing my father and I wouldn't be popular." Draco explained.
"Oh," Amelia nodded. "I do remember when I was in Slytherin. I was the one who didn't want to be a D.E." Amelia laughed. "It is a pointless act anyway. Why bother? When you become one your life is taken away from you. You can't live." Draco stared at the woman.
"But he is your father? Would you not do things for him?" Draco wondered.
"Quite frankly, no I wouldn't. He hurt my mother and there is nothing I want to do with him." Amelia sat down once again thinking that this gos going to be a long conversation. Draco looked a little puzzled. "Draco you do not have to follow your father's footsteps. Popularity isn't everything you know."
"Yes. But I don't know." Draco sighed.
"Taking over in your father's footsteps is not such a good idea if I know your father the way I do." Amelia just realized what she had said and hoped that Draco wouldn't make anything out of it.
"I don't like my father."
"Oh there we go. We seem to have something in common." Amelia chuckled"I g"I guess so."
"Draco, you do what you want, ok? Don't do it because of your father. It is your life and you need to live it." Amelia put a hand to Draco's arm.
"Ok. You know you're not that bad." Amelia smiled.
"Thank you Draco. You aren't that bad yourself." Amelia smiled back. "You better get to your next class. It is going to start in a few minutes."
"Right." Draco walked over to the class room door.
"Oh, and Draco?" Amelia called. Draco turned around and looked at her. "If you want to talk you may come to me. I know that we just met but I am here for the students." Amelia said kindly.
"Thank you very much professor. I shall take that up one day." Draco continued walking out of the classroom. Amelia sat down and sighed.
'That didn't go to bad.' Amelia though. She prepared herself for her next class. Severus walked in to her class room.
"How did the class go?" Severus asked.
"Oh it went fine. No problems at all." Amelia replied.
"What were you talking to Mr. Malfoy about?"
"He knows who I am."
"Hmm yes. You being the Dark Lords daughter or you being Dumbledore's granddaughter?"
"The first one." Amelia didn't like saying that she was Voldemort's daughter.
"What did he say?"
"He just wanted to know what I'm like I guess." Amelia shrugged. "I don't think he's going to tell everyone."
"I sincerely hope not." Severus rubbed his chin.
"What was that?" Amelia asked.
"Oh nothing." Severus shook his head. Even though it had only been about 4 days since Severus had meet Amelia as a professor, he had begun to think that he was beginning to take a fancy to her. He had no idea why. Maybe it was her tolerance and the way that she insisted that he talk to her. He had never had someone try and befriend him like she had. He remembered her when she was his students. She was always trying to get in trouble, always drawing pictures and writing notes. Most of them he had read himself, most of them being about him.
Severus knew that she had liked him. There was no way that he could see past that. There was one thing that he had noticed that was different with Amelia, other then her looking older. It was the way she acted. She wouldn't flirt as much as she had done when younger. She probably changed because of her age.
