The Marauders had a bad feeling about Malfoy following Jessica and so they
decided to follow him where he was going. They heard a girl’s scream and
quickened their pace until they were running, Peter starting to lag behind.
What they found made them madder than any of them thought they could be.
Malfoy had pushed Jessica up against the wall and was processing to kiss
her. She on the other hand was trying to reach her wand to curse
him.&n
Her wwas was too far away for her to reach and she could only fight him
physically by beating on him with her fist. The front of her robes were
tore showing her light blue t-shirt with the words “Dakota Springs” on
it. Malfoy hadn’t realized that they had company and so was completely
surprised when a spell sent him flying.
Jessica grabbed her wand and stumbled backwards toward the Marauders.
Malfoy’s eyes had turned red as he slowly advanced on the group causing James
and Sirius to step in beside her. “You’re a pureblood, Jessica. You
should be keeping up the family line. It is your duty.”
“You don’t much about the America Turners, do you? They are an ancient
family of America witch and wizards that have swore their lives to protect
Muggles. They have more honor than you could ever try to match.”
Jessica’s eyes lit up as she started to speak again, “You may hate Muggles, but
just imagine for one moment that you didn’t and you were about five. Your
best friend happened to be a muggle and you had promised to protect them with
everything you had.’
‘Then one day while the two of you were playing being watched by your family a
person dressed all in black cursing your family came at you with pointed
wand. Your family couldn’t move fast enough and you could do nothing as
the person dressed in black killed your best friend in front of your
eyes. I had that happen to me when I was just five years old. I’ll
remember that day to the day I die because that was the day that I got my first
taste of people’s hate toward my family.”

Tears were filling Jessica’s eyes and she couldn’t see as Malfoy laughed.
“Friendship between magic and muggle is just an illusion. What did
muggles ever do for you?” He raised his wand as he said this.
She felt elf elf being pushed up against the castle walls and a person cried
out in pain. Her eyes were still blurry from tears and she couldn’t make
out the shape holding her there. After a moment she realized it was Remus
with his face screwed up in pain. Looking past Remus she saw James and
Sirius hitting Malfoy with curses that Jessica had never even seen
before. “Remus?”
His eyes looked into hers for a moment and for that moment they forgot that the
others were even there. She led led against his neck as he wrapped his
arms around her pulling her closer to him. James and Sirius both let out
a healthy laugh causing them both to jump. “Jessie-gal, will you go out
with me?” She looked at him trying to decide what to do. Something
Dumbledore said before she left stuck out in her mind. Follow your
heart. Did he know this was going to happen?
“Yes.” James, Sirius, and Peter all let out a yell.
“You’ll regret that. Both of you.” Malfoy sneered before walking away.
It was the weekend and the first Hogsmeade weekend for the Hogwartz
students. It was going to be the first date for Remus and Jessica and
Jessica wasn’t sure really what to expect because she had never went on an
official date before. The Marauders though seemed quite excited and ready
to stock up on pranks for the school year. As they walked down the road
to Hogsmeade the Marauders explained about the village and it’s history.
Remus who had shared his secret about being a werewolf to Jessica showed her
the Shrieking Shack where he had to transform.
That was one of the things he told her right away because he didn’t want her to
date him if she was going to be scared of him. To his great surprise she
took it quite well and was holding his hand as they walked around the
village. The others had tactfully disappeared to allow them some time
alone and Jessica was kind of glad thatthat. He smiled at her as they
went into the local joke shop. James and Sirius were inside arguing with
a certain Lily Evans who was threatening to hex them if they didn’t stop
picking on the first years.
Remus could only shake his head at the two as James tried to make Lily
understand his way of thinking. “It’s a lost cause.” Jessica
giggled as Lily shook her wand at the stubborn Potter boy. Lily stumped
out of the shop muttering about arrogant boys. James grinned at them and
shrugged his shoulders. Screams of people reached the inside of the shop
causing even more panic on the inside.
In the confusion Jessica and Remus got separated and Jessica got pushed outside
where she saw someone she had hoped never to face again. Lord Voldemort
was standing in front of her with an evil grin plastered across his face.
“We finally meet keeper.” He hit her with a spell she couldn’t dodge fast
enough and the unwelcome blackness took her.

They didn’t know why they were taking her, but they knew that they had to find
out. Jessica life depended on how fast they could react so the famous
Marauders followed the girl they all liked as a friend (or girlfriend in Remus’
case) to whereever the Death Eaters and feared leader was going.
