AN-Yes,
Chapter 3 already. Normally I
can’t write this many chapters in a short amount of time because:
1. I get bored with
writing the ‘filler’ chapters before the real drama starts
2. I get hooked on a
video game and can’t stop
3. I’m too tired from
school and work to write anything
4. I have no time
5. I get another idea for
a new fanfiction and I start writing some of that instead of writing on one of
my previous stories.
Anyway, here’s chapter 3.

Time seemed to fly by for
Narcissa with no major incidents after Taya’s magical ability display. It was
another two months before
levitated during one of the rare moments he was sleeping. Taya had given him a
condemning look, as if to say, ‘Well, it took you long enough.’ Lucius seemed
pleased, Narcissa had noted, but also slightly bothered by the fact that it had
taken him this long. He seemed to agree with Taya’s “comment”. ‘Like father,
like daughter.’ Narcissa told herself.
After that, however, life
became rather boring since nothing new seemed to happen. The twins were
babbling nonsense to each other, not that they understood each other, and
sometimes it got on Narcissa’s nerves. Taya has spoken for real for at eight months
during a cold winter’s night in November. It was a rather bland night: Lucius
and Narcissa both sitting in the study, Lucius buried in paperwork from the
Ministry and Narcissa shifting through the mail, while Taya and

it, causing him to let go of the toy, which landed next to Taya with a ‘class=SpellE>thunk’, undamaged.

wouldn’t work on his tough sister. He looked at her for a second more, and then
went back to the plush rabbit in his lap.
Narcissa and Lucius shot
each other questionable looks, wondering if something should be done about what
just happened, but in the end, they decided against it, since
was a blessing. Lucius went back to his work, acting as if the incident hadn’t
affected his judgment of Taya at all, but Narcissa was sure that that she has
seen a smile before he went back to writing. Perhaps he’d learn to love her
after all.
By the next month, Taya
had added the words ‘idiot’, ‘food’, ‘no’, and even her own name, ‘Taya’ to her
vocabulary along with many others. She had learned to call Narcissa ‘mother’
and Lucius ‘father’. She had also learned to say ‘
was still ‘quiet stupid’. Some other times, she used ‘quiet idiot’ or ‘stupid
brother’, but almost just ‘brother’. Towards the end of the month, she started
speaking in sentences and saying things like ‘Brother is stupid’ constantly.
Near Christmas time, Narcissa persuaded Lucius into donning a Santa costume for
the children. By the scrutinizing look on Taya’s face, she knew it was her
father, but nevertheless, said nothing.
‘Santa’ held

first wood would be ‘food’. ‘Santa’ shook his head sighing, and then smiled

and took a photo. Then, ‘Santa’ picked Taya up and asked her what she wanted for
Christmas. Taya smiled and asked “Annie-thin?” Lucius assumed she had meant to
say ‘anything’, so he smiled and told her yes. Taya’s eyes lit up and she said
“Taya wants anuther, non-idiot brother.”
Narcissa choked at the
comment and Lucius simply blinked, both obviously stunned.
together, started to whimper. “SISTER MEAN!” he shouted. Taya turned to face
him and stuck out her tongue at him. Narcissa shook her head at Taya “Don’t do
that, Taya, it’s rude.” Taya shrugged, and Narcissa sighed. What did she ever
do to deserve such a rude and troublesome, but nevertheless brilliant,
daughter? In the background,

When Lucius returned, and
down in identical chairs and handed one of the house-elves a camera,
instructing it to take the family picture. Standing next to Lucius, behind the
twins, Narcissa smiled. Neither her nor Lucius noticed
the plastic ornament from the tree that Taya was holding or the mischievous
grin that played on her face. As the house elf raised the camera to take the
picture, Taya threw the ball, which hit her brother’s head, causing him to cry.
The developed photo that
was hung over the mantle days later showed two smiling blissfully unaware
parents, a mischievous smiling Taya, and
