Chapter 3
"You are so pulchritudinous!",a voice rang out in the dim infirmary at Hogwarts, where Poppy and
a deplorable-looking student came from her room,his shirt frayed open,her cheeks,along with
her bosom, where a slight pink. Sibyll was stirring in her bed,as a sappy-looking Ravenclaw
prefect, with a piece of chocolate in his hand sat staring down her with much sympathy, but
then looked in a bemused stare at the school's nurse, and the student he knew all to well as
Remus Lupin.
Remus had been coming into the infirmary quite often, especially since he was starting his
sixth year as a seventeenth year old,and Poppy and he not only spent hours together in that
room of her's,they sometimes would get drunk and go on mindless romps around the students
that were on bed rest. And of course,Mr.Agnes Alban would take good heed of this too,he sighed
and coughed, making his presence known to the pair. The stopped in their tracks near the exit
door and Poppy giggled nudging him out into the corridors.
She stared blankly at Agnes who had an acute eyebrow raised as he stared with a face
of sheer disgruntle at her,he stood and rested the candy upon the stand next to Sibyll's bed
and shook his head disdainfully at Poppy,"Tsk tsk, ever since our dear Mr.Lupin has turned
seventeen you most certainly keep his hands off of him...no wonhe she spends so much time
in here.",and with that Poppy made a "hmmph" noise and stumbled out of sight. Little did
Agnes know that there was another far more complex reason for Remus having to stay with
Poppy ever month for two or three days.
He sat back down, his mind wondering around blankly as he crossed his legs attempting to be
suave,he wasn't exactly handsome, but he wasn't ugly either, yet there was something about the
way he had a crooked disturbing smile, and spoke on the side of his mouth. Agnes shuffled
in his seat as Sibyll's eyes seemingly popped open, she then sat up as if rising from the dead and
she screamed as she saw the cresent smile holding a charming piece of chocolate in his hand.
"Bloody hell!",she said searching around franticlly upon her face as if probing for her glasses, then
a keen remebral of that she no longer wore them. She crept her eyes back over to finally face Agnes
and she sighed, knowing all to well what had happened after she had fainted upon the express.
Quickly, she stood out of bed shakily, yawning and scratching at her straight and prim hair. Not
knowing for how long she had been inside Hogwarts, she asked him and he replied that time was
not a to minor strain that the other Ravenclaw students were doubly sorry about their
dear Miss Trelawney's sudden brush with death.
Sibyll scrapped the candy from his hand finally and she smirked down at him,she wasn't particullarly
in the mood to converse with a boy she had managed to go five and a half years without talking to
as of now. Especially, know that she knew he had been watching...of all things...sleep.She then
became edgy as the silence began to creep among them ahe dhe decided to break the silence with
a good question,"Excuse me,but may I return to the common room?",she asked stretching out her
arms and yawning,and Agnes nodded.
"Sure, sure,oh and before I forget, her are a few things of yours Miss Trelawney.",he said beginning
to step in front of her bed,and took her orb,and four tea cups from beneath his robe and his
cresent beamed pearly white,"Would you like these back?",he asked teasing in the most
ridiculous of ways,of course she wanted them back, why wouldn't she?
Sibyll smiled an exasperated smile, and quicklys retrieved her belongings, deep down she scorned
herself for even forgetting,or not noticing that her prized posessions weren't even in her robes. As
they made their way out of the infirmary,Poppy peeped out and insisted that Sibyll eat some
chocolate, and of course,be ushered back to the Ravenclaw common room by way of Agnes
holding her hand.
All the while they made their way around Hogwarts to their beloved house tower, the pictures
raising eyebrows at Sibyll and whispering about things that have changed among her,and little
beknownst about her fainting and such things. They passed the Fat Lady, nodding graciously to
her and then slipped their way towards the long way to the tower, well Anges did,but Sibyll
took great authority to notice this direction.
"You're taking the scenic route?",she asked finally ungrasping her hand from his,but he
didn't seem to mind.He just smiled down at her and continued walking, even when Sibyll
stopped in her tracks and stared blankly around the dark halls.
Finally,he stopped and waved her over,"Come on Miss Trelawney, just move along this way
its for the best, the stairs over by the knight's gone a collapsing.Please.Follow.",and with that
Sibyll believed him, somewhat, she wasn't in the mood for going of into a full-on telekinesis
trip, not that she would have been able to do so anyways. She had been following him quite
peacefully and silenced for quite some time, when the finally reached the "knight" which
was begging tochanchanged, but alas, they had to give the password to the bastard iron
thing.Sibyllod aod and sighed.
"What's the pass-",she managed to say, before Agnes quietly spoke,"Super cooler."
Sibyll smirked most ceremoniously at tactiaction, and settled her way through the
knew pentagonal opening in the wall and settled into the common room, which was
filled with hordes of ridiculously smart and witty students who bounded up to her
and Agnes, more or less her,but of course Agnes didn't mind, and he just scuttled
off into the backroom.
She stared blankly down at the girls who were grabbing at her thing arms, and
handing her over to a large poofy velvet sofa in the center of the dim-litted
room. After being asked how she felt, did she eat well, and if she was badly
mistreated by Mr.Alban, she stood up and excused herself. Why all of the sudden
were people worried about me,Miss Trelawney, she thought.Yet,as she made
her way up the stairs into her own private room since she was a prefect and
settled down on her fourposter, her large bags next to it gone unpacked, she
couldn't help, but wonder that the only reason she was getting so much attention
was that she was actually pretty this year...and perhaps...just perhaps...
Her thoughts could not be finished, for indeed the tricky Millicent had entered the room,
her murky presence was ever cascading down upon the walls as her malicious
tendrils of hair examined everything, she floated down onto the bed at Sibyll's feet
as the girl fell into a deep sleep.Sibyll could no longer fight off her best friend, the one
she had tried to help,the one she loved,but alas,never trust a siren.Never trust a
siren.
Millicent pondered her thoughts for the moment, and quickly decided it best that she
talk aloud for a moment to get things out into the air,as if she reallly were speaking
to her dear friend,so later on,she wouldn't feel as guilty for the following actions.
She guffawed and stood up,the blades along her gloved right hand shining in the
peering moonlight through the window.
Dark circles formed underneath the usually brown skin under her eyes as she
began to speak,"My dear,dear Sibyll,the reason I'm here at Hogwarts,or rather
in England,is the most amusing thing. I know I have said countless amounts of
time that I loved Alistair, and I still do...but the most terrible thing happened to me
a fortnight ago...upon my sleeping,I most retardedly slept with my husband,as is
the proper thing to do...but I happened to become pregnant! And upon this
arrival, this awoken my clause with the ministry, for it is illegal for a siren to have
children",then she pauses making a dipping with her knees and the suddenly whips
herself around as if Sibyll would have awoken, but she did not."Anyways,Alistair
found out,and for my safety prompted me to abort the childbirth! Yet I could not
my lovey! I could simply not! So I did the only thing I could do...I murdered him.And
to this single day I am not ashamed of it,the bastard tried countless charms upon me
in the night, and I must say that was his death wish.So here I am,trying to avoid the
Dementors,my new enemy now that those Death Eaters...wait aren't Dementors Death
Eaters?"
She cackles, and continues,"As if you would know the difference,so nevertheless, being
that they think I'm in the states they will go there,so I came here...but I've already
started trouble here. If I cannot bear children, then that pathetic little welf blf boy
cannot attend school! If I couldn't for twenty-five years,I'll be damned if he will,he
is danger to this society, and to you as well my darling...I've seen it..and I've read
it in the nightmares...though I cannot speak this aloud I'm afraid...if you wish, come
and see me in the haggard tapestries....and don't act like you don't know that you
don't know that you know where it is.Tah-tah for now my sweet!",she giggles and
then sloths her wait out of the room from where she came.
Sibyll shuffles awake and blinks, then pounds her fists into the mattress,"Damnit!",she
yells and sulks inside, she had let her Millie get the best of her again, but little did
Millie know that she had heard her words, but there was nothing that the poor little
sibyl-girl could do,but cry.Poor Remus,he hadn't done a thing to anyone,and now
he will die,for she knew the true power of her friend. The last siren.
As the hot tears streamed down her face, she stood up and took a stand to the door,
now that Millie had left her,she had no one to speak to for comfort, but she did
know of one person who would be glad to help her.She sauntered down the stairs, and
across the common room to the shabby linen-hidden door that leads to the prefects
room. She knocked upon the door, and within a few seconds,Agnes's face appeared
in front of her.She became a bit nervous, and noticed how late it had gotten,he was
already in his sleeping robes.Sibyll tugged at the bottom of her skirt, and smiled
nervously,"I-I wish to speak with you Agnes."
He scorned her,but nonetheless took her into his room, which was well-lit for any
Ravenclaws room. She positioned herself across from him at the mahongany
tea table he had in his room,as he poured her a cup of tea."Oh,and please,in
the Ravenclaw way, address me as Mr.Alban.",Sibyll nodded at his words, and
promised that she would try and respect his wishes.
"So,what is the problem Miss Trelawney?",he asked setting the tea cup in fronf hef her as she began stirring the misty fluid with her index finger, her large eyes
refelecting the mist rising from the cup.Agnes waited upon her answer as his
cresent became closed and he crossed his legs, reaching a hand across the
table onto her arm,and resting it there."Please, tell Miss Trelawney."
She smiled, and then began tearing again, her eyes already becoming bloodshot
as Agnes conducted a hankerchief over to dot her eyes. After composing herself, yet
with a bit of crying still proceeding she managed to say,"Miss Gertrudis has returned.
And she is coming after Mr.Lupin."
"Miss Trelawney, please tell me that what you speak of is not true! Why,Miss Gertrudis,I
thought she was in Azkaban!"
"No! She escaped! And she's on the run from Dementors and...and she's killed Mr.Alistair!"
Agnes gasped, and held onto his heart, with a girlish hand,"Impossible Miss Trelawney!"
Sibyll snorted,and began to cry even more,"Yes! Yes,my dear Mr.Alban,what I speak
of is true! The shame of it ",Si",Sibyll said, hitting herself on the inside for all the melodramatic
ways of which she was now speaking,Agnes was already rubbing off on her.She then attempted
to return to her normal, forever calm state.Sibyll Trelawney was never affected by death
and this death and future death would not begin to bother her.
Agnes shook his head, for he was terribly distraught inside,"Oh my dear, dear Miss Trelawney!
You know what we must do as of now, correct?!",he yelped, now wiping his own eyes.
Sibyll blinked, she had already reserved herself, and now sat sipping on her tea,"And what
might that be Mr.Alban?"
"Comfort me....",he mumbled standing up and leering across the table at Sibyll, who's eyes
enlarged to five times their natural size,as she yelped out into the room of harrassment
and peril.Agnes's hands soon cup her face as she had inadvertently flung herself
over onto his bed,"Kiss me Miss Trelawney!",he said puckering up his cresent on the
side of his crooked face as Sibyll tried to fight him off.
"Get off of me!",her words caromed off of the wall as she punched him off of her as he
sulked in the corner of the room. She then made her way to hover over him."PLEASE
Mr.Alban do not try to make any advances upon me...I know how you are all
Bohemian and what not,but please, for the betterment of our growing friendshipe I
advise you not to touch me in any way as of what you did now.Understand?"
He clasped onto his ribs tightly and nodded, his cresent returning as he smiled,
"Dear Miss Trelawney,I am sorry for my abrupt actions. Please,I ask that you stay
and let us formulate some sort of plan to keep Miss Gertrudis from going through
with what she had planned?"
Sibyll considered this and sat back down upon the bed as her hands reached
out from underneath her robes for her orb and she sighed as she sat the
glowing sphere upon her lap,"Pour me another tea will you Mr.Alban?"
"Why certainly Miss Trelawney. With great pleasure.",Agnes said,a few
grieving tears from his former headmaster's death still ringing down the sides
of his pale little face.
