Later that afternoon Madam Pomfrey decided that she could leave the Hospital Wing, she had filled her with so many happy-pills that she would stay happy for an entire month, not to mention the spells casted to make sure that she could not to an action like that again.
Amanda scoffed – do it again? She had intentionally not mentioned that it was the professor that had pushed her over the parapet; that certainly would get her sent directly to St. Mungo’s where someone would lock her up and throw away the key.
Leaving the Hospital Wing she slightly feared to run into anyone familiar – a.k.a. family: Oliver. She shook her head, he never had listened to her and she doubted highly that he ever would. She had never taken to Quidditch and she didn’t think he’d ever forgiven her for that – that sport was simply his life. Turning her head lightly she noticed the small bird following her. Her guardian. She shook her head again, why didn’t they just write across her forehead that she was mental and suicidal… though she wasn’t… The small blackbird, she laughed – it should have been a mocking bird, was an optical delusion to anyone but the professors and other teachers. She breathed deeply, at least the other students wouldn’t know – of course they would by the speed of rumours on this cursed school – but they wouldn’t be able to see the bird…
Skipping (Damn those happy-pills) down the stairs she turned right and headed down the corridor which would lead her to the library. A good book was definitely needed, maybe she could read it outside… in the lovely sunshine… with the lovely birds… and NO! She smacked her foreheath hth her hand, chill down girl – like cool…. A giggle escaped her throat. What was going on, she was starring at the ceiling, dragging her feet and twirling a stray of her brown hair between her fingers. In her own little world she continued down the narrow passage, a little shortcut to the library she discovered a few years ago. Entering the rather large hallway she found it strangly empty, normally tons of people used it, either to get to class – ok it was Saturday so not many would be going there, but also to get to the West Dungeons and Ravenclaw Tower. Nevermind, it was too empty to be normal.
-Did I miss a special event? Duelling Club? A note saying… naw – if it was urgent it would have been spoken all over the school-
“Hey!”
The voice was heard behind her but she didn’t take noticed of it, the possibility of it being her who was being called was zero.
“I’m talking to you…”
-Not me…-
Suddenly a hand was placed on her shoulder and she twirled around, facing a pale grey-eyed Slytherin.
-Malfoy-
“Wood, I was talking to you… are you deft?”
Raising an eyebrow she took a step back, what on Earth did he want with her?
“No, I am not…”
She looked down, there was something about him that made her uncomfortable – then again, she was uncomfortable around everybody.
He laughed coldly.
“Aww… how cute, she’s shy!”
The comment was clearly said to his goons because as Amanda felt her cheeks get red she heard both Crabbe and Goyle laugh out loud. Pressing her eyes closed she felt them stinging as if she was to cry.
“Oh sod off…”
She turned and would have headed for the Library if it wasn’t for the big Slytherin standing behind her, bumping into him she almost lost her balance but managed to stay on her feet this time. Looking up her eyes grew wide and a gasp escaped her lips.
The black haired Slytherin snickered coldly while towering over her.
“So you are Oliver’s babysister… I never even knew he had one…”
Malfoy laughed behind her and she suddenly felt like she was the victim of a set up. Turning she looked at the blond Slytherin.
“What’s… what’s going…. On… why are… why are you here?”
The four of them laughed, Malfoy pushing her backwards so she hit the chest of the former Slytherin Quidditch Captain. Strong hands were placed on her shoulders and she felt ice form in her stomach.
Oliver had never had a greater enemy than Flint and she felt very sick to her stomach knowing that now Flint knew of her, that had been a great secret – Oliver had done everything in his power to make sure none of the Slytherins knew of her. Sometimes she’d wondered if it had been an invisibility spell he’d casted on her because she was like air to the whole school.
The rivalry between the two of them had never died, not even after they had both graduated from Hogwarts. Oliver had been offered the position of Quidditch teacher which he of course had accepted, rumours had it that Flint had also been offered the job but depending on Oliver’s answer…
“If… if this is all you have to do today, then please move I-“
Malfoy pulled out his wand and aimed at her, the tip only inches from her nose.
“Oh do shut up Wood!”
Crabbe’s grunt supposedly should have been a laugh made Goyle laugh even more. The two of them were truly morons, no wonder they didn’t make it further than goons for a rich brat. Trying to look at both the wand and the person holding it must have been quite a sight for Malfoy because he smiled slightly but it showed to be just another of his cold and cruel smirks.
“Let’s play a game – it’s called: Name that counter curse!”
He laughed and started to swing his wand, a spell would be hitting her any minute but…
*ahem*
-Oh no... any spell but this…-
“Mister Malfoy, no spells in the Hallways and please, keep your visitors to the lounge – we can’t have them running around”
The steps came closer.
“Oh.. Mister Flint – nice to see Them here”
Feeling a very sudden headache coming she slid out of Flint’s grasp and back towards the passage. She certainly needed some peace and quiet, maybe in her room… but before she got close enough someone grabbed her arm and held her back. Feeling the coldness radiating through the fabric she was not doubting who had his hand on her. Just watching her shoes she listened as he sent the others on their ways. This was not good but atleast – he wouldn’t beat he.
.
“There – saved again… Lucky you!”
(A/N: sorry for the delay but I have had a rough time and tons of problems - now I\'m just hiding here in my own little writer\'s world *blocks doors and windows* Thank you for the reveiws - always nice *huggles*)
