I'm Sorry
Me?
“I didn’t want to cause it, I swear,” I’m breathing hard. I can’t see, I don’t think. “Please I’m sorry, I didn’t want to, I’m sorry.”
Vaguely I’m aware that Ron’s talking to me. Saying my name. Holding me up. Yelling
“Please, I won’t do it again. I only wanted to help, please.”
Hysterical voices, “Draco!” Hermione.
People blur into one, objects becomes colors. Black.
When I wake up I am no longer surrounded by black. Everything is pristine and white. A hospital room. I call for a nurse.
She bustles in, all smiles. Checking my stats. A slightly overweight woman follows her. Shocking red hair. This hair can only come form one family. The Weasleys. And this is the main one of them all. Molly Weasley.
“Draco, darling, you had us all so worried, and with what happened to Harry and everything, honestly.” I’m frozen with surprise. “But now that both of you are better, everything is quite alright, right darling? Of course. Anyway, I took the liberty of owling your mother, she was in such a fright, came strait away. Poor dear. I sent her to get some tea; her hands were shaking like mad. She’ll be alright, she’s just concerned. With what happened to your father last year and everything. But chin up dear. All is well that ends well. And yo wan want everything to end well, right?
Oh my God. Doesn’t the woman breath? I have a newfound respect for all Weasleys. I nod; I want everything to end well.
“How’s Harry?”
“He’ll be alright darling, there’s nothing wrong with him, physically anyway,” Mrs. Weasley says reassuringly. “But I dare say he’s got a bit more wrong with him, something along the matters of the heart.”
“Yes, I know,” I reply.
“I’m sure right now he wants nothing more that to see his rescuer, after all, Harry is such a grateful boy.”
“I know”
“And kind.”
“I know”
“And lonely.”
“What?” I’m startled, “How can he be alone when he’s got all of you around him?”
“Listen Draco,” Mrs. Weasley says sharply, “I said lonely not alone, I’m sure you know the difference as well.”
Slightly frightened by these new turns of events, I resume my previous skill. Nodding.
Smiling gently again she says, “And I’m sure you’ll want to go see Harry, after all, you’ll want to see how well he is. I’m sure you’re so happy that he’s fine. Right?”
Nod.
“Perfect, I’ll just help you out of this bed,” She says, standing from her chair, reaching for me.
“Alright,” I’m pretty sure this woman has mad mood swings.
“Go on then Draco dear, you remember Harry’s room number don’t you? Wonderful. Ta Ta darling, I must find you mother, she was awful shaken, love.”
Barking mad.
The lot of them.
TBC?
