The end

Harry was doing his homework beside Ron and Hermione. Ginny took this as the only chance she would get to talk to Harry.

“Harry?”

Harry looked up from his work with wide eyes surprised at being interrupted and responded, “Yes?”

“Can I speak to you for a moment?”

“Uh, oh, yeah sure.” Staggered Harry as he stood up.

Ginny took Harry’s wrist and took him over to a secluded corner of the common room.

“Look, Harry, I’m sorry.”

“Sorry for what Ginny? You didn’t do anything.”

“No, I’m sorrsorry for something I did, I’m sorry for someone else.”

“Who?”

“Um,” Said Ginny eyeing her brother but Harry hadn’t taken notice, he was too concentrated on what the girl in front of him had to say. “Nothing. Just know that I don’t like when things are forced. And I promise I’ll try to fix things. Good night Harry.” Said Ginny as she ran out of the common room.

Harry was standing there dumbfounded. This was by far the weirdest day he ever came across.

Harry took his seat again with his best friend and his boyfriend.

“What did Ginny talk to you about?” Asked Ron suspiciously.

“I’m not sure. She didn’t really make sense.” Said Harry. Then he shook his head, “Forget it. It’s probably not important anyway.” And Harry returned to his work.

*~*

Moments later Ron had made an excuse for being hungry and was going to the kitchen to look for some food when he saw who he was looking for.

“Ginny!” Shouted Ron

Ginny turned around and glared at her brother. “What?”

Ron closed the distance between them so they didn’t have to let the whole school know what they were talking about. “What did you say to Harry just now?”

“None of your business my, oh so, dear brother o’ mine!” Replied Ginny with full-fledged attitude and sarcasm behind every word.

Ron looked around the hall to make sure no one was listening until he finally whispered, “Well, I think your up to something, and when I think your up to something, you usually are. So stop it and leave Harry alone.”

Ginny glared at her older brother again, “Harry has the right to associate with whoever the hell he wants to. You can’t control him you know.”

“He’s my boyfriend Ginny. You know what that means? That means that Harry belongs to me. And no one else can touch him!”

“Well then, you had better keep a tight hold on your BOYFRIEND then shouldn’t you? Before someone like ME who has the fucking guts to stand up to the likes of YOU takes you down!” Shouted a very angry Ginny before she turned to leave her idiot brother standing there boring a hole in her back.

While Ginny was walking towards the library deciding that no matter what she was going to break up Harry and her idiot of a brother she was approached by someone who she didn’t know was watching the entire scene that just took place.

“Ms. Weasley, a word please?”

Ginny turned in her surprise, “Oh, yes professor Snape, certainly.”

*~*

Professor Snape brought Ginny into his office, which was not the same place as his potions classroom, and took a seat behind the desk, motioning Ginny to take a seat as well.

“What did you want to talk about professor Snape?”

“I noticed that you are quite an observant little girl aren’t you?”

“Uh, yeah, I guess so.”

“And you stand for what you believe in don’t you?”

“Yes, of course. As long as I know it’s the right thing to do.”

“Good, now, I heard the argument between your bother and yourself just a few minutes ago.”

“Oh, sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry Ginny, you had every right to be angry as I feel the same way about Blaise.”

“So you noticed it as well professor?”

“Yes, the energy they held together was not difficult to detect was it?”

“No professor.”

“Now, I understand that you had your share of fancying done upon Mr. Potte wel well didn’t you?”

“Yes.”

“What happened to that?”

“I wanted him to be happy. I really do love Harry sir. It’s just, if his happiness means that he is with someone else, well I’ll be happy just knowing that he’s happy. If you understand.”

“Yes, I do. And I am very proud of that. Ten points to Griffindor.”

Ginny’s eye’s shot wide open, “But-but sir-”

“It’s okay, I’m not drunk or anything. I know I normally never give points to Griffindor, but seeing as of right now, I am quite disappointed in a student of my own house, I feel it is my duty to reward you points for having a true heart. It is not easy to come by. Trust me, I know. It hurts doesn’t it? To watch the one you love go off with someone else. That sort of pain Ginny, you never heal from. Not truly.”

Ginny didn’t say anything as a tear slipped down her cheek.

“Don’t cry dear. You are doing the right thing, and I am quite proud of you.”

Ginny smiled but didn’t look at her potions professor, “Thank you.”

“Now, what shall we do with this situation we have?”

“Oh, I’m going to kill Ron when he gets home. I swear I’ll kill him with my bare hands if I must!” Said Ginny with full determination.

Snape smiled at Ginny, “Such determination my child. I commend it. Another ten points to Griffindor.”

Ginny looked at Snape in shock again. Twenty points in ten minutes. She must be dreaming.

At the end of the night, Ginny and her potions professor had thought up the perfect plan to bring an end to the misery of the Golden Boy of Griffindor and the king of the Slytherin’s.

When Ginny returned to the common room she wasn’t surprised to see Hermione in the corner of the room all alone still doing some extra work, as usual.

“Hermione, I need to talk to you.”

“Uh, okay Gin.”

“Look,” Ginny whispered, “Wait, are Ron and Harry asleep?”

“Yeah, the left for bed after Ron came back from the kitchen.”

Ginny’s eye’s dropped. “Is THAT where he said he was going?”

“Uh, Yeah, Gin, what’s going on?”

“Look, Hermione, I need to tell you something, you may not believe me but it’s true, you can ask professor Snape yourself.”

“Professor Snape? What does he have to do with anything?”

“The thing is, well, I’m quite disappointed in Ron. I think he recently found out that Harry fancies someone else, that’s why he was crying the other day. Didn’t you think it was weird that after Harry went up to talk to him that he was calm so quickly?”

“Well, no, I thought Ron was just being silly and Harry just brought some sense back to the silly boy.”

“Well, Harry DOES fancy someone else. The problem is, the boy Harry fancies already has a boyfriend. Blaise Zabini.”

“You mean Harry likes Draco?”

Ginny nodded.

“What? That’s absurd.”

“Not if you look closely. Look, I was talking to professor Snape about it just now and we have a plan to get Harry and Draco together.”

“And why exactly do we want them together?”

“Because Hermione, even I would have thought you would understand me by now. Ron is holding Harry against his own will. Hermione, if you love Harry then you would want him to be happy no matter what right?”

“No doubt about it.”

“Then you will help. Harry is sad; can’t you see it in his eyes? It’s lost that cheerfulness. He’s being forced by Ron and I for one want Harry to be happy.”

Hermione looked at her book, “I need some more convincing, I’m sorry.”

“Okay, just observe Harry and Draco during breakfast tomorrow and you’ll understand. They have a silent need for each other, they have for a long time, it just hit me recently and I want Harry to be happy. Even if it IS with Malfoy.”

Hermione nodded then yawned. “I’ll check it out for myself tomorrow. Good night Gin.”

“Sleep well Hermione.”

The next morning Hermione remembered to keep an eye out at Harry. She had to admit, Harry didn’t seem too happy as they were making their way from the common room to the Great Hall. She noticed that most of his smiles were forced, like he was just living to entertain Ron. To keep Ron happy. Just like Harry to do some stupid selfless thing like that and not even think of his own happiness.

When they entered the Great Hall Draco wasn’t there yet. Draco was never there before they were.

Hermione didn’t say much, just kept an eye on Harry from time to time while Harry was nodding and adding little comments to whatever Ron was saying.

Then Draco entered and if she weren’t paying so much attention to Harry she would never have seen that slight tenseness in his posture.

/So it’s true./ Thought Hermione.

Suddenly she saw the Slytherin’s eyes flicker slightly towards Harry’s back then removed to look back at his own boyfriend but not before the Slytherin’s gaze fell to the saddest expression she had ever seen on him.

/Oh God. Ron, what have you done you evil git?/ Thought Hermione.

Hermione quickly finished her breakfast and leaned over to whisper something to Ginny and they both left the Great Hall muttering something about a book they forgot.

“Gin, your right.”

“See!”

“I’m sorry Gin.”

“So will you help?”

“Hell yes! I can’t believe it.”

“Well, believe it Hermione. And I’d be glad to tell professor Snape that you’re helping with our plan. Let’s see if he’s done his part in recruiting a helper on our side as well.”

The next morning after Snape had the talk with Ginny he headed straight for the Headmasters bedchamber.

“Headmaster?”

“Come in Severus, come in.”

Severus took a seat across from Dumbledore’s desk.

“Headmaster, I need to talk to you about something.”

“Go on.”

“I have recently discovered that Mr. Malfoy and Mr. Potter have grown, how shall I put this? Rather fond of one another.”

“But both Mr. Potter and Mr. Malfoy already have someone. Please enlighten me professor.”

“They are simply being forced into it Headmaster and I personally do not feel it right that they are forced into a relationship they do not care to be in which, in turn, is tearing apart a relationship that could be.”

“My, Severus, first you reward Griffindor twenty points, now you are taking a liking to Mr. Potter’s love life are you?”

“I assure you Headmaster that this will not happen again, I am only doing this because I want justice, I always have and you know that sir.”

“Yes, yes. But I saw Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley yesterday morning during breakfast, they were fine.”

“Did you really read Mr. Potter sir? Because if you had, you would have noticed that he might as well be under the Imperius curse. His eyes have lost life, his words have lost joy, his life has lost meaning. He is under control and I for one want to put a stop to this.”

“Well, I will have to see about this Severus, meddling in student’s personal lives is a problem, but it can be understood if it is for for their benefit, physically or mentally. I will see this morning during breakfast. Now, you should get some food yourself. You look like you haven’t had much sleep have you?”

“No sir, the talk with Ms. Weasley last night stirred up some old memories.”

“Ah yes, memories about another Potter I presume.”

“Yes. But it is beyond my control now. Nothing I can do to change the past.”

“Quite right Severus. Now, please, eat something and don’t worry yourself. If anything, I will have a talk with Mr. Weasley and Mr. Zabini personally.”

“I’d rather you not sir, for rather, Ginny and I have a plan to make it all fall into place. I simply need your help and if Ginny held true to her end, then we have a chance of carrying this out. I really do hope that justice is brought to this. I do not appreciate, even if it IS Potter, unjust matters be brought about.”

*~*

The Headmaster entered the Great Hall and seated himself in the middle of the staff table looming above the students.

The Headmaster noticed Harry enter and indeed, true to Severus’s word, the young Griffindor did look as though the life had been knocked out of him.

The Headmaster took notice that young Harry was basically merely entertaining Mr. Weasley and he could tell that Mr. Weasley had enough brains to see this as well but did nothing to acknowledge the fact that he was getting so much attention from the famous Harry Potter.

This was when the question dawned on him. Did Mr. Weasley truly, and he really meant TRULY, love Mr. Potter. Because if he didn’t, then Mr. Weasley is going to have a great deal of explaining to do to not only himself but to a great amount of other people.

Though even with the empty eyes of Hary Potter, the Headmaster was not going to be too quick with conclusions, he decided to wait until he saw young Malfoy before he were to draw up any conclusions of his own.

Dumbledore noticed that as Draco entered the Great Hall, the posture to Harry’s form had shifted just the very slightest.

That was when he noticed the Slytherin glaze the slightest glance over at Harry’s back and his expression fell a substantial amount as the Slytherin returned his gaze to the boy next to him.

That was more than enough evidence for the Headmaster. He was definitely mistaken to not have taken up on Severus’s word at the first moment.

The Headmaster leaned over and caught Severus’s eye and nodded curtly informing the potions master that he has indeed decided to take part in the ‘plan’ in which young Ms. Weasely and the potions professor had drawn up.

His most favoured student. Suddenly Dumbledore felt slightly guilty of his own lack of observant upon Mr. Potter.

When he had left Mr. Potter at the steps of Pivet Drive he vowed to keep the young boy safe at all cost yet he let this slip. Of course, there was not much visible harm coming upon the Griffindor physically but even Dumbledore could see the broken heart in Harry’s eyes.

The Griffindor was empty, empty of hope, of lust, of thirst for life. In many ways, this was more danger to a person than any form of physical pain to be inflicted.

Dumbledore looked up just in time to see Ms. Weasley leave the Great Hall with Ms. Granger. This must be what Severus was talking about when he mentioned Ms. Weasley’s part of the plan.
