Chapter 2: The new Gryffindor
Dumbledor came back just in time to see Harry picking himself off the ground. “Harry, do not rush her. She has gone through a lot of trauma.”
“Yes sir.” Replied Harry, rubbing his tailbone.
“Now, Xana, we will get you sorted.” And Dumbledor gave her the hat.
With her hands shaking lightly, Xana put the hat on her head.
Ah, a new one. I see all and know all.
I may not be pretty, but I am wise.
Lets see what you will make of me,
When to your new house I send thee.
A good mind and a strong heart you have.
Loyal, brave and true.
Been through trauma you have.
Hmm… where to place you.
Ravenclaw would be good for you…
But so would Hufflepuff.
I know… but before I tell thee,
You must know…
Welcome the serpent with open arms
And it will not bite.
“Gryffindor!”
Xana sighed with relief. She didn’t want to be in any other house than Gryffindor.
“I’m really sorry about what happened.”
“Xana, what happened to you to make you afraid?” Hermione asked, concerned.
“I- I’d rather not talk about it.”
“okay. You can tell us on you own time, okay?” Hermione looked at the guys for confirmation. They nodded and so did Xana. “We better get to class guys. Finals.” The two boy groaned and got up. They all said goodbye to Xana, saying they’ll see her later and left.
“Don’t worry Xana. All will be well. Just remember what the sorting hat told you.” Dumbledor told and left.
