CHAPTER 2: Secrets Revealed
Malfoy returned and knelt in front of Lord Voldemort. \"So, Lucius, were you able to find my daughter?\" the dark lord hissed impatiently. Malfoy stood and nodded his head and then began to report his findings.
LOS ANGELES: Angel was in a meeting with his company employees of Angel Investigations when suddenly his arm began to burn in pain. What the? That can\'t be! Voldemort is dead, he thought. Everybody else noticed the sudden grimace on his face. They can\'t know the truth. Only the now dead Potters, Remus Lupin and Professor Dumbledore know of his undercover work as a Death Eater. \"Is something the matter, Angel?\" Wesley Wyndham-Price, the former Watcher, asked.
\"No. I just forgot to take care of something. Something that can\'t wait. Let\'s call it a day, or night, and we\'ll meet back here tomorrow night,\" Angel suggested. Everybody nodded in perfect, but slightly suspicious understanding. After everybody left the room, Angel went to his bedroom and to a secret chamber. He lifted a long forgotten chest and blew the dust that had been accumulating. He opened it and removed his Death Eater robes.
He Apparated to the chamber where Voldemort was waiting. \"Ah, if it isn\'t my good, evil vampire servant, Angelus. Welcome. I have a mission for you,\" Voldemort hissed as Angel knelt down before him. Whatever Voldemort had planned for him, it couldn\'t possibly be good, Angel thought.
SUNNYDALE: Giles had come over to Buffy\'s house the first thing when she called. He listened to both Buffy and Willow explain their dreams...at least the first part of their dreams. \"Hmm...I don\'t know what to make of it, yet there\'s something familiar about the events in those dreams that you two have described, but I can\'t remember what it is,\" Giles explained. At that instant, the back door burst open to reveal Spike running in from out of the sunlight. The three (Dawn was still asleep) looked at him in annoyance.
\"Hey everybody! I just thought I would drop by with a piece of potentially bad news,\" Spike smirked.
\"And what could that possibly be?\" Buffy asked sarcastically. \"Let me guess, another big bad, right? Another Master? Another you and Drusilla? Another Mayor? Another Adam? Another Glory?\"
\"Hey, leave Dru out of this. Anyway, have you heard of a Lucius Malfoy?\" Seeing no signs of recognition, not even from Giles, Spike continued. \"Well, he\'s one of the most virulent supporters of Voldemort and he\'s here in Sunnydale.\" Spike sighed in impatience as Buffy nor Willow showed signs of recognition. He was about to snap when Giles spoke up.
\"Voldemort! Now I know about your dreams. He\'s the figure that killed the...Potters, that\'s it! About 20-25 years ago, a wizard by the name of Voldemort started to seize power and gain followers. People didn\'t know who to trust and soon Voldemort was not only killing off witches and wizards who opposed him, but also muggles (non-magic folk) as well. Willow, your magic wouldn\'t qualify as the same type of magic as their magic. Anyway, back in 1981, Voldemort went after a family, called the Potters. He killed the father and mother, but couldn\'t kill the son. The curse rebounded on him and left him weakened,\" Giles explained.
\"Well, I got bad news. Voldemort\'s back. Last year or two years ago, he managed to use the Potter kid to bring himself back in the form of a new body. Now he\'s preparing to unleash a new period of darkness and he won\'t stop in England or Europe this time. But first, Malfoy has been sent to locate his daughter, Anne Worthington Riddle,\" Spike explained.
\"Voldemort has a daughter? She\'s probably just as evil and powerful as he is,\" Giles scoffed. But his expression changed to shock when he merely saw Spike\'s smirk and the shaking of his head.
\"Giles, Giles, Giles. Apparently, the name Worthington didn\'t ring any bells. Peter Worthington was the only British official to hold both a muggle AND magical position in the respective British muggle/magical government, so his daughter, Joyce Worthington, wouldn\'t have been beded by Voldemort willingly. I overheard the conversation between Malfoy and Willy and decided to get more info from Willy. He didn\'t tell me exactly what he told Willy, but he did give me this picture that Malfoy gave him,\" Spike said. He handed the group the picture and they were stunned: it was Buffy\'s mother!
\"What! Spike...do you mean to tell me...\" Buffy began angrily.
\"Your mother was a witch, Slayer, you\'re a witch and that your real father is probably the most evil villain of all time,\" Spike said. Buffy tried to take in the information she just heard in stride, but couldn\'t deal with it. She ran out of the kitchen and up to her room where she began sobbing. Giles and Willow glared at Spike, who merely shrugged his shoulders.
That night, Angel arrived in Sunnydale dreading to tell Buffy what he had to do. Knowing that Buffy was Voldemort\'s daughter was difficult to deal with, but that also meant having to reveal to Willow the truth about her real family. He\'d rather face Buffy as the Slayer than have to reveal these truths that shattered misconceptions...lies. Here goes nothing, he thought.

\"I see that death hasn\'t lowered your chipper spirit,\" Angel quipped.
\"What do I owe for this visit?\"
\"I have some bad news. Do you know of Vold...\" he began before Buffy interrupted him.
\"If you\'re going to tell me about Voldemort, Spike\'s already told me that he\'s my real dad...not that I\'m accepting it. Why?\" she asked. Angel went on to explain that when Voldemort was rising to power, he had been recruited by Dumbledore to infiltrate the Death Eaters. Having a past like his, that was easy for him. He mentioned that he had been summoned back to arrange a reunion between father and daughter.
\"What? I am not going to reunite with him. I\'m not going to let him go Darth Vader vs Luke all over me,\" Buffy protested.
\"I know and I don\'t have any intention on bringing you to him. I\'ve also come with some other shocking news. Is Willow here?\" Angel asked. At the mention of her name, Willow came abounding into the kitchen. Little did they know that on the kitchen windowsill was a rat, listening to their every word...a rat with a silver paw.
Angel then went on to explain how he was a friend to the Potters, whom Spike had already explained about. He told them that they had a secret that only he and a Remus Lupin knew about: Harry had an older sister. A sister named Willow to be precise. In a similar reaction to Buffy, Willow seemed to lose all ability to respond. \"Are you saying that my real parents are dead? And that I\'m not a Rosenberg, but a Potter?\" she began to cry.
The rat decided it had enough information and scurried off. Voldemort was incensed at Wormtail\'s report. \"Angelus is a traitor? The only thing I can think of why he might be a traitor is because he has a soul. How and why he has one, it\'s difficult to say. And Potter has a sister? Wormtail why didn\'t you know about this?\" Voldemort roared, aiming his wand at the animagus in preparation for delivering the Cruciatus Curse.
\"My lord...they didn\'t tell me everything! They suspected there was a spy, even as early as 1976!\" Wormtail stammered, bracing for the pain.
But before the Dark Lord had a chance to cast the curse, Lucius Malfoy stepped forward. \"My lord, may I make a suggestion?\"
\"WHAT Lucius?\"
\"I suggest that my great-grandfather, William Malfoy be contacted. Even though...events out of his control caused him to be an anathema to the Malfoy name, his condition can be an advantage and he does NOT have a soul.\"
\"What? Conduct a seance?\" Voldemort spat.
\"No need. You see...he\'s a vampire. He used to be known as William the Bloody, for his bloody awful poetry. But now he\'s known as...Spike.\"
