Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Alexandra

I lay in a bed in the Slytherin dorm, looking at the ceiling. I couldn’t sleep, I kept on thinking of what we had done. I was the only one who saw Sirius’ look of disgust when I pulled back out of Pettigrew’s mind. I also noticed him flinching when I touched him to help him steady his magic. His reaction surprised me, he was fully aware of what we had planned. Now I was sure he wouldn’t want anything to do with me. I had been so very grateful to Severus for being by my side the entire time, that I had hugged him, and kissed his cheek. I could no longer deny that I had feelings for both Sirius and Severus. It hurt that Sirius had decided to give up on me, but I couldn’t blame him.

I glanced at the clock, it was almost 5 am. I gave up on sleep, and quietly slipped out of bed to get dressed. I went to the common room to find Severus laying on the sofa by the fire, reading a book. He looked up when I approached him ‘Couldn’t sleep?’ he asked, getting up and putting the book aside. I shook my head  ‘I had too much on my mind’ I told him, taking a seat next to him. ‘And here I thought it was just the nerves for your trip’ he said, smiling at me. I laughed, I loved travelling, I really did, but I always got nervous the night before I had to take a portkey. Not wanting to tell him what was really bothering me, I nodded. He confidently put his arm around my shoulders, and I leaned into him, laying my head on his chest. He kissed the top of my head, and I was surprised that it felt this natural to me. We stayed curled up on the sofa until we heard the first people coming down to get to breakfast. When Regulus, Narcissa and Lucius were down, we left the common room together, Severus once again had his arm around me, and I felt comforted by it. I looked for Sirius when we got to the great hall, scanning the table until I found him, seated with Remus and James, glaring at Severus. I smiled at him, not knowing if he saw me, and went to my own table, where Mary wanted to hear everything about my sleepover. I supplied her with the rehearsed story about our pre-engagement celebrations, she accepted my story without asking too many questions.

Severus took my hand as we walked to the train station. I smiled encouragingly at him, when he glanced my way. ‘Have fun at home’ I told him when we reached the train. ‘Try not to get in any trouble at Malfoy’s party’ he told me. I smiled, of course he could see me causing trouble at an event like this, as if my father would allow it. ‘I’ll try I promised him ‘Although I’m sure that my mother will be the one to stir trouble’. ‘I have something for you’ he said, handing me a notebook. I took it, puzzled. ‘Owl post from Cayman to England takes a long time, so I charmed the notebook so that when you write in it, I’ll be able to see it, and be able to write back.’ I thanked him, shrunk the notebook, and put it in my pocket. We heard the whistle announcing that the train was about to leave  and Severus made to get on, I refused to let go of his hand. He gently tugged at my hand, and pulled me towards him, smiling. ‘I’ll miss you too’ he said, before capturing my lips. I felt the bond taking over, as his tong traced my lower lip. I couldn’t resist the strong pull of the bond magic when he was kissing me. Our tongues battled for dominance, and the rest of the world ceased to exist. That was until someone shouted ‘Get a room’ and we broke apart. Severus was still smiling as he got on the train. When the train left the station, our party walked towards the town. I reached Regulus and he raised an eyebrow at me ‘Don’t’ I said. Something about the look I gave stopped him, and I was grateful when he remained silent for the rest of the walk.

I arrived at the three bedroom  ocean front residential suite my parents had booked to find Pixie already waiting at the entrance. ‘Good morning Mistress, I is giving you a tour around the room.’ She said. We took the door in front of me and arrived in the combined kitchen, dining room and living room. I could see a nice terrace that was located directly at the beach. ‘The door on the left is your fathers bedroom, the door next to the sofa is your mother’s’. My mother’s room had access to the room from the hall as well. My room was connected to the entrance hall of the suite, but could also be accessed from the main hall. I thought it was nice not having to pass by my parents every time I got in late ‘I is putting your things out for your morning run, after that you is having a meeting with your father in the dining room’ Pixie told me. I gave her my bag, thanked her, and got ready for a run at the beach. While running I felt all the tension leave my body, it was relaxing to just have to focus on my breathing and the views. When I returned to my room, I showered, and got dressed in the lavender dress that Pixie had laid out for me. I went to the dining room, where I found my father being served his breakfast by his house elf. ‘Good morning father’ I said, kissing his cheek. I took a seat opposite of him, and waited patiently for him to start talking. While I waited I was offered a cup of coffee as well and some fresh fruit and yoghurt for breakfast. As I thanked the house elf, my father laid his newspaper aside, and looked at me. ‘Good morning sweetheart, did you have a good run?’ he greeted me. I confirmed that my run was satisfying. ‘You wanted to see me?’ I asked him. ‘Yes, I found the information on the anchor bond you have asked me about.’ He pushed some books across the table, most of them looked very old. ‘Anything else I can do for you this morning?’ I asked him, knowing that this could not be the only thing he wanted to talk to me about, while hoping it was so I could start reading immediately. A knock on the door broke the silence, and the house elf showed Tom in. My father stood, shook his hand, and introduced us to each other. Tom winked at me, and kissed my hand in greeting, before taking a seat himself. Tom spoke ‘I want you to start training with me’ he told me.
