I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter Twenty-Nine
Huge apologies for the delay! My muse went on holiday and did NOT want to come back! In fact, I\'ve been stumped on this story for a bit, as I had NO idea how Harry might actually cure Severus. Thanks to the wonderful Jilliane - who cmae up with a suggestion I took and adapted - I now know what Harry has to do to save Sev. Wheteher or not he actually does so is still open to debate!
This chapter features a slight break in the angst in this story - even I can\'t keep that up relentlessly!
I want to thank all my reviewers who\'ve waited so patiently (or impatiently!) for this update. If I get around to it tonight, the next chapter will appear too, which will feature Harry\'s thoughts on sex, amongst other things. SP
For Jilliane - without you, I\'d NEVER have written this chapter!
Lentesco – Chapter Twenty-Nine
Lucius Malfoy sat at his impressive Mahogany desk, blotting a letter carefully prior to calling for an elf to take it to the owlery. He re-read it, a cruel smile twisting his handsome face. Satisfied with its contents, he nodded and rose.
He moved over to the fireplace, and to the ornate mirror which hung there. He moved his head this way and that, searching, as always, for any grey hairs. His eyes narrowed as he saw one nestled amongst the silver blond. Crossing back across the large room, he opened a drawer in his desk and removed a pair of tweezers. Of course, he could have used magic, but he was concerned that he might miss and remove instead one of his precious blond hairs.
Once back at the mirror he took his time and removed the strand, wincing at the small prick of discomfort.
Lucius admired himself, turning his head this way and that, enjoying the way the fire caught his blond colouring and made it something new.
“Studdy!” He called imperiously.
At once a House Elf appeared, dressed, as Dobby had once been, in a dirty and frayed pillow case.
“Studdy, return these to the drawer.” Lucius commanded, holding out the tweezers, still with a strand of hair caught between them. “And there is a letter to be sent to Severus Snape. Take it.”
Studdy, a small elf, a distant cousin of Dobby, nodded and bowed, large ears touching the ground. “Of course, Master.”
He took the implement and carried it back to the massive desk. The elf reached up for the letter and rolled it up before tying it with a silver ribbon which was embossed with the name of his master.
He picked up the tweezers and returned them to the drawer, a smile on his lips – his Master was going grey, and he well knew how proud the wizard was of his long hair. The letter clutched in a slender hand, Studdy disapparated.
