Chapter Twenty Nine
Attack on a muggle village and Dark Mark seen in the sky once more!
Last night the small hamlet of upper Digby was attacked by a group of masked and cloaked men. The Death Eaters raided the houses, maiming and murdering all of the muggles present before setting the village alight. By the time the Aurors arrived all that was left were the tangled remains of the villagers and village with the dark mark hanging over the dreadful scene. Several muggles are missing from the remains and the ministry is desperately trying to track them down, but with little success. Despite their best efforts the ministry still has no idea where the Dark Lord’s hideout may be.
A tired ministry worker made this announcement this morning: “Unfortunately there is very little that we can do. As usual the b******* have left no clues for us to follow. We have tidied up the area and made the usual excuses to the muggle authorities, but beyond that there are no leads to follow at this time although the public can be assured that the Ministry is working around the clock to rectify the situation.” It now seems undeniable that the Dark Lord and his followers are at large once more and that war is coming.
