Chapter 28: Billy
The Great Hall: Sunday Lunch:
When Katie walked into the Great Hall the next afternoon with Alicia, the noise in the Hall hushed. Katie raised her chin as she walked towards the Gryffindor table with her head held high. She just knew everyone had been talking about her. Katie pretended not to notice when she sat down that some of her housemates pointedly ignored her.
“Hell,” said Lee as he flopped down beside Alicia. “Is it true Katie?”
“What?” asked Katie coolly with a raised eyebrow.
“Flint!” said Lee loudly. The rest of the table turned to watch their exchange.
“What about him,” said Katie unconcernedly. She gave the Slytherin table a quick glance. Marcus was not there yet. Katie gave a mental shrug. Besides, she was still angry with him and the stunt he pulled. She was not going to let him get away with it.
“So,” said Nadine, a Gryffindor girl that Katie did not like. She was one of those girly girls who mocked her when she was younger about her love for Quidditch. “Is it true Bell? That you shagged all four of the House Quidditch captains?”
Katie choked on her pumpkin juice. “Where did you hear that?” asked Katie dangerously.
“Don’t you get around Bell,” said Nadine. She turned to her friends and gave a mocking laugh. “It all over the school. I heard it from Stebbins in Ravenclaw who heard it from a source in Slytherin that you did Flint’s roommates too.”
“Shut up, you cow,” said Angelina who had sat down unnoticed in the fracas. “You are just jealous that no member of any house Quidditch team would ever give you a second glance.”
Katie felt sick as she looked helplessly towards the Slytherin table for Marcus and caught Bletchley’s eye. Billy gave her a triumphant smirk. Katie knew exactly who had been spreading gossip about her.
“I heard that those Slytherin boys like to share,” said Nadine. “Is it true Bell?”
“Shut up,” hissed Alicia.
Katie was frozen in her seat. After all, she could not deny the fact she had been to bed with all the Quidditch captains. Nevermind that she had relationships with Oliver and Marcus. She did sleep with Diggory and Davies as well. Katie felt utterly humiliated. She was about to run back to Gryffindor Tower when a gruff voice stopped her.
“Katie,” said Marcus firmly. He could see that she was getting a verbal bollocking at her table when he stepped into the Hall a few minutes ago. “Come have lunch with me.”
Katie looked up at Marcus and nodded wordlessly then she hesitated.
“Merlin,” said Marcus with a long-suffering sigh. “You aren’t still mad at me for that tiny prank I played, are you love?”
“Yes,” said Katie uncertainly. She wanted to stay mad at him but she also wanted to get away from the table.
“Someone tell Potter that I’m sorry,” said Marcus with an exaggerated eye roll. He grasped Katie’s cold hand in his large one and pulled her up. “Sorry he caught the snitch,” said Marcus under his breath.
“Marcus,” chided Katie.
“What?” asked Marcus with a puzzled look. “You said to apologize yesterday. I apologized.”
“You have to mean it,” said Katie. The rest of Gryffindor and most of the other houses were staring at them fascinated.
“But I am sorry he caught the snitch,” protested Marcus as he led Kate towards his table. He wrapped a possessive arm around her waist as he gave his House a long measured look as they approached the table.
“Bell,” nodded MacIntyre and the rest of the older Slytherins. Billy was sitting at the other end of the table. She was whispering to her cadre of Slytherin girls. Katie sat down beside Marcus and grasped his hand hard under the table.
Marcus filled her plate and gave her a reassuring wink as Adrian and Terry joined them.
“Did you know Marcus,” drawled Adrian in a loud bored voice, “ that someone is spreading untrue gossip about Katie here.”
“No,” said Marcus as his face clouded dangerously.
“Katie,” said Marcus with a frown. “What are they saying?”
Katie blushed and tried to speak but Terrence interrupted her.
“Some jealous slag is saying that Katie is ummm…. getting around,” said Terry with a raised eyebrow.
“You know,” said Marcus loudly and with a dangerous tone to his voice. “I would like the person who is spreading lies about my girlfriend to stop.”
Conversation in the Hall muted as everyone tried to hear what was being said at the Slytherin table.
Back at the Gryffindor Table:
“Merlin,” said Alicia. “Flint looks angry.”
“Yes,” said Angie as she shot a significant look at Nadine. “You know how protective Flint is of Katie. I would hate to get in his way if he thought you were slagging her off. He’s got a fiery temper.”
Nadine paled as she gave the large Slytherin an apprehensive look.
“Flint is mad for Katie, you know,” said Alicia to the rest of Gryffindor House.
“What about all the rumours,” said another Gryffindor girl.
“Katie and Flint have been together since fall,” said Angie as the rest of the table gasped.
“That long?” said Lee.
“And I sincerely doubt Flint is a sharing type of guy,” said Angie with a shrewd look towards the Slytherin table. They all seemed to be looking towards Bletchley. Suddenly a thought occurred to Angelina.
“I bet the rumours were started by one of those catty Slytherin girls,” said Angie with a gleam in her eye. “The cow was probably pissed that Flint wouldn’t date her.”
Back at the Slytherin table:
“We have to stay here for a little while longer,” whispered Marcus in Katie’s ear. She gave him a nod and a brave smile.
“Speaking of rumours,” said Adrian with a twinkle in his eyes. “I have a wonderfully wicked idea. No one will be talking about you and Katie when I’m through Marcus.”
“What are you going to do,” asked Terry. “You crazy git.”
“I’m going to let it be known throughout Hogwarts that if I hear that certain people are spreading lies about Katie here,” said Adrian. “I’ll just have to confess.”
“Confess,” asked MacIntyre with a smirk.
“Oh,” said Adrian as he examined his fingernails. “My trysts - all of them. Even the ones where I swore I wouldn’t tell her boyfriend. Granted that was if her boyfriend was not already there at the time.”
Gasps were heard down the Slytherin table and throughout the Hall as Adrian’s words were whispered and repeated.
Adrian got gracefully to his feet. He kissed Katie’s hand.
“Unfortunately,” said Adrian with a flourish. “My love for Katie Bell will forever remain unrequited.”
“Yes,” said Marcus icily as he pulled Katie’s hand away from Adrian’s lips. “It will.”
Even more whispers greeted Marcus’s possessive gesture. Marcus held Katie’s hand where the entire Hall could see.
Kate relaxed as the conversational buzz in the Hall went back to normal. Flint made it quite clear that anyone slagging off Katie Bell would face dire consequences.
“Let’s go back to my room,” said Marcus in Katie’s ear. “No one will bother us. I’ve had such a stressful day so far that I think a good old fashioned snog will do both of us good.”
Katie smiled into his dark hopeful eyes and nodded. He had been a very good boyfriend this afternoon. She leaned against him gratefully.
The Slytherin Dungeons: later that afternoon:
Marcus stroked Katie’s long hair thoughtfully. She had buried her face against his chest. They were curled up together on his couch.
“I don’t know what I would have done,” said Katie a little muffled against his robes. “If you had not shown up when you did.”
“You would have told the truth,” scoffed Marcus. “And those girls would have had you for lunch.”
“But I did do what they said,” said Katie sadly.
“You’ve been shagging Adrian and Terry behind my back,” said Marcus quizzically. “And you had an orgy with the Weasley twins and Wood in the Gryffindor change room?”
“What?” said Katie as she jerked up.
“Billy has been very busy,” said Marcus.
“That…that…bitch,” said Katie as her face flushed red.
“She’s getting desperate,” said Marcus.
“What does she want?” asked Katie with a frown.
“Me,” said Marcus simply.
“She can’t have you,” said Katie with a possessive look at Marcus. Katie wrapped her arms around Marcus’s shoulders. She ran the back of her fingers down his sharp cheekbones. “You are mine.”
Marcus claimed her mouth in a soft sweet kiss that turned hot and hungry. They lay wrapped in each other’s arms on the sofa exchanging soft nipping kisses.
“Are you still mad at me,” murmured Marcus a little while later.
“Yes,” nodded Katie as Marcus slipped a hand into her robe.
Katie arched against his searching fingers. He lightly stroked her nipple through her bra. Marcus traced the edges of her breasts with light fingertips.
“I’m still mad at you,” said Katie with a sultry voice. “But I’m still mad for you. Take me to bed Marcus.”
“No,” said Marcus intently. “I can’t wait. Right here – on my lap.”
Katie and Marcus looked intently into each other’s eyes as they swiftly and wordlessly pulled off their clothes.
Marcus positioned Katie’s soft pussy over his erection as she grabbed his shoulders to steady herself on his lap. She moaned softly as he brought her down onto his penis with a groan.
Katie arched her back as Marcus licked her nipples as she rode him. He jerked his hips up every time she pushed down as they established an erotic rhythm. Katie framed his face with her hands as she moaned into his mouth. Their rhythm was steady and slow as the afternoon sunlight trickled in weakly through the high dungeon windows.
Katie was amazed at the turn of events. Months ago, she would have blushed to be making love in the middle of the afternoon. But it felt right to be here with Marcus, naked and unashamed. This morning she had felt ashamed but now she felt beautiful. What they did together was beautiful and natural.
“I love you so much,” whispered Katie.
Marcus eyes darkened then he kissed her softly. “You are so beautiful,” said Marcus intently. “I love you Katie.”
“You do, don’t you,” said Katie tearfully.
“I don’t think you realize how much,” said Marcus.
“I do,” said Katie against his lips. “I do.”
When the pleasure took her, it wasn’t like a crashing wave but like an insistent tide of feeling that grew more and more intense until she cried out Marcus’s name. She opened her eyes to see his eyes grow unfocused and dreamy as he groaned her name over and over again.
When his breathing evened out, Marcus looked her. He brushed her hair away from her forehead. “Before you,” said Marcus seriously. “I didn’t know why they called it making love. Now, I know.”
Later that evening as Marcus and Katie went up for supper, they held hands all the way to the Great Hall. Just before they got to the hall, a strident voice stopped them.
“Marcus,” said Billy. “What are you doing?”
“Go away Bletchley,” said Marcus tiredly. “I’ve had enough of your interference.”
“Your father will never let you have a girl with her reputation,” hissed Billy. A small crowd had gathered to watch the coming argument.
“Those lies you spread are not true,” said Marcus coldly.
“Lies,’ scoffed Billy. “They weren’t lies.”
“I’m sure if you keep telling yourself something that isn’t true,” said Marcus blandly. “You will come to believe it.”
“Like what?” spat Billy.
“Like you and I dated all of last year,” said Marcus. “I broke up with you in February.”
“Lies,” said Billy with a fanatical gleam in her eyes.
“Besides,” drawled Marcus. “My father will never let me marry a girl who’s shagged an entire Quidditch team.”
“Oh Bell has, has she?” said Billy.
“No,” said Marcus coldly. “But you have.”
The assembled crowd gasped.
“That’s not true!” said Billy.
“Want me to ask them?” asked Marcus.
Billy raised her chin and loftily said,” We are not through Flint.”
“Yes,” said Katie icily. “You are. I have had enough of you chasing my boyfriend, Bletchley.”
“You don’t have what it takes to keep him interested,” said Billy with a sneer.
“Oh yes I have,” said Katie with an angry glare. “Marcus Flint is mine Bletchley, and I do not want to see you near him again.”
“Make me,” said Billy with an intense glare.
Katie growled and was about to jump on Billy when Marcus hooked an arm around her waist and stopped her.
“No need to fight,” said Marcus to Katie.
“I know,” said Katie through gritted teeth. “But I think Bletchley needs to know that too. And I would be happy to show her.”
“Come along,” coaxed Marcus. “My blood thirsty little Gryffindor.”
Katie and Billy gave each other death glares.
“This isn’t over Bell,” said Billy.
“Yes it is,” said Marcus coldly. “Do not go near her Bletchley. I’m only going to give you one warning.”
Billy narrowed her eyes at their retreating figures. She could feel a scream of rage bubbling to the surface. For some reason, Marcus was defending that slag. And he told a crowd that she had slept with an entire Quidditch team. How dare he?
